The Gathering of Incarnations

Inside the realm of Victor’s soul, the numerous incarnations were having a discussion.

It was a strange place to call a soul.

There were no walls, no ceiling, and no true ground beneath their feet. The realm seemed to stretch endlessly in every direction, an immeasurable space that existed beyond ordinary concepts of distance and time. Countless figures could gather here without ever making the place feel crowded.

These were Victor’s past incarnations.

Every one of them had once lived a life of their own. They had walked different worlds, carried different names, possessed different bodies, experienced different joys and tragedies, and reached different heights of power.

Yet beneath all those differences, they were connected by one thing.

They were Victor.

Not clones.

Not strangers.

Not merely people who happened to possess similar souls.

They were different expressions of the same existence, separated by worlds, timelines, and countless lives. Their memories belonged to individual incarnations, but their souls were deeply connected. Because of that connection, they could communicate here as naturally as people sitting around the same table.

And after spending what felt like an eternity together, they had developed something surprisingly ordinary.

They had become a group of bored men looking for entertainment.

Through Victor’s perspective, they could observe what was happening in the outside world.

At the moment, they saw some people exchanging gifts.

One incarnation tilted his head.

"Why are they doing that?"

"Maybe they have the same birthday?" another incarnation answered.

"No, if I remember correctly they’re having some sort of celebration. I think it’s a festival of sorts to honor one of the Ancient Gods of that world." Another incarnation joined in and gave his opinion.

The others looked toward the scene outside.

For a moment, nobody spoke.

Then another incarnation suddenly raised a finger.

"You know what, this reminds me of a thing we did back in my old world. It’s been so long but I think we did it to celebrate Christmas."

"Christmas?"

"It’s was an event to celebrate a certain birthday of a child of God. But later on, most people forgot the true meaning of the day, and only think of it as a day to receive gifts."

"A child of God, was he strong?"

The incarnation who had mentioned Christmas paused.

"I wasn’t a part of that religion, but if I remember correctly that child of God wasn’t one who fought. He was a person that preached peace and love for all mankind."

Several incarnations immediately lost interest.

Peace and love?

Those words were admirable in their own way, but they weren’t exactly the sort of words that made battle-hungry incarnations excited.

One of them suddenly narrowed his eyes.

"Wait a minute, I think you and I were from the same world. But I remember that celebration differently. If I remember correctly there was this jolly fat old man that enters your home at night to deliver presents to good children. He goes around the world in one night to do those deliveries. As for naughty children, I think they get coal instead of presents."

The surrounding incarnations stared at him.

"Then was that person strong? Surely someone that can deliver presents all around the world in one night must be using some sort of spell."

"I’m not sure about his battle capabilities, but I’m sure an old man like him who delivers presents isn’t really a person we would want to fight."

The first person who talked about Christmas once again spoke to the group.

"Wait a minute, I also remember another character in that story. I think he was called Krampus. If I remember correctly he was half-goat, half-demon that punishes the naughty children. Also before you ask I’m guessing he is kinda powerful... I’m not really sure since I only heard of him punishing naughty children and never a.d.u.l.ts."

"What is this? This topic is getting boring, you guys suddenly said the names of some random people that sound like they could be strong but in the end, they turn out to be nothing more than weaklings."

"We never said they were weaklings, we just said that they aren’t interested in fighting. But if it’s someone worth fighting during that season. Then I guess Jack Frost would fit the bill. He was the personification of frost, ice, snow, sleet, winter, and freezing cold."

"Now that’s what I’m talking about! Come on then recreate him here. I want to fight him!"

The moment the other incarnations heard the word fight, the entire atmosphere changed.

Every single bored expression disappeared.

One by one, they started gathering around the incarnation who had mentioned Jack Frost.

It was almost comical.

A moment ago, they had been discussing festivals, gods, presents, and old stories from worlds most of them had long since forgotten.

Now that the possibility of a fight had appeared, they suddenly acted as though someone had announced the greatest event in the history of the soul realm.

"Tell us more."

"How strong was he?"

"What kind of abilities did he use?"

"Can you recreate him?"

"Does he have a physical body?"

"Can he actually fight?"

The incarnation who had brought up Jack Frost suddenly found himself surrounded.

After explaining what happened, the other incarnations became excited as well.

The excitement wasn’t simply because they wanted to fight some fictional character.

They had been inside this soul realm for a very long time.

Some of them had spent trillions of years here.

Trillions.

To ordinary beings, such an amount of time was beyond comprehension. Even the strongest immortal might struggle to imagine what it meant to exist for so long.

But for these incarnations, eternity had become routine.

The only entertainment they had was watching the adventures of the current incarnation.

Every time Victor experienced something interesting, the entire soul realm could watch through him.

When he fought powerful enemies, they watched.

When he discovered something new, they watched.

When he encountered strange people and strange worlds, they watched.

And whenever Victor found himself in a life-or-death battle, the incarnations became particularly interested.

After all, they understood his personality better than anyone.

Victor’s desire for battle wasn’t something superficial.

It was buried deep within the soul they all shared.

They had all possessed it.

Some incarnations had been so battle-hungry that they had begged their enemies to continue fighting even after suffering mortal injuries.

Others had challenged gods simply because they had grown bored.

Some had traveled across entire worlds searching for worthy opponents.

They were different people, but they had inherited the same fundamental nature.

That was why they understood Victor so well.

Unfortunately, watching Victor was not enough to keep them entertained forever.

Aside from watching the current incarnation’s adventures, the incarnations could occasionally fight one another.
