Chapter 133: Chapter 133: A Game No One Understands
The death of the two Gu Family brothers right before his eyes sobered Long Haixin up completely.
He raised his Sword to retaliate, and the Tier Seven Nascent Soul Realm personal Guard behind him also swung his blade, attacking Chu Fan.
They hadn’t been a match for Chu Fan days ago, before his Cultivation had even improved, let alone now that he had reached the Nascent Soul Realm Peak.
By the fourth strike of his Sword, Chu Fan had killed both Long Haixin and his personal Guard.
Chu Fan was now slaughtering them on his last shred of clarity alone.
He couldn’t afford to hold anything back.
It was the same for Hui Ke. The moment he moved, he plunged into the group from the Northern Domain. The rugged man initially dismissed him as a child, paying him no mind; his attention was fixed in shock on the seemingly invincible Chu Fan.
But after Hui Ke killed three Nascent Soul Realm Martial Artists with a single swing of his iron staff, the man finally snapped to attention.
"Attack together! Stop him! Better yet, kill them both!" the rugged man ordered the group of Cultivators from the Northern Domain.
In truth, Chu Fan and Hui Ke were more worried about their enemies escaping. The enemy’s desire to overwhelm them with numbers played right into their hands.
Everyone was stunned. They were all shocked by Chu Fan and Hui Ke’s killing intent and their endless arsenal of techniques.
By the time some of them came to their senses and tried to flee, there were few left standing.
The battle didn’t last long—just over half an hour.
Of the thirty-nine Nascent Soul Realm Martial Artists present, only Yao Zhi and his six companions remained.
Chu Fan and Hui Ke’s faces were flushed, and both their skin and clothes were drenched in fresh blood. They looked like a pair of Demon Gods.
Chu Fan bit down hard on his tongue, trying to stay awake. With the sliver of clarity the pain afforded him, he said to Yao Zhi, "You helped me once before, so I won’t kill you to keep this quiet. The seven of you should leave this Secret Realm. As for what happened here and what you tell those outside... think carefully before you speak. I hope you don’t end up as my enemies."
After saying this, he didn’t wait for Yao Zhi’s response or care what they thought. He and Hui Ke simply took to the air and departed.
The two found a relatively secluded spot and hid in a crevice among the rubble. Finally succumbing to the intoxicating effects, they fell into a deep, heavy sleep.
Meanwhile, Yao Zhi and his companions were all pale with terror.
They were terrified of Chu Fan and the Little Monk’s methods, and terrified of the fact that Prince Fuling had died here.
One had to understand that aside from his Guards, every single person who entered the Secret Realm with Prince Fuling was a scion of the Hua Xu Empire’s nobility!
This was a catastrophe of monumental proportions!
"Brother... Brother Yao... what-what do we do?"
"Once we’re outside, remember not to say a word about this. Not even if you’re tortured for information. Those two are too terrifying," Yao Zhi warned.
And how could they not be?
The two of them had killed fifty Nascent Soul Realm experts in less than half an hour, without suffering a single scratch.
The seven of them departed, leaving the Secret Realm with a sense of profound unease.
However, not long after they had gone, a figure wearing a black cloak that hid their entire head and face emerged.
The figure surveyed the bloody scene, let out a few cold chuckles, and then walked over to Long Haixin’s body.
They pulled a gleaming black Elixir from their sleeve, forced it into Long Haixin’s mouth, and then—THUD! THUD!—struck several pressure points on his body with their palm.
Long Haixin, who had been as pale as a sheet and deader than dead, miraculously regained his vitality and came back to life.
After about an hour, the color had returned to Long Haixin’s face, and the fatal wounds on his body had vanished as if they had never existed.
The first thing he saw when he opened his eyes was the black-cloaked figure.
"Is this the Netherworld?" Long Haixin mumbled.
The black-cloaked figure spoke in a deep, grating voice like a broken gong, "This is not the Netherworld. I am the one who brought you back from the dead."
Long Haixin looked skeptical.
The black-cloaked figure cackled and pointed a finger at the corpses littering the ground. "See for yourself."
Seeing the bodies, Long Haixin finally believed the figure’s words, though he still found it incredible. ’Can someone in this world really bring the dead back to life?’
"I did not save you for free, of course."
"S-Senior, once I return to the Capital City, this prince will grant you riches beyond measure."
"CACKLE CACKLE CACKLE! Riches? With my power, even if I wanted the throne of the Hua Xu Empire, your Emperor wouldn’t dare utter a single word of refusal. What wealth could you possibly possess?"
"Senior... th-then what is it... you want?"
"I want nothing. You are to leave this Secret Realm at once and return to the Capital City. You are not to wage war against the Eastern Domain because of your hatred—not for at least three years."
"But Chu Fan killed me. He killed my Guard and the sons of several Marquis’ Families. I must have my revenge."
"CACKLE! I certainly won’t stop you from getting revenge. Whether you wait until they go to the Central Domain or you lead men into the Eastern Domain, it matters not to me. I have only one demand: for the next three years, you are not to set foot in the Eastern Domain, and you must prevent Hua Xu from waging war against it. As for your life, it belongs to me from this day forward. When I appear before you again, you will do something for me. Otherwise... if I can bring you back from the dead, I can certainly make you beg for an end that will never come."
After speaking, the black-cloaked figure’s body floated ethereally into the air. He held his hands out, palms up, and tens of thousands of pieces of rubble on the ground suddenly lifted into the air.
The rubble swirled around the figure in an orderly pattern a few times. Then, he clenched his fists.
With a deafening RUMBLE, the tens of thousands of stones instantly turned to fine powder, drifting down like white snow.
Long Haixin was left dumbfounded by the black-cloaked figure’s power.
Now he was utterly convinced this person had brought him back from the dead. He was more terrified than ever. How could he possibly dare to defy him?
In the next instant, the black-cloaked figure vanished as if he had never been there at all.
"What kind of power is this? Could he be a God?" Long Haixin finally whispered after a long while.
He glanced at the corpses strewn across the ground but had no intention of dealing with them. Filled with hatred and terror, he found the core of a Teleportation Array and immediately left the Secret Realm.
’Chu Fan,’ he thought viciously, ’I doubt you ever imagined this prince could return from the dead. Not only will I kill you, I will slaughter everyone connected to you, including your Sect! And one day, I will trample the entire Eastern Domain under my heel!’
Beside the Teleportation Array Long Haixin had just used, the black-cloaked figure materialized once more. Gazing at the now-empty array, the figure chuckled softly.
’This world has been silent for far too long. It’s time to stir things up. After all, it’s the times that make the hero. I wonder who that hero will be?’
The black-cloaked figure stepped into the Teleportation Array. In a flash of brilliant light, he was gone from the Secret Realm.
Yet, the moment the black-cloaked figure departed, a white shadow appeared, standing exactly where he had been moments before.
This white shadow was a White Fox, just over two feet long.
A strip of cloth, torn from someone’s clothing, was tied around one of its hind legs.
The White Fox gazed upon the devastated landscape, letting out a choked whimper as two streams of bloody tears fell from its crimson eyes.
The bloody tears dripped to the ground, transforming into lotus blossoms of blood that bloomed for an instant before vanishing.
