Chapter 183: Chapter 183: The War to Destroy Red Blood Mansion

Yan Qi had been far too naive.

Even if what he said was true, and there really was some misunderstanding, he’d failed to consider what his Red Blood Mansion had done in the Eastern Domain over the past two hundred years.

Having left their Spirit Vein, these three Sect ancestors were already staking their last vestiges of life. Even if they didn’t fight, they would never make it back to their Sects alive.

In a situation like this, when they could clearly annihilate an arrogant power like Red Blood Mansion before dying, why would they give up just because of a few persuasive words from Yan Qi?

But the three ancestors from Red Blood Mansion understood the situation far better than Yan Qi. After appearing, they said nothing and simply had Yan Qi gather the disciples for battle.

They too were on their last legs, so of course they understood their opponents’ intentions.

No matter what, this battle was unavoidable.

There was only one option: to fight.

When Cen Jiqing made his move, the three ancestors from Red Blood Mansion immediately went to meet the challenge.

"To have one last, all-out battle with fellow Void Realm cultivators before I die is a fitting end to my life," one of the Red Blood Mansion ancestors declared, his voice booming.

As his voice faded, he clashed with Wu Minde.

Three pairs of Void Realm experts clashed, appearing like three blazing suns hanging in the sky.

As they unleashed one technique after another, pillars of water shot up from Celestial Wave Lake like colossal dragons soaring to the heavens, their roars accompanied by earth-shattering tremors.

The six of them were also careful not to let the aftershocks of their battle harm their descendants. Otherwise, had they fought amidst the crowd or directly above Three Mountains Island, the overflowing True Qi and Gang Qi alone would have been enough to kill the disciples below.

The sight of six men, all on the verge of death, locked in their final battle was world-shaking.

Meanwhile, the battle on Three Mountains Island was no less intense.

The difference was that the fighting on the island was a brutal, bloody affair. Before long, the nauseating stench of Blood Qi saturated the entire island.

The Supreme Elder of Wuji Sect went straight for Yan Qi. An Integration Realm expert against one in the Divine Separation Realm—the outcome was predictable.

However, it had to be said that Yan Qi had indeed acquired many treasures from his years of plundering the Eastern Domain.

Knowing he was outmatched, he swallowed an elixir to unleash his latent potential.

While this elixir wasn’t as heaven-defying as the one Chu Fan had once taken, it was still enough to boost his Combat Power by an entire Great Realm.

Where he normally wouldn’t have been able to withstand a single move from an Integration Realm opponent, after taking the elixir, he was actually able to suppress him.

Combined with the Celestial Grade Top Class Treasure Sword he had won at Mr. Hong’s Auction House, he actually managed to turn the tables and kill his Integration Realm opponent after a dozen rounds.

In that short time, however, the disciples of Red Blood Mansion were brutally slaughtered.

Countless disciples fell, their bodies lying in pools of blood.

A few of Red Blood Mansion’s Elders also had elixirs to boost their potential, but the gap in their Realms was too vast. Of the four Elders, only one remained after less than a few minutes.

Their Integration Realm Supreme Elder, however, proved quite capable. At the cost of grievous injuries, he killed the Supreme Elder of the Celestial Derivation Sect, then intercepted the Supreme Elder of the Celestial Sect, and actually managed to fight him to a standstill.

Yan Qi, still riding the last waves of the elixir’s power, killed the Supreme Elder of Wuji Sect and then charged toward the other Elders from the three Sects.

With Combat Power comparable to the Integration Realm, Yan Qi seemed unstoppable.

No one in his path could withstand a single exchange.

The Combat Power Yan Qi was unleashing was beyond anything the three Sects had anticipated.

This was supposed to be a swift, decisive campaign. Who could have imagined it would devolve into such a brutal stalemate?

Though Red Blood Mansion had suffered innumerable casualties among its disciples, the three Sects had also lost many of their own Elders and Stewards.

They never imagined Yan Qi could unleash such frightening Combat Power at a time like this.

On the lake’s surface, the three battles still raged, but their intensity had clearly waned.

The six men were already at the end of their lives, and fighting with all their might only consumed what little life force they had left even faster.

One look at the diminishing water columns was enough to tell that none of the six could hold on for much longer.

The world often works in coincidental ways.

Though all six were in the Void Realm, they were also all at Tier One. Their Combat Power was perfectly matched.

With their life force all but gone, even elixirs that stimulated one’s potential were useless.

So, their battle became a war of attrition, a mutual consumption of life force.

The goal was simply to stall, to ensure all six exhausted their last shred of life force and died together, preventing any survivor from joining the battle on the island.

Finally, after an hour of fighting, all six men exhausted the last of their life force at nearly the same moment and plunged into the lake.

The surface of the lake fell silent.

The battle on the island was also drawing to a close.

Rivers of blood flowed across the ground, which was littered with severed limbs and shattered bones. Even the roars of battle had grown sparse.

Of Red Blood Mansion’s seven or eight thousand members, only the once-unstoppable Sect Leader Yan Qi and a dozen or so Golden Core Realm disciples remained.

As for the three Sects that had come to conquer Three Mountains Island, only four Elders were left, and they were surrounding Yan Qi.

Besides those four, two Nascent Soul Realm Stewards were locked in combat with the remaining dozen Golden Core Realm disciples.

For the moment, with the elixir’s effects gone, Yan Qi was helpless against the four Elders, but they were likewise unable to kill him.

The four consisted of one at the Divine Separation Realm and three at the Soul Emergence Realm, but all of them were heavily wounded.

As for Yan Qi, his body was a wreck, held together only by a final thread of willpower and hatred.

The two Nascent Soul Realm Stewards facing the dozen Golden Core disciples were in a similar state. All of them were badly injured, and every swing of their swords was a struggle.

No one had expected the battle to reach this point.

Gazing at the devastated island, Yan Qi didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

’If I could do it all over again, would I make the same choice?’

’Would I still plot against the Six Sects and Eight Gates?’

’What if I hadn’t sent those men to Taiyue Mountain? What if I hadn’t deployed so many experts in the Celestial Qi Kingdom and the Da Zhao Kingdom?’

’What if all those people had been gathered here on Three Mountains Island?’

’Would Red Blood Mansion have ended up like this?’

’In the end, I still underestimated the world.’

’My father once warned me that if you treat everyone else in the world like a fool, then you are the biggest fool of all.’

’But years of easy success had made me cast my father’s warning to the back of my mind long ago.’

’But was I really wrong?’

’All I wanted was to make Red Blood Mansion even more glorious.’

He never would have imagined that he and Red Blood Mansion had reached this point all because of a plot from over three years ago.

The boy he could have sent flying for miles with a single kick had, in just three years, overturned the entire Red Blood Mansion, and even upended the order of the whole Cultivation Realm in the Eastern Domain.

At that very moment, that same boy was now rushing toward Three Mountains Island, leading the Sect Leaders and Elders of many of the Eastern Domain’s Cultivation Sects.

Including Yan Qi, nineteen people in total had completely exhausted their strength. They sat slumped on the ground, oblivious to the blood flowing around them like a stream, not caring whose corpse they were sitting on.

They just sat there, hoping to recover even a sliver of strength to kill their enemies.

"Well, well, Yan Qi isn’t dead yet? Looks like fate intends for me to finish the job myself!"

A voice suddenly rang out from above. All nineteen people looked up, wary, but without an ounce of strength to even stand.

Then, they saw a dense crowd of people flying toward them like a dark cloud.

The one in the lead was none other than Chu Fan...
