Chapter 350: Putting on a Show of Welcoming Death
Chapter 350: Chapter 350: Putting on a Show of Welcoming Death
Throwing the Northern Domain into chaos was Chu Fan’s plan from the very beginning.
So, to have the Golden Clans develop a mutual hatred, even to the point of fighting to the death—wouldn’t that fit his plan perfectly?
Even Chu Fan himself hadn’t expected his plan to be this successful.
’Lust is a blade poised over a man’s head, and desire addles the mind. The old proverbs are never wrong.’
’That Moqish really was a "good guy"!’
Although the Lindi Clan’s two Void Realm and four Integration Realm experts were temporarily on his side, they hadn’t exchanged a single word during the six or seven days of travel.
In fact, those few had remained aloof and condescending, never deigning to give Chu Fan and the other Low Tier Guards so much as a pleasant glance.
Chu Fan, of course, couldn’t care less whether they lived or died.
Although Chu Fan intended to leave an escape route for the Lindi Clan and Li Haiqin in the future due to her kindness, he was by no means some brainless do-gooder.
’Fewer High Tier Martial Artists in the Northern Domain means more security for the Eastern Domain.’
As for Integration Realm opponents, with Chu Fan’s Combat Power, it was no exaggeration to say he could kill one with a sneeze.
The only reason he was drawing out the fight was to project the image of a warrior who stared down death without fear.
Ultimately, he had to be grievously wounded—even at the cost of damaging his own foundation to unlock his body’s potential—in order to save Li Haiqin.
Only then could he win the absolute trust of the Lindi Clan as quickly as possible.
Just as Chu Fan killed two Integration Realm experts and prepared to attack a third, more than half of the Lindi Clan’s guards had already fallen.
Of their two Void Realm experts, one was dead and the other injured, with the latter desperately holding on.
An enemy Void Realm Martial Artist was now charging toward Li Haiqin.
Seeing this, Chu Fan roared, "Protect the Princess!"
After shouting, he pulled out a common healing elixir and tossed it into his mouth before flying in Li Haiqin’s direction. Halfway there, he slashed out with his sword, and the resulting Sword Qi blocked the Void Realm elder’s path.
"You’re courting death!" The Void Realm expert hadn’t expected an Integration Realm cultivator to dare stand in his way, and he swung his saber at Chu Fan.
The slash contained immense power, its Saber Aura a white arc like a rainbow that briefly lit up the darkness.
Chu Fan resumed his act, charging forward recklessly. He ignored all defense and slashed out with his sword once more.
The Saber Aura left a bloody gash on his chest, while at the same time, his own relentless Sword Qi wounded the Void Realm elder.
The elder stared at Chu Fan in stunned disbelief. He couldn’t believe an Integration Realm cultivator had managed to wound him.
"Noel, be careful! It looks like that kid just took an elixir to unlock his potential," an elder behind Chu Fan shouted as a warning to the Void Realm expert.
But the moment the words left his mouth, Chu Fan used his next attack—the Sword of Time—and slew the Void Realm elder in a single strike.
’A Void Realm Tier Seven Grandmaster... killed by an Integration Realm Martial Artist?’
This was a fact that completely shattered their understanding of the world.
Both sides stared in utter disbelief.
Aside from the Void Realm elder who was still engaged with the Lindi Clan’s expert, the other two Void Realm masters charged at Chu Fan with killing intent.
"Boy, you have thoroughly enraged me!"
one of the elders roared at Chu Fan, consumed by fury.
The Combat Power of two Late Stage Void Realm experts was immense, as one might imagine.
Chu Fan himself was only at Void Realm Tier One. He had only been able to slay a Late Stage Void Realm Martial Artist back in the Eastern Domain because of the Sword of Time.
While he could fight above his rank, without the Sword of Time, he could only handle opponents three or four tiers higher than himself now that he was in the Void Realm—an incredible feat in itself.
Therefore, without using his trump cards, his Combat Power seemed stretched to its limit against the two Late Stage Void Realm elders.
After less than ten exchanges, Chu Fan was already covered in wounds.
Li Haiqin looked up at the battle in the sky, an inexplicable tremor in her heart.
A maid beside her murmured, "Huo Er is a true warrior!"
"If we make it back to the clan alive, I will be sure to reward him handsomely," Li Haiqin said softly.
The wounds on Chu Fan’s body were real this time; he had deactivated the defenses of his Celestial Dragon Armor at the very start of the battle.
On one hand, he wanted to test just how strong his physical body had become.
He had noticed something different about his body from the very first lash of the Fire Rope Whip a few days ago.
On the other hand, the wounds simulated by the Celestial Dragon Armor were ultimately fake, and the more gruesome and bloody his injuries, the more moving his performance would be.
’If a man wants to accomplish great things, how can he do so without a little suffering?’
’It’s just the old self-injury ploy, after all!’
When he saw the Lindi Clan’s injured Void Realm expert being cut down, Chu Fan knew the time was right. Just as a Saber Aura was about to hit him, he unleashed the Sword of Time once more. His blade, imbued with an endless and tyrannical Sword Intent, pierced into one of his opponent’s dantian.
The Sword Intent detonated inside the man’s dantian, instantly shattering his Primordial Spirit and internal organs.
To the onlookers below, however, it appeared that Chu Fan, in a desperate bid for mutual destruction, had managed to counter-kill a martial artist an entire Great Realm above his own cultivation.
But to the martial artists of the Cage Race, he had sustained heavy injuries yet had already killed two of their Late Stage Void Realm experts. This was a reality they simply could not accept.
The remaining Late Stage Void Realm elder also charged toward Chu Fan, intent on killing him.
Undoubtedly, Chu Fan’s performance was masterful, completely deceiving everyone. Down below, the pressure on the dozen or so remaining Lindi Clan guards who were still struggling to hold on had lessened considerably.
This was because their enemies’ attention had been partially diverted by Chu Fan’s battle.
The martial artists of the Cage Race, who had arrived brimming with confidence, had long since lost their initial air of detached arrogance.
Even for a Golden Clan, the loss of two Late Stage Void Realm martial artists was a devastating blow.
"Die!"
The two Late Stage Void Realm martial artists no longer cared about the Young Prince’s order to leave Huo Er breathing. Now, if they had the chance to kill him, they would not hold back in the slightest.
Chu Fan continued his act, pretending his strength was failing. Under the combined assault of the two Late Stage Void Realm martial artists, his injuries grew increasingly severe.
But even as his strength waned, he continued to fight with reckless abandon, only ever attacking, never defending.
After another dozen exchanges, Chu Fan saw an opening and once again unleashed the Sword of Time. To make his act more convincing, however, he didn’t aim for a vital point. He deliberately shifted his aim slightly, and though the deviation was small, it was enough to temporarily take the man out of the fight.
Chu Fan roared relentlessly, "Come on! Weren’t you all so arrogant? A loyal subject dies when his master is dishonored! As long as I draw breath, you won’t lay a finger on the Little Princess!"
By now, everyone believed Chu Fan was a spent arrow at the end of its flight. Even facing a single Void Realm expert, he continued to accumulate new wounds on top of old.
He was clearly at a disadvantage, almost completely overwhelmed by his opponent.
A short while later, Chu Fan let out a furious roar. In a flash, he deliberately allowed his opponent’s saber to pierce his chest as he thrust his own sword into the man’s dantian.
The two of them hung in mid-air for a few breaths before plummeting to the ground together.
And with that, all four of the Cage Race’s Void Realm experts had been slain by Chu Fan’s death-defying fighting style.
"Huo Er!" Li Haiqin could no longer hold back. Crying out, she rushed toward him, but she was only at the Heartbeat Realm and was quickly stopped by her maid.
"Huo Er!" Kemoqi and Ghazi cried out at the same time as Li Haiqin.
Their eyes were bloodshot, filled with grief and fury.
However, Chu Fan’s death-defying fighting style deeply inspired the remaining Lindi Clan guards.
With bloodshot eyes, every one of them was determined to take a pound of flesh from the enemy, even if it meant death.
However, even though the Cage Race had lost four Void Realm and three Integration Realm experts, the disparity in Combat Power between the two sides was still on completely different levels...
