Chapter 918 - 913: Celestial Demon Zhi Gu Jin, Time Shifting Device

Chapter 918: Chapter 913: Celestial Demon Zhi Gu Jin, Time Shifting Device

Celestial Wu Hall, Dao Court in the East.

Emperor Jia You was originally in the imperial court, operating his Spiritual perception alongside the Three Ministers to search the entire Immortal Pivot for any trace of the Primordial Celestial Demon. Suddenly, he froze.

The next second, he felt his Soul sink. Its original ethereal lightness instantly grew heavy and clumsy. His thoughts plunged into a muddled daze as countless conscious thoughts were buried. Scene after scene of past memories flashed by. Before long, the sight before his eyes underwent an earth-shattering transformation.

The location was still Celestial Wu Hall. He wore his Dragon Robe and Crown, sitting upright on the Throne. Nothing seemed to have changed, except for an inexplicable weakening of the Mana within his body.

He wondered, "My Realm... what is going on?"

Emperor Jia You shook his head, only feeling that his memories had fallen into an inexplicable chaos. He thought, "I should be at the Middle Stage of Golden Core, not far from a Great Perfected Lord."

But now, his Realm had plummeted. Not only had he fallen to the Early Stage of Golden Core, with his Mighty Power dropping drastically, but his control over the Fruit of Roadside Earth had also deteriorated. It felt exactly as if he had just broken through.

...Huh? Wait. Thinking of this, Emperor Jia You grew even more confused. "No, I really did just break through. After all, I just ascended the throne. My imperial brother died suddenly without leaving any heirs, so I entered the capital as a Vassal Prince to succeed him..."

Did something still feel off? He wondered, "No, I should be at the Middle Stage of Golden Core... Did I remember it wrong?"

Emperor Jia You thought as hard as he could. However, the more he pondered, the clearer his memories became, making him increasingly "awake." Off? There was nothing off!

Yet, in a place he could not see, a dark shadow loomed above Celestial Wu Hall. In the shadow’s hands was a cluster of light radiating Boundless Illusionary Colors. Each ray of colored light reflected an image of karmic links, overlapping and weaving into a net that captivated the eyes. It was precisely the Fruit of Rampart Earth!

Immediately after, the dark shadow dissipated. The Primordial Celestial Demon, with his long hair draping over his shoulders, stepped out. He held the Fruit of Rampart Earth in his hand, a contemplative expression on his face.

Lü Yang’s guess was incredibly accurate. His primary target was indeed Emperor Jia You, as he had already secretly gone Overseas to investigate, only to find not even a shadow of the Old Dragon Monarch.

He pondered, "This is the Fruit of Rampart Earth."

The Primordial Celestial Demon knew his own origins very well, just as he knew his mission for descending into this world: to occupy the Tribulation as much as possible. To achieve this, there were at least three things he had to do.

First, he had to stir up a massive calamity as the Primordial Celestial Demon. The more Cultivators who died because of him, the better, as this was the only way to gain the approval of the Tribulation.

Second was Lü Yang.

He mused, "I must kill that Immortal Monarch of Tribulation without a doubt, but his methods are unfathomable, and he definitely has ways to deal with Heart Demons. He won’t be easy to handle.

"I will kill Emperor Jia You first and swallow the Three Ministers of the Daoist Court to help me advance further... Since this concerns the Tribulation, that bigwig in the Dao Court won’t interfere. Once I swallow the Dao Court, I will naturally be invincible in the Middle Stage of Golden Core. Then, I will seek out that Immortal Monarch of Tribulation and find a way to slay him in one fell swoop."

The Primordial Celestial Demon was brimming with confidence. The source of his confidence wasn’t just his own Celestial Demon techniques, but more importantly, the Fruit of Rampart Earth. This Emperor Fruit had already been commandeered by him. Although he didn’t actually possess any Cultivation related to the Fruit of Rampart Earth, the Bhagavat had considered this long ago and refined this Fruit into an Artifact.

The Time Shifting Device! This was a method that only the Bhagavat, only the former First Generation Master of Ten Thousand Treasures Peak, could achieve—refining an Emperor Fruit into an Artifact that anyone could use!

However, this wasn’t something that could be done casually. Such a Supreme Treasure relied entirely on the Mighty Power of the Bhagavat for its very existence. It was equivalent to the Bhagavat keeping an eye on this Artifact at all times.

This object only existed in Heaven. Once the Bhagavat withdrew the Mighty Power applied to it, all the profound mysteries of the Artifact would instantly collapse, and the Fruit of Rampart Earth would sink back into dormancy.

He thought, "This is both a support and a surveillance over me.

"Because I am different. I am not within Unity, because the Tribulation could not possibly allow the avatar of another Master of Dao to interfere."

Thinking of this, the Primordial Celestial Demon felt a surge of emotion and incomparable excitement. Because this was both an opportunity and a hurdle. The opportunity lay in the fact that he didn’t have to worry about the Bhagavat replacing him at any moment; he even genuinely possessed a chance to achieve the Great Dao. The hurdle was that the Bhagavat controlled his life and death.

He concluded, "So I must prove myself.

"Only by letting the Bhagavat see my abilities and methods, making him believe I have a certain hope of occupying the Tribulation, will I have any value to continue existing."

Gathering his thoughts, the Primordial Celestial Demon thought no more. He performed Finger Techniques and hand seals, continuously infusing Mana into the Time Shifting Device. Then, with a gentle twist, he turned the front of the Artifact outward.

The Time Shifting Device possessed two great profound mysteries.

With the front facing outward, reading the Artifact’s name forward, it was called the Time Shifting Device, capable of altering the effects in the Current World by shifting the causes of the past.

With the back facing outward, reading the Artifact’s name backward, it was called the Time Shifting Device, which altered the effects in the Current World to influence the causes of the past.

At this moment, the Primordial Celestial Demon was utilizing the frontal profound mysteries of this Artifact. Emperor Jia You had currently fallen not into reality, but into a scene of karmic links. This was not true Time regression, but merely karmic ties extracted from the Great Net of Karma Links, yet it could genuinely change the outcome.

He thought, "Right now, he has returned to the day he just ascended the throne.

"At this point in time, the Daoist Court Grandmaster had just been defeated by World Purger Fei Xue, and his Realm was unstable. To stabilize the political situation, he chose to let him, a Vassal Prince, enter the capital.

"In official history, relying on his wisdom and identity as the Emperor, Emperor Jia You used the Great Dao Discussion to forcefully drive the Daoist Court Grandmaster—whose prestige had suffered greatly after being defeated by World Purger Fei Xue across Realms—to his death, forcing him to reincarnate. At the same time, Emperor Jia You leaped to the top and completely took control of the imperial court."

This was merely a brief description within the Great Net of Karma Links. However, for Emperor Jia You, those years were far from as easy as the words suggested. There were even several times when he almost chose to give up on fighting for power. But in the end, he persevered. What the Primordial Celestial Demon needed to do was make him give up.

He mused, "If he had given up fighting for power with the Daoist Court Grandmaster back then, imperial power would have fallen into the hands of others, and today he would no longer have the Cultivation of the Middle Stage of Golden Core."

Thinking of this, the Primordial Celestial Demon grinned.

He thought, "What a pity I can’t just kill him directly here.

"Since all of this is merely a scene of karmic links, I can’t even strike openly. Doing so would only cause the scene of karmic links to shatter directly.

"When that happens, I would even suffer a backlash from the karmic links."

The next second, he transformed into a gust of ghostly wind, falling silently into Celestial Wu Hall below, blowing straight into Emperor Jia You’s already muddled Spiritual Space. In an instant, countless thoughts of lying flat and giving up sprouted in Emperor Jia You’s heart.

The karmic links of a Perfected Lord were incredibly heavy. Therefore, even with the Fruit of Rampart Earth, one could not just change things on a whim. Even the target trapped in the scene of karmic links could not be allowed to discover his existence. Otherwise, if the opponent’s true consciousness awakened, they could instantly see through the karmic links.

Thus, generally speaking, even for a Perfected Lord of the Fruit of Rampart Earth, altering causes and effects was extremely difficult and required extensive preparation beforehand. However, the Primordial Celestial Demon was different. As a Heart Demon, he inherently possessed the ability to shift formlessly. He could stir Heart Thoughts without being discovered by anyone, thereby influencing the actions of a Perfected Lord. He was a perfect match for the Fruit of Rampart Earth.

What? This shameless combination was too overpowered against someone in the Middle Stage of Golden Core? This was the charm of the mechanics! If you had complaints, take them up with the Bhagavat!

This was the true Tribulation of the Celestial Demon! The Current World had no way to counter it. Even with monstrous Mana, it was hard to bring it to bear, because it tampered directly with your past, with your karmic links!
