Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 2725: In Hand
Xu Huo had already seen the position of the prop from the instruments of the three Golden-Eyed Players, but due to the special environment and the covering of the giant scale vine, his Spiritual World and spatial awareness were both compromised. From a distance of over five thousand meters, he could no longer accurately identify the prop’s location. This was a vast energy field; under the hurricane, any slight probing was easily assimilated.
Yan Jiayu patted his shoulder, gesturing questioningly towards the underground river nearby.
Xu Huo nodded, signaling her to stand by nearby while he went down to explore first.
Yan Jiayu made an "okay" gesture.
Xu Huo quickly went underwater, and after avoiding those vines stretching beneath the water, he groped his way towards a place closer to the main stock. The underground waterways were rugged and difficult to navigate, and in some places, they were very narrow and impassable, so he dared not make too much noise and could only move bit by bit.
After about ten more minutes, he found a gap close to the main stock through which the water from the underground river could enter and touch the main stock.
The distance was not far, and Xu Huo easily captured a nearby energy cluster, but when he used spiritual power to touch it, his head felt like it had been struck by a heavy hammer. The intense pain forced him to shut off his Spiritual World...
Realizing it might be similar to an "Angel’s Eye," a prop made from a whole Primeval Stone, he did not continue to probe, but instead controlled Spatial Power to cut it from the scales of the main stock.
The prop was not growing on the main stock but was wrapped in some sticky underwater plants and hung on the main stock’s vine, not too difficult to remove.
What he didn’t expect was that when the prop was taken away, all the scales on the main scale vine opened up like living creatures. Then, a force rushed out quickly, shaking the entire underground river. Both the prop and Xu Huo were swept out of the gap by the sudden underground current and into the main stream of the underground river.
Countless scale vine tendrils came attacking from both underwater and above, quickly surrounding Xu Huo, and the prop was also swept away.
How could he so easily lose what he had just obtained? Xu Huo invoked the Time Force to freeze the nearby vines, used Spatial Power to grab that "prop ball," and then shielded himself with a Spatial Barrier before retreating along the crowded vines, away from the main stock.
But before he could ascend, the prop ball in his hand suddenly transformed into a closed scale vine bud. The Spatial Ray Blade shredded the bud that was about to bite down into pieces. Xu Huo looked toward the direction where the three Golden-Eyed Players were moving, intent on pursuing, but discovered that a massive force pressed down from the river’s surface, almost sealing the entire river, and then pressed the frantically squirming scale vines to the riverbed!
Seeing those three move unimpeded towards the river surface, Xu Huo once again used Time Force to control them. Accompanying a loud noise, the impact from above the water surface struck the Golden-Eyed Player, knocking his right arm, along with the prop ball he was holding, back into the water, followed by their metal box being thrown down as well.
Amidst the surging vines and water, Xu Huo dragged over the metal box, pocketed the prop ball, and directly threw it into the luggage compartment.
At this point, the mental pressure he bore suddenly lessened. Correspondingly, the scale vines became more violent, leaving no room for movement on the river’s surface, forcing even Yan Jiayu to jump into the water. Of course, the underwater conditions were no better, as the vines churned up the mutant plants growing deep in the river, making the whole river sticky and turbid at once.
Even so, Xu Huo, Yan Jiayu, along with the three Golden-Eyed Players were still washed out along the river’s flow.
After all, the scale vine was just a plant, unable to sense the prop ball, and without a target to attack, it went mad underground, and they stopped pursuing not long after.
However, the continuously collapsing falling stones still caused them a lot of trouble. During this time, the three Golden-Eyed Players tried to take back the prop, but this time Xu Huo didn’t hold back, using Time Force to trap them and directly manipulated the Spatial Ray Blade to shred the three of them to pieces.
Passing through the blood mist, Xu Huo and Yan Jiayu floated along with the river for a while before seizing the opportunity to climb ashore.
On the water’s surface, there was a very small space, where the two crouched to rest for a moment, then climbed up along a nearby underground crack.
In no time, they returned to the previously interconnected underground passages.
Feeling the freedom to breathe, they exchanged a smile.
"I reckon it’s a super prop made from Primeval Stone. How should we split it?" Xu Huo asked.
"I’m not good at Spirit Evolution, anyway, as we agreed before, it’s yours, I don’t want it." Yan Jiayu said straightforwardly.
Spiritual props were indeed more suitable for Xu Huo, and he didn’t decline, skipping over the topic, "Let’s find an exit and see if we can encounter Pu Yu and the others."
If they had already left, there was nothing more to say, but if they were trapped somewhere, after all, they had helped them before, so in fairness, they couldn’t just leave them completely unattended.
"I also fished out a bag." Yan Jiayu said, taking out a bag from the luggage compartment, "Stirred up by the scale vine just now, I saw it was well-preserved after soaking for so long, probably made of good materials, maybe there’s something good inside."
Upon unclasping it, the first thing she saw was an identity tag, followed by various special small items, like a mini communicator, small daily necessities, etc. The communicator was damaged, making it impossible to know its contents, but judging by those items, they seemed intentionally placed together as relics.
"This whistle has a name." Yan Jiayu checked, "Z.N. Jefferson, the photo Pu Yu brought out earlier had the surname Jefferson on the back."
Xu Huo searched for this name on Beneath the Dimension.
The three Golden-Eyed Players came for the super prop. There was no guarantee that Pu Yu’s aunt’s group wasn’t too.
However, information about Rank-A Wormhole Points was not easy to find, and the surname Jefferson wasn’t particularly distinctive, so nothing useful was found.
"I’ll keep it for now." Xu Huo took the communicator and the bag, "We’ll talk after the communicator is repaired."
"But there probably won’t be any particularly important information."
If some important clues were to be learned while remaining awake, the first choice would be to send them back through other channels, rather than recording them in the communicator. If spiritual interference rendered tickets and instruments indecipherable or unusable, it would also be challenging to accurately record the information in the communicator.
This was most likely a relic prepared before the team’s action.
Yan Jiayu nodded, pretending they hadn’t picked up anything.
The two circled around underground for a while and found the unconscious Pu Yu near the Sky Pit, her two accompanying players were nowhere to be seen.
"She’s badly hurt." Yan Jiayu pulled her up and gave her a shot of Healing Potion, "It doesn’t look like mutant plants, did they have an infighting?"
