Chapter 182: Chapter 182: His Romance

Vivian Lowell was amused by the college student.

’She’s so interesting.’

Julian Faulkner was also very cooperative, completely shedding the "burden" of his presidential status. He raised one hand high, joining Vivian in making a heart shape over their heads.

There was a bit of a height difference between Julian Faulkner and Vivian Lowell. Even in high heels, Vivian was only five-foot-nine, while Julian, in his dress shoes, stood at six-foot-one.

He was so tall.

For the photo, Julian simply bent down a little to match Vivian’s height, allowing them to form a perfect heart.

"Okay!"

The college student snapped several photos, then suggested that Julian Faulkner and Vivian Lowell share a kiss in front of The Aurelia and The Starlight Spire.

With the dazzling nightscape behind them, it would surely be beautiful.

’A... a kiss?’

Vivian Lowell looked at Julian Faulkner, feeling uncertain.

It wasn’t as if the two of them had never kissed before.

But last time, there had been a compelling reason. Now, to be hugging and kissing in front of so many people... wouldn’t it be a bit too conspicuous?

But Julian Faulkner had no such reservations.

He pulled Vivian Lowell into his arms, and a soft, gentle kiss landed on her forehead.

A tingling, electric sensation spread from the top of her head. Vivian’s heart beat a little faster, and she subconsciously pushed against Julian’s chest.

She was a little nervous!

But Julian kept his arm around Vivian’s back, a smile playing on his lips. He looked a little mischievous, but it was mostly a look of infinite tenderness.

Just then, Vivian Lowell heard a WHIRRING sound above her head, like a drone flying by.

The college student who was taking photos let out a little "Huh?" and then exclaimed, "Oh my god, are those... rose petals?"

Hm?

Vivian Lowell didn’t know what was happening. She looked up and saw a drone dropping petals—vibrant, beautiful rose petals.

They filled the sky, and soon the entire area was awash in a sea of red rose petals.

"Oh my god, some big shot must have prepared this for the person they love, right? Look! There are even fireworks on the building across the river!"

Vivian Lowell heard the gasps of amazement from the crowd. At that moment, Julian Faulkner took her hand and said softly, "Turn around and look. Fireworks."

Fireworks?

Vivian Lowell was astonished.

She clearly remembered that real fireworks had been banned in the city many years ago because of the pollution they caused.

Even Disney in Valeria only used electronic fireworks.

Of course, Valeria Disney’s electronic fireworks were incredibly realistic and beautiful.

Now, as Julian Faulkner’s hand held hers, Vivian Lowell felt the warmth spreading from her palm as she looked across the Krystan.

Indeed, countless fireworks were exploding.

They must be electronic fireworks too.

With each BOOM, the fireworks blossomed in the sky, accompanied by stunning special effects. They were every bit as impressive as the fireworks show Vivian had seen at Disney last time.

Petals were still falling from above, one landing in Vivian Lowell’s bangs.

She reached up, plucked it from her hair, and brought it to her nose to smell it. It was fragrant.

The floral scent was rich. If a single petal could smell this fragrant, the roses filling the sky were surely not ordinary flowers, were they?

Such a grand gesture...

Vivian Lowell gave their clasped hands a little shake, and Julian Faulkner looked over at her, his eyes still smiling as if doting on her completely.

"Did you prepare all of this tonight?"

Vivian Lowell felt that besides Julian Faulkner, no one else could pull something like this off.

But if it was him, then it made perfect sense.

’So that’s why he suddenly suggested a walk so late at night, out of the blue. Was it all for this small, romantic, blissful moment?’

Vivian Lowell wouldn’t dare say she was the happiest woman in the world, but she was truly moved that Julian Faulkner would go to such lengths for her.

"I did."

Julian Faulkner’s two simple words grounded all the complex emotions swirling in Vivian’s heart.

She leaned closer to Julian Faulkner and murmured, "When we got back to the hotel earlier, I saw you busy on your laptop and thought it was for work."

"I never expected you were preparing this. To think that our great workaholic, President Faulkner, has this side to him. It’s truly surprising!"

Julian Faulkner heard the teasing in Vivian Lowell’s voice and chuckled helplessly. He wrapped his arm around her waist again, pulling her closer into his embrace.

The night wind picked up, and it grew a little chilly by the Krystan. But Julian Faulkner’s chest and his entire body were still warm, and being held by him like this, Vivian felt a little reluctant to let go.

"If it’s for you, then it’s all worth it. Thank you for doing so much tonight. I’m just returning the favor a little. As long as you like it, that’s all that matters."

In truth, Julian Faulkner felt this wasn’t enough.

’It’s just a rehearsal before the proposal,’ he thought. ’As long as I know she likes these things, that’s good enough.’

"I love it, Julian. I really love it."

Vivian Lowell beamed, her smile radiant. Julian Faulkner’s heart skipped a beat at the sight, and he planted another small kiss on her forehead.

Just then, a firework exploded right above their heads, bathing them in its light and the falling rose petals. It was an infinitely romantic moment.

Twenty minutes later, the fireworks and rose petals ended.

The people watching the night view by the Krystan were all stunned, and they couldn’t help but break into hushed, excited discussions.

"That was so beautiful! To be lucky enough to see a scene like this in my lifetime, I can die with no regrets! Aaaah!"

"SOB SOB SOB, I wish the person I like could do this for me too! No, even a tenth of this would be enough. It’s so romantic!"

Listening to the envy in others’ voices, Vivian Lowell’s lips curled into a smile.

’I never thought I could be someone that others dreamed of and envied.’

"Um, miss."

The college student came over with Vivian Lowell’s phone and handed it back, saying sheepishly, "I was so mesmerized by the fireworks and roses just now."

"I took a few more pictures for you. Some of them caught the fireworks and roses, and they look great. You two have such a wonderful relationship. I’m envious just watching."

"Miss, take a look at the photos. Do you like them? If there’s anything you’re not happy with, I can take more for you."

The college student’s eyes were red.

She seemed to have been moved by the scene. Her boyfriend, standing beside her, handed her a tissue and soothed her, "Don’t cry, don’t cry."

"If you like it, I’ll buy fireworks and set them off for you when we go back to our hometown next time. You like roses, I’ll buy you a huge bouquet. You’ll have it all, so we don’t have to be jealous of others!"

The college student laughed at that. "Okay, okay, I know you’re good to me," she said. "It’s just... I was so moved tonight! Even though I know all of this wasn’t for me."

"But I know for sure that the girl who gets all this must be incredibly happy!"

Vivian Lowell smiled.

She was, indeed, very happy.

"Thank you."

Vivian Lowell thanked the college student, then said, "It’s getting late, and I’m heading back. The wind is strong by the river, so you two should head back soon, too."

"There are still lots of fun places in Valeria. Get some rest so you can get up and continue exploring tomorrow."

"Uh-huh!"

The college student nodded and said with a smile, "We have it all planned out. For the next few days, we’re going to be ’power-touring’ the city! Take care, miss!"

"Okay."

Vivian Lowell agreed, exchanged a smile with Julian Faulkner, and the two of them walked hand in hand back toward the hotel.

After they had walked some distance, the college student watched Vivian Lowell and Julian Faulkner’s retreating figures. She tugged on her boyfriend’s arm and asked, "Hey. I just realized, that woman and her husband look kind of familiar!"

"Goofball, don’t you think?"

The "goofball" glanced over, looking confused, and shook his head.

The college student smacked him lightly. "Seriously," she said with a hint of disdain. "All you do is go to class and grind practice problems, of course you wouldn’t recognize them! I’m saying, they look just like the president of the Faulkner Group and his wife!"

"Huh!? President Faulkner and his wife really are in Valeria tonight! Oh my god... I just shipped a real-life couple, AAAAAH! Goofball, I need to calm down!"
