She was completely at the monster's mercy. And, for the first time all day, she looked utterly peaceful. Vana floated for what felt like an hour, or perhaps a day. Time lost its meaning inside the warm, perfect pool. She was roused from her stupor by a firm, gentle tug on arm.

Another goblin stood beside the pool. This one was taller than the first, her body more robust and muscular under the same white uniform. Her features were still distinctly goblinoid, pointy ears, green skin but her bearing was calm and professional.

"It is time for the next treatment," the goblin said, her voice slightly deeper than the previous attendant's but just as polite. "Please, follow me."

"S-sure," Vana murmured, her voice heavy with satisfaction and exhaustion. She made no move to resist, instead allowing the goblin to help her out of the sticky pool. She felt a bit like a noodle, limp and soft, but happy.

She was led to the center of the room where a polished stone table waited. It was low to the ground, cushioned on top with a soft white cloth. There was a padded hole for her face, and another, slightly larger, padded hole lower for… well, for what, Vana wasn't entirely sure.

"Lie face down, please," the goblin instructed, gesturing smoothly. "The cushion will support you. You can breathe through the face hole."
