Chapter 542: Chapter 490: The Shackles of the Collective Will, the Final Sword

Beneath the sky, the roar of the frenzied Energy tide and the shriek of clashing Laws wove together into a symphony of Destruction.

At first, faced with Roland’s frenzied surge in Power—fueled by the Burning of his life and soul—Yemiga’s machine-like, precise response had indeed fallen into a brief moment of disarray and "accident."

The attacks, infused with Dragon Fury and Blood Qi, had once threatened the stability of his very "existence."

However, the might of the Gods—even an artificial one—and their Authority over the world’s fundamental Laws was not something a mortal could hope to defy.

As the battle continued, Yemiga’s inhuman, absolute rationality and immense computational power were gradually adapting to and analyzing Roland’s "beyond the Law" Power pattern.

Yes, Roland’s Power was still climbing. With every beat of the bronze, membranous Energy wings, he whipped up an even more terrifying Energy Storm.

Moreover, his current appearance was enough to make any sane mortal’s blood run cold.

The phantasmal bronze Scales on his skin had nearly solidified, covering most of his body and reflecting a strange luster in the blood-red mist—a mix of cold metal and scorching Magma.

His skull had elongated, his jaw jutting forward. He exhaled scorching breaths laced with tiny sparks of electricity, his human features growing indistinct and imposing beneath the traits of Dragonification.

His hands had become almost like Dragon Claws. The hilt of Bright Moon was gripped so tightly it seemed to have grown into his bones. The sword’s light, the blood mist, and his Dragon’s Breath merged as one, each slash carrying the power to tear the sky asunder.

He barely retained any human features. He looked more like a Bronze Dragon Demigod from ancient myth, one lost to a furious rage, launching a relentless Charge against the "Pseudo-God" in the sky with a will to burn everything to ash.

But Yemiga had already stabilized his position.

He no longer traded blows head-on with Roland; it did not align with the principle of maximum efficiency.

He had switched completely to a defensive stance.

The silvery-white light was no longer just a protective barrier. It expanded outward from him as if alive, weaving itself into an exceedingly complex and dynamic Space-Time Domain several hundred meters in diameter.

Within this Domain, the flow of time was no longer uniform. The curvature of space and its dimensions folded and overlapped.

Roland’s furious slashes might fall, only to be carried away by a sudden "acceleration" in the flow of time, landing on empty air seconds later.

They might be deflected in the complete opposite direction by "folded" space.

They might be dissipated layer by layer by temporarily created "spatial faults," which were as thin as a cicada’s wing yet indestructible.

Or they might be temporarily trapped in a bubble of "slowed" time.

Although the immense strength and Blood Qi of the Dragonification would shatter them in an instant, it was enough time for Yemiga to calmly adjust and evade.

Inside the Domain, Yemiga’s figure became erratic and unpredictable, as if he existed simultaneously in countless overlapping Space-Time phases, making it difficult for Roland’s attacks to lock onto his true "present" self.

Occasionally, he would condense a point of ultimate Space-Time Power to counterattack—not to wound his enemy, but to precisely test the changing parameters of Roland’s Power response and defensive limits.

To an outside observer, the scale of this battle was terrifyingly immense.

Tides of silver-white and dark-red Energy crashed and annihilated each other in the sky, triggering peals of Thunderous Roar and ripples in space.

The distorted light, the shattered clouds, the spires of buildings silently annihilated by the aftershocks...

All of this demonstrated the supreme might possessed by both combatants—a power that could easily destroy an entire city district.

Yemiga moved with ease through this Space-Time labyrinth of his own making, weaving, dodging, and neutralizing Roland’s attacks, each wave stronger than the last.

In his dark-yellow, slitted pupils, streams of data flowed calmly and efficiently, constantly updating the "Power-Time Decay Model" for Roland.

At one point, he even sidestepped gracefully, allowing a crimson sword light powerful enough to cleave a mountain to graze the edge of his silver Domain.

After it caused a distant city block of buildings to collapse like sandcastles, he spoke again, his tone calm to the point of coldness.

"How much longer can you last, Mr. Roland?"

His voice was not loud, yet it pierced cleanly through the clamor of the Energy Storm, reaching the very edge of Roland’s consciousness, which was saturated with Dragon Fury and Burning.

"The deep awakening of your Dragon Race Bloodline brings Power, but it also irreversibly rewrites your life form and the essence of your soul. With every breath, you move one step further from being ’human.’ And that frenzied Power... Burning your Spirit to fuel your Blood Qi, how dangerous."

"I can observe that the collapse rate of the Spiritual Barrier you use to maintain your ’self-awareness’ and ’boundary of reason’ is increasing exponentially as your Power climbs."

Yemiga was like a detached physician analyzing a patient’s terminal illness at the operating table.

"According to my latest parameter-based deductions... the moment your Power climbs to its next peak—that is, the instant the ’wing-shadows’ behind you fully solidify—your spiritual fuel will reach its first critical point of depletion."

"At that time, the ’anchor’ that maintains your humanity and will to fight will come loose. After that, regardless of how much more Energy your physical body can bear, your ’existence’ itself will begin to irreversibly... disintegrate from within."

He paused, as if stating a physical law about to be proven. There was no mockery in his voice, only the pure "result of his calculations."

"When that happens, Mr. Roland... for what will you wield this Power you’ve gained at the cost of everything?"

"Everything you’ve gambled it all to protect and defy today... at that moment, will any of it still have meaning to you?"
