Landlord in the Arctic

Chapter 609: Chapter 401: Arriving Home
This jet costs 500 million!
The surrounding passengers couldn’t help but gasp, their faces filled with shock when they heard the number.
All eyes fell on the jet’s cabin door.
Their curiosity grew, wondering just what kind of person could own such a luxurious private jet.
Under the direction of the control tower staff, the *Petroleum* taxied to its designated parking spot.
The sun poured down unreservedly onto the silver-gray fuselage of the Gulfstream G650. Its metallic surface reflected a dazzling light, a silent testament to its extraordinary status.
Almost simultaneously, a shuttle bus drove up beside the private jet.
As the cabin door slowly opened, the air stairs gradually lowered with a soft mechanical whir.
Mova, with her elegant posture, walked down the stairs with another flight attendant.
The two of them then stood in a line beside the stairs, waiting quietly with professional smiles on their faces.
The time in Alaska is behind the time in China.
Because Alaska is in the UTC-9 time zone and China uses the UTC+8 time zone, there’s a time difference of about 17 hours between them.
The local landing time was around 2:00 PM.
When Feng Mountain stepped out of the cabin, the Hai City sun was at its most intense. The harsh winter light felt like countless fine needles pricking at him.
He had long grown accustomed to the sunless polar nights and snow-covered life of the Crown Territory.
The sudden, glaring light made Feng Mountain uncomfortable for a moment. He instinctively squinted and raised a hand to shield his brow.
After a good while, he slowly lowered his hand and opened his eyes again, though he still felt a bit unaccustomed to the brightness.
"Mr. Feng, these are for you." Mova offered a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses with a gentle smile.
"Thanks!" Feng Mountain nodded slightly and took the sunglasses.
Once he put on the sunglasses, the world instantly softened. The harsh glare was blocked out, replaced by a comfortable dimness.
The discomfort dissipated, and Feng Mountain couldn’t help but let out a small sigh of relief.
Just then, the sound of light footsteps and excited chatter came from behind him.
Xiaohua and the other two, carrying their luggage, came down the air stairs cheerfully, their faces beaming with the irrepressible excitement of coming home.
Mova then led the four of them—Feng Mountain, Xiaohua, Hu Zi, and Black Hide—onto the shuttle bus.
The moment the doors closed, the clamor from outside was cut off.
The gentle warmth from the bus’s air conditioning was incredibly comfortable.
Once everyone was seated, Mova asked in a soft voice, "Mr. Feng, Mr. Jeff has requested that the *Petroleum* remain in Hai City to await your return. I need to file a report with the airport, so I was wondering how long you plan to stay."
Hearing this, Feng Mountain was slightly taken aback, a hint of surprise on his face.
He hadn’t expected Jeff to make such arrangements. After a moment’s thought, he quickly said, "There’s no need to wait for me. The *Petroleum* can return directly to Alaska. I’ll just take a commercial flight back."
"I’m very sorry, but this is Mr. Jeff’s request. Please don’t make things difficult for us." Mova’s delicate brows furrowed slightly. She clasped her hands together, putting on a pitiful expression.
"Fine, I’ll probably stay for a week," Feng Mountain said with a helpless shrug and a wry smile.
Mova, whose face had been full of pitifulness just a moment ago, instantly brightened upon hearing Feng Mountain’s answer. The corners of her mouth turned up in a joyful smile. "Okay, I understand!"
Her voice carried a sense of relief and delight, as if she had just completed an important mission.
The shuttle bus stopped in front of the terminal, and Feng Mountain’s group of four got off, accompanied by Mova.
Upon entering the terminal’s immigration area, the group headed straight for the VIP lane.
Thanks to their VIP status, many of the tedious entry procedures were simplified.
The four of them hadn’t brought much back with them this time, just simple carry-on items. They hadn’t even bought any souvenirs.
After all, for Feng Mountain, this return from Alaska was more about the feeling of coming home than about material gains.
However, the chubby tabby cat, Coca-Cola, was particularly eye-catching.
The little guy was nestled lazily in Feng Mountain’s arms, stretching from time to time and waving his furry paws in the air.
Even the customs officers’ eyes lingered on Coca-Cola for a moment during their inspection.
Feng Mountain was prepared. He took out the animal immunity certificate, animal quarantine certificate, and disinfection certificate that Old Tom had helped him arrange.
All the paperwork was complete and in perfect order.
The customs officer carefully checked the information, and after confirming everything was correct, offered a polite smile and smoothly cleared the four of them for entry.
Feng Mountain’s group of four walked out of the terminal, the warm sunlight spilling over them.
The fresh air, carrying the unique scent of Hai City, rushed to meet them, invigorating their spirits.
"Whoa, I’m finally back! I can finally see the sun!" Xiaohua’s eyes shone with excitement. She threw her arms up toward the blue sky as if to embrace it, her voice filled with thrilled anticipation. "Shredded pork with green peppers, twice-cooked pork, braised pork belly, pork slices in chili oil—wait for me!"
"You’re such a foodie! Did I starve you back in the Crown Territory?" Feng Mountain watched Xiaohua’s eager display, shaking his head with a helpless smile, though his eyes were filled with affection.
Just then, an unlicensed cabbie enthusiastically approached them, his face wreathed in smiles. He kept pitching his car and his prices, trying to land their fare.
Feng Mountain politely refused, just as his phone started to ring.
He pulled it out and saw two words on the screen: "Brother Kai."
He raised an eyebrow slightly, swiped the screen, and answered the call.
"Brother Feng, are you out yet?" Zhang Kai’s distinctively loud voice boomed from the phone’s earpiece, so resonant it was as if he were standing right there, making Feng Mountain’s eardrums tremble.
Feng Mountain instinctively held the phone a little further away from his ear. He glanced back at the conspicuous number on the exit gate. "We’re out. We’re at Gate 4."
