Chapter 691 -442: Business

Gruus and Diego stood in the aisle, their eyes blank with confusion.

For a moment, they didn’t know what to do.

Seeing this, Jenny hurried over and gently guided the two to their seats.

She also took the opportunity to softly explain some of the rules of the Crown Territory.

This was so they could have a heads-up.

Just then, Erica suddenly jumped onto Feng Mountain’s back, gently pinching his ears. She leaned in close and asked in a low, sly voice,

“Feng, have you been having a little snack on the side?”

She looked as if she had discovered some incredible secret, her eyes brimming with curiosity.

‘A snack on the side?’

‘When have I ever had a snack on the side!’

Feng Mountain was immediately indignant. When he wanted to eat, he did it out in the open. He had no need to sneak around.

“Don’t be ridiculous. I only ate once back at the ranch.”

Erica obviously didn’t believe him and pointed toward the crew cabin.

“Give me a break. When that flight attendant first boarded, I noticed something was up when she looked at you. Something is definitely going on between you two.”

Only then did Feng Mountain understand. A look of sudden realization appeared on his face as he said with a smile,

“You mean Mova? She’s my employee now. She’s the head of my travel agency office in Alaska.”

“You started another company? How boring!”

Hearing it wasn’t the gossip she’d been hoping for, Erica instantly lost interest. She let go of Feng Mountain’s ears, jumped off his back, and muttered to herself.

Then, she turned to find Demi, as if the little interlude had never happened.

Ever since Jenny had officially entered Feng Mountain’s room the previous night, accompanied by a full night of activity,

Erica had lain in her bed, tossing and turning.

Her mind replayed her past experiences with Feng Mountain over and over.

She looked at the peacefully sleeping Demi beside her. Moonlight spilled across Demi’s soft face, making her features seem exceptionally serene.

In her heart, she secretly made a decision.

‘Since I can’t have him, I might as well be with Demi. From now on, I won’t get involved with men. We’ll be lovers who simply enjoy each other’s company and savor a simple, pure happiness.’

「Five hours passed quietly.」

Before they knew it, the *Petroleum* had appeared in the skies above Fairbanks.

Looking down from the porthole window, the city was shrouded in winter, everything quiet and peaceful.

Compared to the clear, endless blue skies of Montana, Feng Mountain actually preferred the low, heavy cloud cover of Alaska.

Like a giant gray curtain, the clouds hung so low they seemed within arm’s reach, adding a touch of mystery to the desolate land.

After the plane landed smoothly, everyone disembarked from the *Petroleum* one by one.

The women’s cheerful laughter instantly filled the cold air.

As for Gruus and Diego, they were taught a harsh lesson by the Alaskan weather the moment they stepped off the plane.

The biting air was like sharp blades, lashing their faces with a stinging pain that felt as if it would tear their skin apart.

What was even more unbearable

was the all-pervasive cold that drilled right through their clothes, instantly dispelling any residual warmth from the cabin and enveloping them in an icy grip.

Diego instinctively shrank his neck and pulled his coat tighter, but the chill still relentlessly crept in through his collar and cuffs.

Gruus’s teeth began to chatter uncontrollably, and he stomped his feet, trying to warm himself up.

But his feet felt as if they were frozen solid, sending waves of numb, stinging pain.

“Di… Diego, are you c-cold?” Despite being bundled in a thick down jacket, Gruus couldn’t stand the chill. He shiveringly turned his head to look at Diego, the young man from Mexico, who was so frozen he was dazed and couldn’t even speak.

At that moment, Diego’s face was frozen red and his lips were purple. His body trembled in the cold wind, and he looked utterly miserable.

However, Feng Mountain and his group were long accustomed to this kind of cold.

Considering the extreme temperatures of fifty or sixty degrees below zero they had just experienced in the Far North, the current weather in Fairbanks felt like child’s play.

Only ten minutes had passed between landing and disembarking.

Just then, three pickup trucks rumbled onto the private airstrip.

The trucks’ wheels kicked up plumes of snow, creating white arcs behind them.

Old Tom emerged from one of the trucks, dressed in a thick animal-hide coat. Looking like a roly-poly brown bear, he approached Feng Mountain with a warm smile on his face and arms outstretched.

After the two shared a tight hug,

Old Tom’s gaze quickly swept over Jenny and the rest of the group.

Then, he clapped Feng Mountain on the shoulder with a smile and teased, “Hey, did you have fun on your trip home? Meet a lot of pretty ladies?”

“Sorry, but I’m not like you and Frank,” Feng Mountain replied with a grin that revealed a set of bright white teeth, then beckoned for everyone to get in the trucks.

“Huh, these two friends frozen stiff like ptarmigans look unfamiliar.” Old Tom’s curiosity was piqued when he noticed Gruus and Diego, who were nearly curled into balls.

Feng Mountain was just about to open a truck door when he heard Old Tom’s question. He glanced back at the two men and explained, “They’re Jenny’s family from Montana. They’re here to work in the Crown Territory.”

“So they’re Miss Jenny’s family!” Old Tom’s eyes instantly lit up, and he grew as enthusiastic as if he were meeting his own relatives.

He quickly trotted over and opened the sealed bed of the pickup truck.

After rummaging around inside for a moment, he pulled out two animal-hide coats.

Judging by the fur, they were likely made of reindeer hide.

Old Tom then handed the hide coats to Gruus and Diego. “Fellas, I’m Old Tom, the exclusive supplier for the Crown Territory. You guys clearly can’t handle Alaska’s temper. Quick, put these on. They’ll warm you right up. If you need any supplies in the future, you can call me directly.”
