Chapter 481 – Hearts and Bodies Sick With Desire
Theophane was stunned.
She stared at Seraphim, then at Sea, her gaze alternating between the two faces as if trying to understand whether they were mocking her or not.
How could one steal the Fate of other people?
That was something Theophane had never even considered, as it was so utterly beyond logic.
She, more than anyone, knew how important a Fate was to a being.
Without it, she thought, Life would become directionless. One would walk through it completely lost, trying uselessly to find a way forward, but to no avail.
Just like what Theophane had been doing all this time.
She had been trying to find a way. One way that could possibly help her achieve her revenge. And for that, she had done so many things: she had manipulated teachers at school. Manipulated her own classmates. Manipulated her own nephew, and every kind of person she could lay her hands on.
She had even reached out to Sea Wealth, both because of how important the Wealth Family could be for her plan, and to subtly attack Meadow and hurt Cassius.
Theophane Celeste had been trying all kinds of things. And most of them, if not all, had barely helped her in any way.
It felt like no matter what she did, there was no way for her to get closer to her goal.
And now, at that very moment, as she contemplated the importance of Fate, the White Witch finally understood why. Because if there was no ending, then there could be no path leading toward it.
’Ah...’ Theophane’s tear-filled eyes widened slightly. ’Fate is the endpoint of a life, or perhaps of an important Chapter within it. And if I have no Fate, then I have no destination in the eyes of the World. And if I have no destination, then no matter how far I walk, no matter what I do, no matter how desperately I struggle... I’ll never get anywhere.’
And that meant her plan for vengeance had been doomed from the very beginning.
How come she had only come to understand something so obvious now?
Yet the problem still remained. Understanding that didn’t mean she believed that...
"...a Fate can be stolen?" Theophane said aloud, her voice confused. However, there was a trace of hope deep in her white eyes, a hope neither Seraphim nor Sea had seen in her since the beginning.
"I don’t know," Seraphim replied, and the White Witch was about to grow discouraged once more when the princess continued, "But anything is possible in this world. If we can steal, or rather obtain, the power of the dead through a Simple Process, then you can certainly obtain the Fate of others. You are the Seer here, girl. Not me, not us."
The Princess narrowed her eyes, locking them deep on Theophane’s white ones. "You are the one who is supposed to find a way out of this, aren’t you?"
"It’s easier said than done."
"It’s always easier said than done," Seraphim said. "But that’s your only way to live longer than you are destined to. So, in the end, it’s all up to you."
"And we can help you," Sea added. "I have resources, and I am very connected to the Museum. My family has big libraries too. I don’t doubt that you will find something if you look deep enough."
"But my conditions are clear," Seraphim added, her voice leaving no room for debate. "Forget Cassius. And I don’t need your word for it. I want you to swear it on a Death Contract."
Theophane’s face instantly twisted. "Even knowing what he has done to me, you still want me to let go this easily?"
"First, Cassius has done nothing to you. It was his goddess," the Princess said coldly. "Second, I am sorry that you think I actually give a fuck whether Cassius wronged you or not. That’s what you don’t seem to understand. It does not matter."
Her aura began to swirl, and she delicately grabbed the White Witch’s face. "I said, forget Cassius. It’s either that, or I kill you here and now and save myself the trouble."
"And get rid of your toy?" Theophane retorted, smiling coldly. "I don’t think you can get rid of me so easily. You want me."
"I do," Seraphim confessed, grinning. "But my whim to possess you is... just a whim. Do you really want to test it against my love for Cassius? By all means, then. Try me. This time, I won’t let out a killing intent strong enough for your Seer’s instinct to warn you."
Theophane fell silent at those words. She had just remembered how crazy this woman was, and how she wouldn’t hesitate to kill her if she truly stepped out of line.
Even Sea would not do anything. His sister was often around Cassius. He wouldn’t risk her safety just for a woman he loved, Theophane now understood.
’Don’t tell me... I have no choice?’ Theophane felt incredibly sour, her heart aching.
One could say that the hatred and anger she held against Cassius and his goddess had been the energy keeping her going.
And giving up on them meant giving up an important part of her life.
How could she?
"It’s not like you can do anything to Cassius anyway," Seraphim added, shaking her head. "He is way stronger than you, and your Fate power will not work on him. It’s a losing battle. At best, you can make him sting, but ultimately, it will be worth nothing in his eyes."
That was a bitter truth, Theophane knew.
"However, I have given you the one and only way you can hurt him," the Princess added, and Theophane looked at her. She knew what Sera was talking about, and she found herself unable to disagree.
"So focus on me." Seraphim smiled faintly. "Love me with everything you have. And take that revenge of yours, if you desire it so much."
"Why are you putting yourself in danger?"
"Why, huh? Tell me, dear," Seraphim said, caressing Theophane’s cheek. "Do you believe yourself capable of that kind of love in your wounded heart?"
Theophane was silenced, and the Princess of Hood laughed.
"Swear it," she continued, pulling a Death Contract out of her space ring. As a Hood, she had plenty of these things. "You will leave everything related to Cassius aside, except me. If you want your revenge, it’s only through me. Sign it, or... die."
There was nothing left to hesitate over.
If the only way to achieve her revenge against Cassius and his goddess was to love his very aunt, then Theophane would willingly drink from the poisoned well that was love, letting it seep into her heart and fester there until it grew strong enough to kill the very tyrant who had given it to her.
So she smiled, a hint of madness akin to Seraphim’s own flickering deep in her white eyes, and took the contract.
Theophane then signed the Death Contract and officially accepted Seraphim Hood’s terms, leaving everything related to Cassius behind.
’Ah. At least I have already entered the mind of his maid. That’s my last surprise for you, Cassius.’
"Now we are lovers," Theophane said.
"No." Seraphim smirked and pulled Theophane closer. "You are my toy."
"Toy of the Princess," Theophane said, turning towards Sea, "and wife of Sea Wealth."
"About right." Sea nodded.
"Then what are you to us?" Theophane asked.
"Your husband," the Heir of Wealth said. Then he looked at Seraphim. "And the princess’s sex toy. Interesting."
"You have a weird fetish, Sea," the White Witch added.
Sea chuckled. "One I have only just discovered. Indeed, interesting." Then he walked towards the bed and picked up his phone. "Now that it’s all settled, I still need to inform my family, meaning my sister, about our relationship. As for you, Sera, I don’t think we need to disclose our relationship with you, right?"
She nodded. "No need."
Seraphim stood up then, and Theophane followed. Sea threw a towel to the latter, and the White Witch wiped the tears from her face.
"Stop whoring yourself out, by the way," Seraphim added, looking at Theophane. "You are mine."
"I know," Theophane muttered, closing her eyes as she tried to grasp what kind of damned relationship she had found herself in, with two of the least expected people. "I suppose we will be together a lot."
"Of course," Sera said. "You will come to my room at the Academy often. Your lips taste sweet."
Theophane’s heart beat faster, and she looked away.
Unconsciously recalling the kiss she had shared with Sera, her body grew hotter, desire burning mercilessly through her mind, leaving nothing behind but the image of Sera’s face and lips and...
"Stop fantasizing about me, girl." Sera’s voice jolted Theophane’s mind, bringing her back to the current situation.
She smiled dryly. ’I am doomed.’
"Ahem." She cleared her throat. "Stealing Fates." Her voice turned serious, her hands clenching. "I will need your help, Sea."
"You will have it."
"And you," Theophane turned to the Princess. "You... you said you would help me with the Stormblessed. Is that true?"
’If I can’t have my revenge on Cassius for now, I will have it on the Stormblessed. My sister... I want my sister back, and I want that pervert Ulrich to pay.’
"Oh?" Seraphim arched her crimson eyebrows. "Of course it’s true. Do you want to go against them?"
"With all my heart."
"Why?"
"I hate that family for what Ulrich did to my sister, and for what he did to me."
"To you?"
"He lusted after me. He captured me in order to... abuse me." Theophane’s face tightened. "But I escaped. And that was the day I met Sea, in the street. That was totally random, but I admit everything after that was on purpose, to get close to you."
"Lusting after my toy?" Seraphim’s crimson eyes went blank. "That’s not good. Only Sea can do that besides me. I have one more reason to go against them, then."
Theophane shouldn’t have been happy. But Vorn take her soul, she felt a flicker of joy seeing the princess react like this for her.
"One more?" she echoed, trying to hide her joy. "What was the first?"
"My Family is not very fond of the Stormblessed," Seraphim said.
There was a silence after that, but not an uncomfortable one. At least, not like before.
Theophane and Sera had both found a common enemy to focus on as they navigated their new relationship and their plan to learn how to steal Fates.
All of that with Sea planning to help them in his own way, now that both women were with him.
"Tomorrow, I need to go back to the Academy," Theophane broke the silence, "and... look for a way to steal Fates."
’The gods... I might ask one of them, for a price,’ she added inwardly.
"I will go back too," Seraphim replied, walking towards Sea. "We might go together, who knows. But for now,"
She smiled.
"What do you think about a little threesome to celebrate our new relationship?"
The Princess walked towards Sea, who was sitting at the edge of the bed, on his phone.
He turned, looked at Seraphim, and smiled, deeply enjoying this. "Now that I think about it, I am quite lucky."
"You definitely are," Sera said. She reached him and pushed him, causing him to fall back onto the bed.
She paused there and turned her head to stare at Theophane, who was still frozen.
The princess’s smile deepened, and she pulled off the long shirt she had been wearing. Her chest was now bare, her breasts on full display, along with all the scars marring her body.
Only her underwear was left on her perfectly toned body, a sight that brought Theophane Celeste to the edge of losing her self-control.
"Come. Strip me naked, and kiss me," the Princess said, her eyes glowing with desire. "This time, I want your lips on my lower lips. It’s my first time with a woman. Don’t disappoint me."
Theophane Celeste stood stunned for a good while, completely frozen.
Her eyes remained transfixed on Seraphim before slowly shifting toward Sea, whose muscular body was laid bare before her gaze.
Seeing the two of them waiting for her made her heart pound against her chest like a horse in heat catching sight of a mate after years of longing.
In the end, she lost the battle against her own self-control.
She walked toward the two of them, and a crack of a smile spread across her divinely beautiful face.
"As you wish. My body is yours."
Theophane Celeste stripped, leaving only her silver-laced underwear.
"Take me."
’If this is the price I must pay to save myself and my sister, then I can sacrifice my body for their pleasure.’
But was she really making a sacrifice?
Theophane chose not to look too deeply into that question before reaching Seraphim.
And so, the Princess of Hood, the Prince of Wealth, and the White Witch officially began their twisted relationship, their hearts and minds alike sick with desire.
