Legend of Wyatt
Chapter 3042: Astral Sand
"This bottle of liquid is a rare material required for refining an Emperor Grade Immortal Artifact related to soul defense... As for the other bottle, it’s a rare material needed by Immortal Sovereign experts for crafting some powerful Immortal Talismans."
Upon hearing Wyatt Barnes’s inquiry and seeing those two bottles of liquid, the Sect Leader of Celestial Sect, Liam Davidson, appropriately introduced them.
Wyatt Barnes came to realize.
No wonder these two bottles of liquid could appear in the treasury of Celestial Sect. Just their uses alone make them rare treasures even within the entire South Heaven’s Borderlands.
"It seems there’s nothing particularly desirable..."
As time passed, with Liam Davidson’s introduction, Wyatt Barnes gained a certain understanding of the hundreds of treasures within Celestial Sect.
However, after understanding, he found that there was nothing in particular he desired.
"This Wyatt Barnes hasn’t taken a liking to any of them?"
Seeing Wyatt Barnes slightly frown, his gaze sweeping over the hundreds of treasures in the treasury, Liam Davidson couldn’t help but feel speechless.
He could tell Wyatt Barnes was not in a state of difficulty choosing multiple treasures he wanted.
It was more like he hadn’t taken a liking to a single one.
This made him feel a bit defeated.
Is this Wyatt Barnes truly a Loose Cultivator?
Since when did Loose Cultivators have such high standards? So picky?
"Harmony Divine Soil, what do you think... what should I choose from the remaining items?"
Wyatt Barnes truly didn’t know what to choose, and in the end, he thought of Harmony Divine Soil and asked.
"Don’t ask me, I also don’t know what to choose... The remaining items, though considered treasures in Celestial Sect, to me, aren’t much."
Harmony Divine Soil replied.
Just as Wyatt Barnes heard Harmony Divine Soil’s words and was about to randomly select something, another voice rang out from within him:
"To your right hand, the red box with gold edges... choose that one."
This was an elderly voice, not unfamiliar to Wyatt Barnes. He could recognize it as the voice of Chaos Divine Fire.
"Senior, you... you’re awake?"
Wyatt Barnes was a bit surprised.
That day, to make the main branch of the Divine Tree acknowledge him, Chaos Divine Fire and the Supreme Mystery Divine Metal went to great lengths, expending too much energy, causing them to fall back into slumber.
"Hmm."
Chaos Divine Fire responded, but its voice lacked the vigor of the past, sounding slightly listless.
"Senior, the red box seems to contain a material for refining Emperor Grade Immortal Artifacts, known as ’Astral Sand.’
Wyatt Barnes recalled Liam Davidson previously introducing the contents of the red box, and he had also seen it was filled with sand particles, not many, and could be held in one hand.
"Hmm."
Chaos Divine Fire responded again, adding, "This Astral Sand helps your sea of consciousness integrate with the strand of Sword Spirit within and your Divine Sword, speeding up the fusion process."
Hearing this, Wyatt Barnes’s eyes lit up.
Feng’er, though previously the Sword Spirit of a Top-grade Divine Sword, was ultimately the Sword Spirit of another Divine Sword. To fully integrate with his own Exquisite Seven Apertures Sword required a long time.
Though he had accepted this fact long ago, deep in his heart, he naturally hoped for a quicker fusion of Feng’er and the Exquisite Seven Apertures Sword, as it would be like having an extra helper once they were merged.
The spirit of a divine artifact can exist independently of it and can take human form, indistinguishable from normal people.
"How do I use this Astral Sand?"
Wyatt Barnes asked curiously.
"Once you’ve obtained the Astral Sand, how to use it afterwards, don’t worry, just leave it to me."
Chaos Divine Fire advised.
With Chaos Divine Fire’s words, Wyatt Barnes immediately decided on the Astral Sand as his second treasure, reaching out to take the box containing it.
"That’s a refining material. Although it can create an Emperor Grade Immortal Artifact, if truly used for that purpose, you would still need many other materials of the same level..."
Seeing Wyatt Barnes pick up the box, Liam Davidson timely reminded him.
"I know."
Wyatt Barnes nodded, glancing at the box in his hands. "Sect Leader, my second chosen item is this one."
Thus, Wyatt Barnes selected two items he desired from the treasury of Celestial Sect, fulfilling the promise made by Vice Sect Leader Grant Graham, on the condition that he enter Celestial Sect.
"Sect Leader, we can leave now."
After putting away the box with the Astral Sand, Wyatt Barnes turned to Liam Davidson and said.
Liam Davidson originally thought that after confirming the second item, Wyatt Barnes would consider selecting a third, but he didn’t expect Wyatt Barnes to want to leave after obtaining the second item.
"Wyatt Barnes, you can take one more item."
Liam Davidson, although somewhat speechless, still patiently reminded.
"Sect Leader, thank you for your kindness... The remaining items are not suitable for me. Otherwise, I would certainly ask you for a favor."
Wyatt Barnes smiled and said.
If there really was a third item he wanted in the Treasure Vault of the Embrace Simplicity Sect, he would have taken it, even if it meant owing the Sect Leader a favor.
But the problem was, there was nothing he wanted.
In this situation, he naturally could not ask for a favor from the Sect Leader of the Embrace Simplicity Sect.
Seeing Wyatt Barnes insist, even though mentally prepared, Liam Davidson was still somewhat helpless...
The treasures collected over the years in the Treasure Vault of the Embrace Simplicity Sect, yet they were so unattractive in the eyes of this purple-robed youth under a hundred years old?
In the end, Liam Davidson could only take Wyatt Barnes away from the Treasure Vault of the Embrace Simplicity Sect with disappointment.
As they left, he activated a teleportation formation again, and when Wyatt’s vision brightened, he found himself back in front of the altar.
On the altar, the statue stood quietly, lifelike, but the eyes and the sword in its hands had returned to tranquility.
"Let’s go."
Immediately after, Liam Davidson led Wyatt Barnes back along the path.
"The Treasure Vault of the Embrace Simplicity Sect may not be in this place... With a teleportation formation, it could be as far as hundreds of thousands, or even a million miles away."
On the way back, Wyatt Barnes thought to himself.
Although he had now technically visited the Treasure Vault of the Embrace Simplicity Sect, he was teleported there via a formation, and had no idea of the specific location of the vault.
Even Liam Davidson, the Sect Leader, likely did not know the exact location of the Treasure Vault.
"Sect Leader, do you know the specific location of the Treasure Vault?"
Wyatt Barnes asked out of curiosity.
Hearing Wyatt’s question, Liam Davidson’s steps paused momentarily before he continued to lead the way ahead, "Why do you ask?"
"Since we need to use a teleportation formation to reach the vault, I think that vault may not be in this place... The altar, and the formations along the way, should just be the first barrier, right?"
Wyatt Barnes said while deeply looking at Liam Davidson, "The most important barrier is still that teleportation formation... or rather, the key is how to open the teleportation formation."
"Wyatt Barnes, you not only have extraordinary talent and comprehension but also intelligence far surpassing ordinary people..."
After listening to Wyatt Barnes, Liam Davidson couldn’t help but sigh with admiration.
And this sigh of his undoubtedly was a sideways admission that Wyatt Barnes had guessed correctly.
"Are you... really just a loose cultivator?"
When Liam Davidson looked at Wyatt Barnes again, his eyes flashed with intense suspicion.
He had to doubt.
Wyatt Barnes’ talent and comprehension were not something an ordinary loose cultivator could possess.
Apart from talent and comprehension, loose cultivators usually have not seen much of the world or many treasures, yet Wyatt Barnes found nothing appealing in their Treasure Vault.
This situation made him have to suspect that Wyatt Barnes had an impressive background, which was why he looked down upon the various treasures in their Treasure Vault.
Now, Wyatt’s clear analysis that their Treasure Vault was not in this place, but far away, made him witness Wyatt’s calmness and wisdom.
Is such a character really a loose cultivator?
Even the most outstanding young talents nurtured by the Immortal Emperor of South Heaven in the South Heaven’s Borderlands might not be as impressive as Wyatt Barnes?
Maybe even less so than Wyatt Barnes!
"Sect Leader, I am indeed a loose cultivator... Plus, I entered the Embrace Simplicity Sect with the intention of heading to the Mystic Abyss Mansion. Whether or not I am a loose cultivator should make no difference to the Embrace Simplicity Sect, right?"
Wyatt Barnes countered with a question at the end.
"That’s true..."
Upon hearing Wyatt Barnes firmly state that he is a loose cultivator and add that remark at the end, Liam Davidson, the Sect Leader of the Embrace Simplicity Sect, felt his thoughts waver once again.
Could it be that Wyatt Barnes really was a loose cultivator?
After pondering for a while and recalling Wyatt’s additional remark, he felt relieved and ceased to think any further.
As Wyatt Barnes mentioned, regardless of whether he’s a loose cultivator or not, it makes little difference to the Embrace Simplicity Sect.
After exiting the complex underground passage, the dazzling light that met Wyatt’s eyes gave him a feeling of ’seeing the light of day again.’
"Wyatt Barnes, this is the true disciple token of our Embrace Simplicity Sect... There are only ten in the entire Embrace Simplicity Sect."
Just as they emerged, Wyatt Barnes heard Liam Davidson’s voice in his ear.
Turning his head, he saw that Liam Davidson had produced a token—seemingly made of wood—in his hand, around which faint green threads were entwined, resembling little green snakes.
"Besides you, the other nine true disciples are all at least Immortal Lords of the Five Elements... Of course, in our Embrace Simplicity Sect, true disciples are primarily judged on their talent rather than their cultivation."
"Moreover, in the history of our Embrace Simplicity Sect, you are the second person to become a true disciple based solely on your cultivation as an Upper Immortal."
