Legend of Wyatt

Chapter 3057: I Killed Him

  • Next Chapter

In the realm of Mystic Abyss Mansion, at the Embrace Purity Immortal Sect.

Within a secluded valley, Bradley Clark and Ruby King sat across from each other at the same stone table, waiting for the assassin from the Blood Skeleton Clan to report back.

“Why is it taking so long?”

Ruby King frowned, “Given his strength, killing Wyatt Barnes should be effortless… By now, he should have sent news back.”

“I think so too.”

Bradley Clark also felt the assassin from the Blood Skeleton Clan was slow to act, “He wouldn’t, after I sent him a message, still be paranoid, taking time to confirm that Wyatt Barnes didn’t call for reinforcements, would he?”

“It’s not impossible.”

Ruby King said.

“You should urge him on with a message.”

Ruby King reminded.

Bradley Clark nodded.

The next moment, as Ruby King watched Bradley Clark, waiting for him to message the assassin from the Blood Skeleton Clan, she noticed Bradley’s expression suddenly change.

“What is it?”

Ruby King frowned, a sense of foreboding already creeping into her heart.

“He… he’s dead!”

Bradley Clark’s voice trembled as he spoke, his body also shivered slightly, his pupils contracting as if he had discovered something terrifying.

“What?!”

Just as Ruby King was startled by Bradley Clark’s words, she timely saw him raise his hand, revealing a shattered Soul Bead.

At the same time, Bradley Clark’s voice continued, “This… this was the Soul Bead of the assassin from the Blood Skeleton Clan, through which I was in contact with him.”

“Dead… Dead? How… how is this possible!”

Ruby King’s face was filled with disbelief, “Could it be that Wyatt Barnes really contacted your master for help? And your master didn’t let the strong ones from the sect’s residence intervene, but rather sent those strong ones outside the sect to act?”

Now, Ruby King could only guess like that.

She could never dream that the assassin from the Blood Skeleton Clan had been killed by Wyatt Barnes himself.

“I don’t know…”

Bradley Clark shook his head, his face in a daze, unable to come around for a while.

“Contact Young Master Holland whom you know… The death of the assassin from the Blood Skeleton Clan will surely be known immediately by those in the organization. Plus, the assassin probably sent a message back before dying.”

Ruby King was the first to calm down, timely reminding Bradley Clark.

Hearing this, Bradley Clark took out another Soul Bead, communicating with the owner of the soul imprint on it using an Immortal Talisman.

The owner of this Soul Bead was none other than Lima Holland, the illegitimate child of the Vice Leader of the Blood Skeleton assassin organization.

“Young Master Holland… the assassin from your Blood Skeleton organization, the Soul Bead left here with me has shattered, indicating he’s dead.”

Bradley Clark straightforwardly asked through the message: “Do you have any information he sent back?”

After sending the message, Bradley Clark waited along with Ruby King.

“Bradley Clark… do you think the assassin from the Blood Skeleton managed to kill Wyatt Barnes before his demise?”

Ruby King looked at Bradley Clark and asked.

“I don’t know.”

Bradley Clark shook his head, “We still need to wait for Young Master Holland to respond to find out what happened before the assassin from the Blood Skeleton organization died.”

“Now, we can only hope that the assassin from the Blood Skeleton organization managed to send back a message to their organization before being killed.”

After speaking, Bradley Clark continued to wait.

Ruby King nodded, said no more, and waited with him.

Time slipped by quietly, and the expressions on both Bradley Clark and Ruby King’s faces gradually became more solemn.

“Here it comes!”

Suddenly, Bradley Clark’s eyes lit up, and Ruby King’s gaze followed suit, immediately looking towards Bradley Clark.

The next moment, they saw Bradley Clark’s face suddenly darken, his eyes flickering, and his expression becoming uncertain.

“What happened?”

Ruby King inquired.

However, Bradley Clark did not respond to her; he was immersed in the shock brought by Lima Holland’s message.

“Bradley Clark, the assassin we sent from the Blood Skeleton failed… According to the rules of our Blood Skeleton assassin organization, the mission will continue, but the reward is halved.”

“The assassin that failed has already received half of the original reward as a deposit, which now counts as the full payment for this mission, and you don’t need to pay any additional reward.”

“We, the Blood Skeleton, will continue to send assassins to deal with Wyatt Barnes… However, if necessary, we may need your cooperation.”

This was the message from Lima Holland.

“Young Master Holland, do you know who killed that assassin? Was it a strong person from our Embrace Purity Immortal Sect?”

After hearing Lima Holland’s message, Bradley Clark asked immediately.

“No.”

Lima Holland responded indifferently, then added a sentence that dispelled all of Bradley Clark’s suspicions, “How he died is something you don’t need to concern yourself with… You only need to know that we, the Blood Skeleton, will continue with this mission.”

Hearing this, Bradley Clark’s expression remained uncertain, but he dared not ask any more questions.

“Bradley Clark, has Young Master Holland replied to you?”

Ruby King asked again.

“Mm.”

At this point, Bradley Clark came back to his senses and nodded, “Young Master Holland said that the assassin failed… However, the Blood Skeleton Clan will continue to send assassins until Wyatt Barnes is killed!”

“Failed?”

Ruby King’s expression darkened, “Did he say how he failed? Was the assassin from the Blood Skeleton Clan killed by our sect’s Immortal King expert?”

“I asked all that, but he didn’t say. He only told me Blood Skeleton would keep pursuing this task until Wyatt Barnes is dead.”

Bradley Clark said.

As his words fell, Bradley also looked at Ruby King and said, “Don’t worry… Even if Blood Skeleton’s assassins are killed, they won’t expose you and me.”

“I naturally trust Blood Skeleton Clan’s reputation in this regard.”

Ruby King spoke while giving Bradley a half-smile, “Bradley Clark, as far as I know, the Blood Skeleton Clan has a rule…”

“A task, once it fails the first time, even if they continue to pursue it later, the reward is halved, right?”

Ruby King stated, then gave Bradley Clark a deep look.

Upon hearing Ruby King’s words, Bradley Clark realized he would have to bleed regardless. After a sigh, he took out two ordinary purely defensive King Grade Immortal Artifacts and gave them to Ruby King.

Ruby King accepted them with satisfaction.

“Ruby King, Young Master Holland has mentioned… The assassins from Blood Skeleton Clan coming later might still seek our assistance.”

“If you don’t want to get further entangled in this matter, return these two King Grade Immortal Artifacts to me, and I’ll cooperate with them alone.”

Bradley Clark was somewhat pained about those two King Grade Immortal Artifacts, attempting to reclaim them.

“Hmph!”

However, Ruby King’s response was only a mocking laugh, “Bradley Clark, Blood Skeleton Clan is destined not to sell me out, and you can’t sell me out either… Within the limits of capability, cooperating with them to kill Wyatt Barnes, what harm is there?”

Ruby King spoke while putting away the two King Grade Immortal Artifacts.

“Ruby King, if I remember correctly…”

Suddenly, Bradley seemed to recall something, and his face changed abruptly, “The purely defensive King Grade Immortal Artifact, nurtured by an Immortal Sovereign expert, which you gave to the assassin from Blood Skeleton Clan, seems to be the one the Grand Elder obtained from Mystic Abyss Mansion back in the days, isn’t it?”

“Hmm?”

Ruby King looked at Bradley in confusion, unsure why he had such a change in expression over this.

“Since the assassin is dead, his Storage Ring is most likely in the hands of the person who killed him… If that person is our sect’s Immortal King expert, and they get his Storage Ring, discovering the King Grade Immortal Artifact inside, isn’t it possible they might recognize it’s the Grand Elder’s King Grade Immortal Artifact?”

Bradley’s expression was grave as he looked at Ruby King, speaking in a deep voice.

Upon hearing Bradley’s words, Ruby King’s expression also changed, realizing the seriousness of the situation.

The King Grade Immortal Artifact she gave to the assassin from Blood Skeleton Clan was the Immortal Artifact given to her by her grandfather, and most of the Immortal King and above existences within the sect knew her grandfather had such an Immortal Artifact.

“Ruby King, I think… this matter, you should discuss with your grandfather. If the matter is exposed, without your grandfather’s help, you might find it hard to get through.”

Bradley Clark anxiously reminded.

If Ruby King couldn’t get through this matter, with her personality, she would definitely involve him as well.

That’s something he didn’t want to see.

“I’ll go find my grandfather now…”

Almost as Bradley finished speaking, Ruby King had already soared into the air, on her way to find her grandfather, the sect’s Grand Elder.

“I never thought killing just one peak Love Rowan Upper Immortal would cause such a series of complications… If the one who killed the assassin from Blood Skeleton Clan really was our sect’s Immortal King expert, they’re probably already reporting to Master.”

After Ruby King left, Bradley Clark’s expression became increasingly grave.

Meanwhile.

As Wyatt Barnes returned to the sect’s location, he went directly to find the Sect Leader Liam Davidson.

“Wyatt Barnes, what’s the matter?”

Liam Davidson asked.

“Sect Leader…”

Wyatt’s eyes flickered as he detailed the earlier scenario where he lured and killed the assassin from Blood Skeleton Clan to Liam Davidson.

“What?!”

“Blood Skeleton Clan?!”

…

Upon hearing that Wyatt Barnes was lured out by assassins from Blood Skeleton Clan, aiming to kill him, Liam Davidson’s expression completely changed.

“Why didn’t you tell me at the time?”

Liam Davidson asked.

“I was worried Leilany was truly in his hands, and if I told you, he might find out and put Leilany in danger.”

Wyatt Barnes explained.

“What happened then?”

Liam Davidson asked again.

Though he felt a sense of unease, since Wyatt Barnes had returned safely, it suggested Wyatt had a near miss this time.

“Then…”

Cold light sparkled in Wyatt’s eyes, and his voice became void of any emotion, “I killed him.”
