Legendary Beast Tamer: Starting With Legendary Rank Sword
Chapter 179: Terrifying Two Fingers
The Upper Cliff Cave that Felix entered turned out to be long and spacious.
However, given their numbers, they found it too constricted to fight as a team.
The team fought for five rounds against Abyss Bats, and just as they advanced deeper, they inevitably hit the wall with no alternative routes.
Felix had expected it to happen. Just before they entered the cave, he observed the environment inside and noticed that the presence inhabiting the cave was mostly similar, albeit large in numbers.
They turned around, and this time, after concluding that his team members’ fighting ability had considerably improved after their first battle, he decided to enter a much larger cave.
He stood below the cave and took some time to perceive its aura.
Strong winds howled from the cave, which took him by surprise.
The temperature from the wind varied as well.
In a minute, a cold wind struck him, and another five minutes later, a hot wind billowed against his face.
He pondered heavily, perplexing his team members for taking an hour to deliberate.
They couldn’t help but feel anxious after noticing Felix wearing a heavy expression.
If he, who was more powerful than them, was contemplating heavily and seemed to experience an internal strife, how could they expect to survive entering the cave without dying?
Finally, after an hour, Felix turned around and was about to express his conclusion when he was taken aback by their expression.
Moon suddenly informed him of how their expression changed when she was observing them, and he couldn’t help but force himself to laugh loudly.
He had to lighten the heavy atmosphere, after all.
He said, "I was just analyzing the cave from afar. I’ve finally concluded that we can enter and explore the cave.
Don’t worry, when things are about to become serious..."
Felix summoned Ashen and raised her bow for them to see.
"I will step in and save you and your beasts."
The beast tamers and beasts themselves felt relieved when they saw Felix’s bow.
While some did not witness Felix’s bow during the demon creatures’ invasion, they at least managed to catch a glimpse of Felix taking out a bunch of Razorwing Harpies earlier.
Staring at the cave’s mouth, despite some hesitation, they were finally convinced to follow Felix, who was the first to enter.
When they arrived at the entrance of the cave’s mouth, some were taken aback by the strong winds billowing at them.
The winds contained demonic energy that flickered their Auras, and they were horrified.
However, staring at Felix and his beasts with their Aura as stable as still water, they were flabbergasted.
In the end, they could only gather around the cave’s mouth, needing some time to get used to its environment.
Felix noticed no presence following him, and without having to turn around, Moon already informed him of his members’ activities.
That was why he did not rush them, but he did not wait for them, either.
He decided to explore the cave’s mouth by himself first.
He had already stored Ashen and only utilized his vision to adjust to the darkness.
At the same time, he noticed a crystal formation very similar to what could commonly be seen in the black cliffs.
But what he had found was a creature inhabiting the crystal veins.
He walked closer to the wall and scrutinized the creature inside the crystal veins.
It looks like leeches.
Just as he thought, a huge creature broke through the cave wall and was about to swallow him whole.
It appeared to be the larger version of the leeches inhabiting the crystal veins, similar to the sandworm beast in his real world.
Its circular mouth contained razor-sharp teeth that rotated until the very center, seemingly endless.
At such a distance, Felix was surely about to be eaten whole, and he appeared to be frozen.
However, he suddenly raised two of his fingers and compressed his Aura until the latter was able to form a transparent sword made out of water energy.
His Sword Intent took form and instantly slashed through the body of the enormous leech.
Felix’s River Strikes ran rampant, slicing the enormous leech’s body into pieces.
The enormous leech, now cut into two, passed through Felix without spilling a drop of blood upon him.
Felix’s face remained indifferent as his curiosity was piqued by the hole left behind by the leeches.
He saw countless crystal veins and crystal fields inside, brimming with demonic energy.
Guide’s voice echoed in his mind.
[The crystal veins are a treasure for the intelligent natives in this world.
It’s akin to an energy crystal.
It might not be useful for you and other beast tamers as the demonic crystal contained pure demonic energy, but it’s definitely useful for Mia to cultivate once she becomes a demonic cultivator.]
Felix was surprised.
He asked, "Do you notice the presence of an intelligent native that could plunder the demonic crystal network?"
[Have you forgotten the native who observed you from afar? Their underling that was taken down by Moon?
Those were the intelligent natives.
However, you don’t have to worry about the lack of demonic energy crystal for Mia. Just given the demonic energy density in the world, it is clear that the intelligent natives could not exhaust the entire demonic crystal even if they are given a millennium.]
Felix nodded. That makes sense.
Felix observed the hole for a while, and after noticing that there was nothing that could catch his attention, he finally decided to walk deeper into the cave.
Not even ten minutes later, after gauging that he had walked two hundred meters deep, he stumbled upon the nest of the Cliff Shadow Howlers.
At the moment, they appeared to be in deep slumber, seemingly feeling full after satisfying their stomachs.
Felix gauged their appearance and understood that he did not encounter them at all.
Because if he did, they wouldn’t have been sleeping peacefully with his presence.
Felix’s Aura was also masking his presence.
Unless the Cliff Shadow Howlers woke up and glanced at him, Felix’s presence was unnoticeable at all.
Felix swept his gaze around and spotted three deeper cave entrances.
The right cave was howling with stronger winds, giving Felix an idea that it went deeper.
Felix glanced at the Cliff Shadow Howlers and turned his head around, sensing no presence of his team members entering the cave.
However, he could still notice their presence, seemingly getting used to the howling winds.
He shook his head and said to Moon through telepathy, "Stay here. Don’t kill the Cliff Shadow Howlers, but once they fight against the Cliff Shadow Howlers, don’t allow a single one of them to die."
Moon nodded and jumped from his shoulder, landing on the cold floor.
She gracefully walked around and after finding a place where she could be spotted by the beast tamers and their beasts, she laid down and slept.
Felix simply smiled. He understood that Moon might have been exhausted after the long hours of battle earlier.
Felix was exhausted as well, but he couldn’t restrain his curiosity and desire to fight against powerful demonic creatures.
Felix didn’t disturb the Cliff Shadow Howlers, and using the Ashen Step technique, blurring his existence as though he was only a spark, he successfully went past the pack and arrived in the right cave.
Afterward, while Ember was feeling tense after noticing that the demonic energy increased, Felix disappeared inside.
After an hour, Felix’s team members finally entered the cave.
They wore a heavy expression, and they appeared extremely meticulous.
Most of them wanted to complain to Felix for leaving them behind, but they could not utter a single word, lest they disturb the native creature inside.
Following Felix’s suggestion earlier on their exploration to the first cave, they did not illuminate the cave too much and had to get used to their vision in the darkness.
The first hundred meters of depth they crossed went without an encounter with an Abyss Bat, which only grew their anxiousness.
If Abyss Bats were absent, then the existence residing inside the cave was definitely more powerful than them.
They already had a hard time fighting against numerous Abyss Bats, and yet they had to fight against a group of creatures far stronger than them.
As terror was slowly swallowing them—one beast tamer turning around and retreating would have caused a chain reaction—a beast suddenly shrieked in rejoice.
The beast possessed reconnaissance abilities and detected Moon’s presence, leisurely lying around and even sleeping in the open area.
The leading beast tamer immediately rushed towards Moon.
Sensing the vibration echoing on the floor where Moon was sleeping, she was annoyed and stood up, staring at the beast tamer with eyes glinting coldly.
The leading beast tamer immediately stopped rushing and politely greeted Moon.
They were aware of Moon’s capability.
Not a single beast tamer and beast present could handle her lethality.
The beast tamers and beasts stood in formation in front of Moon, with the latter finally deciding to communicate with the beast who could understand her language.
The beast immediately conveyed the message to the beast tamer, who took some time to finally share the message to her fellow beast tamers in a hushed tone.
"In front of us are a pack of Cliff Shadow Howlers.
Leader Felix has entered deeper into one of the caves past them.
He wanted us to fight against the Cliff Shadow Howlers.
Moon will look after us.
...she said."
The beast tamers and beasts were dumbfounded.
Yet, they could not complain nor retreat...
As Moon indeed had the capability to protect them in danger, especially against the Cliff Shadow Howlers...
