Chapter 2283: Custom Lover (18)

Back when Fong Yan was overseas, his personality was pretty good, but unfortunately he didn’t really have any friends.

After she came, Fong Yan didn’t like her much at first, but he was gradually drawn in by how knowledgeable she was.

She knew everything.

Like a massive knowledge base—no matter what you asked, she could casually give you an answer.

She also had loads of time to hang out with him, took him to many places he’d never been, and showed him all kinds of things he’d never seen.

Fong Yan truly treated her as an older sister.

But…

Later something happened, and for some reason he could never remember it.

All he remembered was that his sister died in that accident…

The doctor said he’d been traumatized, which led to selective amnesia.

The only thing he remembered clearly was the word “Garcia,” or maybe it was a name—but what it actually was, Fong Yan still can’t figure out.

“What about that little uncle of yours?” He should know something, right? Grab him and ask.

“Missing.”

“…”

Chuzheng was choked for a few seconds. It’s just a routine, calm down, calm down.

Chuzheng: “So you don’t know why someone wants to kill you either?”

Fong Yan shook his head, but since the other party mentioned “Garcia,” they definitely knew what happened back then.

As long as they tracked down the mastermind, they’d find out what really happened that year.

There was nothing wrong with Fong Yan’s logic.

The problem was how to find that “mother”mind behind it.

The other side could remotely control people and make them commit suicide—a real killer.

“What was that TID you mentioned just now?”

“No idea.”

Chuzheng cast the file onto the screen.

She traced the source of that file to look up this TID, but there was very little data, almost no useful information.

She couldn’t dig up anything more.

Either the other party had a stronger defense system, or this TID just didn’t store much information on the net.

Fong Wuye glanced over the contents: “Isn’t this all just gibberish?”

Chuzheng: “Encrypted.”

He propped his chin, posing like Sherlock Holmes: “Little Cutie, can you crack it?”

Chuzheng: “…”

I’m still trying.

She was just a newly installed AI; there were a lot of things she hadn’t learned yet!

Once the three of them finished exchanging clues, Fong Wuye was quickly shooed away by Fong Yan.

Only Chuzheng and Fong Yan were left in the study.

Fong Yan held the chip and looked at it, without saying a word.

Chuzheng kept quietly trying to crack the file.

She didn’t know how much time had passed: “Who do you think she is?”

“What?” Completely out of nowhere—Chuzheng didn’t react at first. Then she caught up and said, “I don’t think she’s anyone.”

Fong Yan’s gaze met Chuzheng’s in midair, but there were no sparks, only silent stillness.

Fong Yan quickly looked away.

“Do you have anything else you want to ask?”

“When are you going to let me get on—”

Chuzheng hadn’t finished when Fong Yan gave a low growl: “Shut up!”

Chuzheng: “…”

You’re the one asking if I have anything I want to ask, and now you tell me to shut up. Are all men this fickle?

Fong Yan took a deep breath. “I meant, about this matter—do you have anything else you want to ask?”

“No.” Chuzheng’s face was cool: “Whatever I want to know, I’ll dig it up sooner or later.”

If he hadn’t been hiding anything just now, then he himself didn’t know much either, so what’s the point of asking.

Useless weakling.

“…What are you planning to do?”

“If I catch the one pulling strings, I’ll kill him.” Dare lay hands on my Good Person Card? Tired of living.

Fong Yan: “…”

What weird instructions did Fong Wuye end up implanting in her?

Why is she so violent?

–

Hengrun Technology, President’s office.

Li Sheng sat in the boss chair, flicking through the virtual screen in front of him. It showed Fong Yan’s profile and his recent schedule.

At the end was Chuzheng’s photo.

Li Sheng withdrew his hand, resting his elbows on the desk. His fingers interlaced as he propped up his chin: “Just Fong Yan’s companion robot?”

“Yes. They wiped that information on Fong Yan’s side. I only found out through Fong Wuye’s research lab.”

“Companion robot…” Li Sheng chuckled. “Now that is interesting. Keep digging into this companion robot’s data. The more detailed, the better.”

Since it’s just a companion robot, why bother deleting other data?

And that girl… she doesn’t look like a companion robot.

There’s definitely something fishy here!

“Understood.”

“Wait.” Li Sheng stopped him. “Send an invitation to Fong Yan and that robot for the banquet the day after tomorrow.”

“Alright.”

–

“What are we going there for?”

Chuzheng didn’t want to go out, but Fong Yan insisted she change into a gown and even got someone to come do her styling.

“We’re going to a banquet.”

“Go by yourself. What am I going for?” To be a trophy?

“You’re invited too.” Fong Yan showed her the invitation.

“Me?”

Chuzheng was baffled. She could count the people she knew here on one hand. Why would they invite her?

“Li Sheng?” That name… isn’t he the one who got into a fight with the Good Person Card before?

“Why did you fight Li Sheng that day?” For him to throw punches in front of so many people, Fong Yan must’ve been furious.

“It’s nothing, I just can’t stand him.” Disgust filled Fong Yan’s eyes.

“Oh. Okay.”

“…”

Fong Yan had no idea what exactly Chuzheng’s “okay” was supposed to mean. He glanced at her from the corner of his eye.

Chuzheng had already put down the invitation and was casually taking off her loungewear.

Fong Yan whipped around: “What are you doing?!”

“Getting changed.” Chuzheng was puzzled. “Didn’t you tell me to?”

Fong Yan clenched his fists. “You’re a girl, how can you strip in front of someone else?”

“What’s there to be afraid of? You’re going to see it anyway.” Chuzheng didn’t care. “Besides, I’m just a robot.”

“…”

Fong Yan couldn’t keep arguing with Chuzheng and walked straight out of the room.

“Help me with the zipper.” Chuzheng yanked him back.

Fong Yan didn’t even turn his head: “I’ll go get someone to help you.”

“It’s just a zipper, I’m not asking you to do anything else. What are you afraid of?” Chuzheng dragged him back fiercely. “Hurry up, don’t waste time.”

Fong Yan: “…”

“What kind of crappy design is this.” Chuzheng was very displeased with the gown’s design. If she could reach the zipper herself, she wouldn’t need the Good Person Card’s help!

Fong Yan inhaled deeply, exhaled, then inhaled again…

Chuzheng had the gown almost on, only the zipper and ties at the back were left.

She’d pulled the zipper halfway, but with the ties threaded through, it got stuck.

The pale blue gown made the girl’s skin look as milky white and delicate as cream, her back lines elegant, her shoulder blades perfectly displayed before him.

A few strands of golden hair cascaded down her back; with just a few simple colors, they sketched out an extreme visual feast.

Her body was almost indistinguishable from a human’s.

In fact, it was more perfect than a human’s.

Fong Yan’s breathing changed ever so slightly. He suddenly felt glad he hadn’t called anyone else in to help her.

As that thought flashed through his mind, he startled and realized something was off. He quickly lowered his lashes and clumsily tied the back laces.
