Chapter 2296: Chapter 2296: Custom Lover (31)
"Intrusion alarm in Zone F!"
"Intrusion alarm in Zone F!"
The alarm sounded throughout the facility. People in different rooms simultaneously stopped their work and looked upward.
Uniformly equipped robots quickly moved toward the location where the alarm was triggered.
However, as soon as they reached the corridor, all robots simultaneously froze. The next second, they turned around and opened various rooms, dragging out the people inside.
Panic-stricken cries gradually emerged from different areas.
In the facility’s main control room, a group stood in front of the screen, watching the scenes displayed on it.
"What’s happening? Who is the intruder?"
"Can’t see anyone."
"Then why is the alarm going off?"
"What are those robots doing!" Suddenly, someone pointed to a corner of the screen. "What’s wrong with them? Why are they attacking our own people? Check it quickly!"
Someone immediately activated the nearby equipment, fingers flying across the keyboard.
The person’s face gradually turned grim, sweat pouring down their forehead. "No good... I don’t have control over them anymore."
"What do you mean?"
"They’ve been hijacked."
"!!!"
"Intrusion alarm in Zone E!"
"Intrusion alarm in Zone C!"
"..."
"Intrusion alarm in Zone A!"
Alarms sounded in every zone, and the facility’s robots were no longer responding to any commands, indiscriminately attacking their own people.
Yet, they still hadn’t found the actual intruder anywhere.
Someone quickly responded, issuing an order: "Seal off all passages, destroy the data! Hurry!"
"Is it really time to destroy the data?" someone hesitated, thinking of the years of hard work that would be lost.
"Do you think someone who can silently hijack so many robots and trigger alarms everywhere, yet leave no trace, could be benevolent?"
Others exchanged glances for a moment, and soon, some began to take action.
"The system... has been locked down!"
"My access has been revoked."
"I can’t log in either."
The screens in the room displayed either locked notices or login failure due to insufficient privileges.
The main control room suddenly fell silent.
Only the images on the surveillance video flickered in silence. They seemed to hear the screams and shouts of those people.
"Click!"
The door to the main control room suddenly closed.
The person closest rushed forward, but couldn’t stop the door from closing rapidly.
Quickly taking out an access card, they swiped it, only for a red light to flash, signaling the card’s ineffectiveness.
A middle-aged man, seeming to have more authority than anyone present, tried his access card, but it was also a red light.
They knew the quality of these doors too well.
Unless they had a massively powerful bomb to blow it open, there was no way to unlock the door.
They were trapped inside.
"Damn it!"
"Damn! We’re locked in here!"
"Contact outside!"
"It won’t work. Just now, we couldn’t contact outside either."
"Who on earth is behind this!"
"Look..."
Suddenly, someone pointed at the surveillance.
-
Chuzheng entered from Zone F, connecting to their internal network from Zone F. Where there was a network, it was undoubtedly her domain.
"Master," a robot came to Zone F to assist her.
Only then did Chuzheng lead the people... and robots inside.
As soon as she entered, the people in the control room saw her on the monitors.
The girl wore simple and elegant casual clothes, her long golden hair like seaweed, casually draped behind her head.
She walked with her hands in her pockets, leading a group of differently dressed people slowly into the surveillance range, her pace leisurely, as if strolling through her own backyard.
Leading her was one of their facility’s robots.
Without a doubt, she was the culprit behind this incident.
"It’s her!" someone exclaimed.
"Do you know her?"
"The group tracking Fong Yan transmitted data about her a while ago. She’s a companion robot."
"Companion robot?"
A companion robot controlling their robots and the entire system? How is this possible?
What’s the purpose of a companion robot?
With such abilities, could she still be a companion robot?!
"Could this be Fong Yan’s doing?" someone speculated.
"Does he have such capabilities?"
"..."
"Destroy everything here," the middle-aged man ordered. "Action!"
"Have a nice dream." A clear female voice rang out from the speakers.
"What..."
Thick smoke began pouring in from the vents, quickly filling the entire room with a dense white mist.
-
"Master, there’s a passage discovered ahead, destination unknown," a robot reported to Chuzheng.
"Go and see then."
The robot responded matter-of-factly, "Can’t go in."
Chuzheng: "..."
Chuzheng followed the robot to the passage, noting additional passwords and a three-layer encryption.
Chuzheng spent some time decrypting it.
The passage door opened, releasing a burst of white mist from above.
Holding her breath, Chuzheng stepped back a few paces. After the white mist dissipated and she confirmed there was no danger, she proceeded inside.
The passage twisted and turned, spanning nearly a hundred meters.
Beyond the passage was a vast space, filled with square glass columns, housing imprisoned individuals.
Seeing someone enter, those inside the columns turned to look.
Standing at the entrance, Chuzheng’s gaze took in the eerie view.
She ventured deeper inside. These people stood silently at the edges, resembling lifeless dolls, staring blankly at her.
The further she went in, the more lively they became, banging on the glass and calling for help.
At the far end, she saw a large container, ordering the robot to free those people while she moved further.
The container filled with liquid housed a girl curled up in a fetal position, floating in the liquid.
Her eyes were closed, seemingly just asleep.
Chuzheng recognized that face.
"It really is you!"
An excited voice came from behind.
Chuzheng turned, seeing Chen Jiao in patient-like clothing, barefoot and running over, his expression akin to seeing a savior.
A robot behind Chuzheng stopped Chen Jiao.
"Why are you here?" Chuzheng examined Chen Jiao.
"I..." Chen Jiao hesitated, then bit his lip. "I was tricked into coming here."
"Tricked?"
Chen Jiao heard of a way to make money, with generous offers from the other side. Helping with just a small task earned her a large sum.
Then she was brought here and confined in this two-square-meter transparent column.
It was here she realized she’d been deceived.
She couldn’t grasp the purpose of this place, but daily others were taken away, and constantly new people brought in.
Chen Jiao thought she would surely die, never imagining she’d suddenly see Chuzheng.
It was like a divine intervention.
[Congratulations on receiving Thank-You Card ×1]
"Let her come here."
The robot stepped aside, and Chen Jiao hurried over to Chuzheng. "How did you find this place? Are you here to rescue people?"
Chuzheng looked at the girl in the container. "I’m here to do a good deed."
