This was said right after everyone agreed to take on the request, raising their voices in excitement.

“It’ll probably trigger another class change, and it feels like it’ll be a power-up, right?”

“Since I haven’t used it yet, it’s hard to imagine how it’ll help in battle, but a class change will likely grant new skills, so I’m sure I’ll get stronger than I am now.”

“If it comes down to it, we might have to fight that Catastrophic Beast or whatever it’s called, so any boost to our strength is a good thing.”

With that, the excitement in the room cooled a bit, but it was time to achieve one of the main goals of their journey so far: acquiring the skill.

“There’s a Magical Beast nearby that uses magic.”

“Then let’s catch it and test it.”

With that, they quickly brought over a Magical Beast from a short distance away from their Mobile Home—the same kind Leah had used as a test subject before, one that looked like an eyeball attached to a stick, using Fireball from the Fire Magic system. All they needed to do was make it use its magic to test Magic Domination- but the moment it was brought before Tatsuro, it froze and stopped moving.

“What’s wrong with this little guy? He seems scared.”

“It looks that way, but it shouldn’t have any probing abilities, and it shouldn’t be able to sense the difference in our strength…”

As Tatsuro and Ai were talking, Leah, who had been examining the Magical Beast and then Tatsuro, came to a realization.

“It seems like, with the Divine Being title, you’re emitting something like a divine version of Dragon’s Aura. Unlike Dragon’s Aura, it doesn’t weigh down on everyone indiscriminately—it gives allies a sense of reassurance and enemies a sense of fear, so I didn’t notice until I looked closely. You should be able to suppress it with focus.”

“Something like that, huh? When did that even start—oh.”

“It’s calming down. It’s starting to move.”

As Nana said, when Tatsuro turned his gaze to the Magical Beast, it began to move again, no longer frozen in fear, and immediately shot a Fireball toward him.

“That was sudden. Alright… like this?”

Staring at the incoming Fireball with Spirit Eye, Tatsuro focused on Magic Domination and willed it to stop. As he intended, the Fireball froze in place.

The Magical Beast looked surprised but ignored the stationary Fireball, firing a second and third, all of which fell under Tatsuro’s control.

Eventually, perhaps out of Magical Power, the Fireballs stopped, and the stick-like creature wilted like a drooping plant, its eyeball collapsing to the ground.

“Hmm. I can’t mix it with my own Magical Power for a compound magic, but it seems I can control this magic freely. Here goes.”

Tatsuro decomposed the Fireballs he’d frozen under his control back into raw fire Magical Power, then reconstructed it into a Flamethrower—and fired. The Magical Beast was incinerated by the flames made from its own magic and died.

“Wow, that’s amazing! You can break it down and rebuild it however you want!”

“You could use this on an enemy’s Probing Magic to send back whatever information you want. This skill would be terrifying in the hands of an enemy.”

“But no one else has it besides Father, so we don’t have to worry about facing it.”

Having tested the effects of Magic Domination, Tatsuro was about to dispose of the partially burned remains of the Magical Beast when he decided to try using Divine Power.

The more tools he had, the better, and he wanted to test its feel. Focusing on the newly gained Divine Power, he quickly understood it.

(It feels closer to me than Dragon Force does.)

If Dragon Force was like an external battery, Divine Power felt like a newly added internal one. With that thought in mind, Tatsuro intended to lightly burn the remains with basic Fire Magic.

But instead of the usual orange flames, platinum-colored flames shot from his hand, not only vaporizing the remains with far more power than intended but also gouging out the ground.

“…Huh?”

“What was that!? It was all shiny!”

“I tried using Divine Power, and it turned into platinum flames on its own. The power was dozens of times stronger than I expected.”

“Will other magic do the same?”

“Let’s find out.”

He tested other attribute magic besides Fire Magic. Darkness and Dispel Magic were a bit hard to discern visually, but the others also took on a platinum hue and had their power automatically boosted. Gravity Magic and Explosion Magic showed the same platinum effect and power increase, revealing unexpected information.

“Might as well try Spacetime Magic a bit.”

“Teleportation?”

“Well, that’d be fine, but doing it with my own body right away feels risky. I had an idea for something else, so I’ll try that.”

To test a method he’d thought of for using Spacetime Magic in combat, he brought over another Magical Beast—a snail-like creature the size of an adult man.

It moved slowly but could extend its horn-like parts like a whip to attack. Tatsuro dodged these with footwork alone while deploying a compound magic of Spacetime, Light, and Fire.

“—Hah!”

A hole suddenly opened in the space behind the giant snail-like Magical Beast, and a Laser Cutter shot out, piercing its shell and burning its insides. Enraged, it swung its tentacles wildly, but then thirty holes opened around it, and thirty Laser Cutters fired from all directions, killing it instantly.

“You transferred the magic and attacked from any position you wanted.”

“It’s hard to predict where it’ll come from. What an interesting magic.”

“There’s probably a lot more I can do with it, but for now, I’ll get used to it gradually.”

“That’s a good idea. If you tried teleportation right away and ended up somewhere completely unknown, that’d be scary.”

“Yeah, I’ll practice teleportation later when things calm down. For now, how about we call it a day and do our own thing?”

“What!? Aren’t we going to help?”

“Well, sure, but we can get by without sleep. Leah, you’re a bit sleep-deprived, right? If we end up fighting something dangerous, getting taken out because of that would defeat the purpose. Besides, they’ve been holding off the Magical Beasts’ spawning this whole time, so they’re still fine. To ensure our safety while helping them, let’s wait until morning.”

“What are you two doing in the meantime?”

“I’ll take a quick two- or three-hour nap, then experiment with what I can do with Magic Egg Forging and Strengthened Modification Ranch.”

“I want to see that too.”

Leah made a slightly sulky expression, clearly eager to watch the process of creating Magical Beast eggs or modifying and strengthening them.

“Don’t pout like that. We don’t have much time now, so we can’t go all out, but once things settle, we’ll do it together.”

“Yeah, so go get some sleep. You’ve got some bags under your eyes.”

Poked under the eyes by Ai, Leah seemed to give in.
