Chapter 246: Ch246: A Creature from Hell

Daniel’s instincts screamed. He slammed his left palm toward the ground and unleashed a violent burst of lightning.

*BZzBoom!*

The blast struck the floor beside him, throwing his body sideways. Daniel twisted in midair, rolled hard across the floor, and slammed shoulder-first into the wall.

*THUD!*

The massive rock tore through the spot where his head had been a split second earlier before smashing into the opposite corner.

*CraaASH!*

Dust and stone fragments filled the chamber.

Daniel coughed as he pushed himself up, his left hand trembling uncontrollably from the recoil, fingers twitched, numbness spreading through his left palm.

*Gasp~ Gasp~*

"Haah..."

He sucked in a sharp breath, planted his feet beneath him, and forced himself upright.

There was no time to recover.

Klaus was already coming.

*Whoosh~*

Flames erupted from the side, surging upward into a towering wall of fire that divided the chamber between them.

Then—

*FwooOOSH!*

The flames then twisted and coiled before suddenly gathering into the shape of a massive phoenix.

Its fiery wings spread wide, each feather formed from flames.

The phoenix surged forward, its wings beating through the air and leaving trails of fire behind it, as it flew straight at Klaus.

"Traitor! Where are you hiding?!" Valmond shouted, his voice filled with fury.

Daniel glanced to the side.

Valmond stood there, blood smeared across his arms. A dagger glowed with a pale-white light in his left hand, while flames roared from his right palm.

Huge rocks crashed down onto the phoenix, burying its flaming body beneath a barrage of stone. The flames flickered violently before the phoenix finally vanished, while the surrounding fire walls slowly died down.

Klaus stared at Valmond in surprise. ’How did he get here so fast? Did all my summons die?’

The chamber tensed.

Rocks began levitating around Klaus, hovering menacingly at his command. Flames gathered around Valmond’s hand, while lightning crackled around Daniel’s right palm.

Three men stood facing one another.

"Intriguing. Heh... You finally found me." Klaus’s lips curled into a faint smile. "Let me guess — you want revenge for your father’s death, am I right, Valmond?"

Valmond gritted his teeth. "My father’s mistake was getting you into our guild in the first place. But I’m not here to correct his mistake."

*Swoosh!*

*BwooOOSH~*

Explosions erupted throughout the chamber as massive rocks collided with roaring flames. At the same time, lightning crashed into stone, shattering it into countless fragments.

Klaus was caught between the two attacks, forced onto the defensive as Daniel and Valmond relentlessly overwhelmed him.

Although Daniel’s left hand was still numb and barely responsive, he continued unleashing his Third Form over and over, each blast shattering the stone walls Klaus raised in desperation.

’Why isn’t he attacking?’ Daniel thought, his eyes narrowing.

’What is he doing?’ Valmond wondered.

Instead of continuing the assault, Valmond suddenly gathered every bit of mana — flames condensed around his right hand, growing hotter and brighter as he concentrated the energy into a single devastating blast.

He was preparing to end the fight with one final attack.

Then Daniel’s eyes shifted toward the ritual chamber.

Something red and flesh-like was spreading across the walls like tangled vines, slowly creeping outward.

*TRRR...!!!*

A strange sound came from inside the ritual room.

Daniel’s expression changed. "What the...?"

*BWOOooOOSH!!*

Instead of releasing the concentrated flames at Klaus, Valmond redirected the attack toward the strange sound, blasting a huge torrent of fire straight into the ritual room.

The flames engulfed the chamber.

When the fire finally died down, a grotesque, blood-red creature emerged from the smoke. Its body resembled a massive spider, with a childlike face twisted across its front. Blood-like tears streamed from its eyes as it crawled across the ceiling, its many limbs clinging to the stone above.

Just then, Zero and Alucard entered from the side through the fading wall, only to freeze at the sight of the strange creature crawling above them.

"Status," Daniel whispered under his breath.

But in an instant, flames erupted from Zero’s and Valmond’s palms, illuminating the surroundings once again.

"This creature is weak against lightning!" Daniel shouted.

Klaus’s eyes widened.

Before Daniel could react, a massive rock shot toward Daniel.

Alucard instantly intercepted it with a bolt of lightning, striking the rock midair and shattering it into countless fragments.

’’How did he know such crucial information?’ Klaus wondered. A bead of sweat trickled down the side of his forehead.

Amid the chaos, Alucard and Daniel faced the monstrous creature crawling above them, while Zero and Valmond fought fiercely against Klaus.

The flames from Valmond’s and Zero’s palms kept the chamber illuminated, denying Klaus the darkness he needed to conceal himself.

Floryn remained in the corner, frightened inside the stone cube that protected her — at least for now.

Above them, the creature began spinning thick, red, web-like strands from its body, spreading across the ceiling and weaving into a tangled web that gradually covered the area above them, making it difficult to see through the dense darkness.

"Are you sure it’s weak against lightning?" Alucard asked, lightning crackling across his palm.

Daniel gave a small nod. "I’m sure. Just trust me on this."

*BzzZaP!*

Both of them unleashed their Third Form, twin torrents of lightning tearing through the darkness before crashing into the creature’s back.

*TRRRAAAH!*

A shrill cry burst from the creature as its body convulsed from the impact. Blood-red tears trickled from its childlike eyes, dripping down its distorted face.

"Watch out!" Daniel blurted out.
