The dining kitchen, about the size of six tatami mats, contained simple cooking utensils, storage furniture such as a cupboard, and a wooden table and chairs. Because the building was made of brick, the walls were covered in persimmon-colored bricks.

Although they were called meat pies, the filling also contained vegetables, so the nutritional balance was decent. The taste was good and the price was reasonable, making them popular enough in Aquila to be considered a local specialty.

While washing the meat pies down with milk, Kazui and Yuri talked about various things. Mainly Kazui asked about things he did not understand, and Yuri answered, so the conversation progressed while they ate.

First, Yuri told Kazui what had happened the previous day. He began from the point where he had used Leonization, taken on the feminized form known as a Leona, and rushed to save Kazui.

After fighting Vice and being easily blown away, Yuri had taken quite severe damage. At that point Ebony and Ivory appeared, and Ivory administered first aid to Yuri with holy magic.

Ebony and Ivory were adventurers from the reinforcement unit that had rushed to Aquila’s aid. Immediately after Kazui and Yuri left the area in front of the wall, the reinforcement unit, including Ebony and Ivory, arrived in front of the wall.

Right after the reinforcement unit began fighting, Ebony and Ivory obtained information about the humanoid Brigadier-class monster. They also learned that a trainee adventurer had been abducted.

Ebony and Ivory left the remaining monsters to their companions and began searching for the humanoid Brigadier-class monster. In fact, among the reinforcement unit, the pair of Ebony and Ivory were the strongest.

Therefore, they judged that they themselves should take on the role of dealing with the Brigadier-class and rescuing the abducted adventurer. Even without them, their companions should easily be able to annihilate a mere large group of ordinary monsters.

After entering the forest, Ebony and Ivory visually confirmed the light of the tremendously powerful Aura Shot that Vice had fired. They hurried to the area where the pale-blue glowing aura storm had swept through.

There, in the forest, they found Yuri, who had been reduced to a tattered state by Vice. While administering first aid to him, they obtained information about Vice and Kazui from Yuri.

Based on that information, Ebony and Ivory rushed to the place where they believed Kazui and Vice were. Upon discovering Kazui, who was being violated by Vice and on the verge of being killed, Ebony first charged in and destroyed the defensive barrier with an ultra-high-speed flying kick.

Immediately afterward, Ivory protected the nearly killed Kazui with a holy magic barrier. The timing was extremely close; Ivory succeeded in protecting him just before his Enevitè was completely drained.

Ebony fought Vice and, although she could not defeat her, succeeded in driving her away. Because the probability of finishing her off even if she pursued was close to zero, Ebony abandoned the chase in order to conserve her mana and aura for treating Kazui.

Ivory borrowed mana and aura not only from Ebony but also from Yuri, who had rushed over again a little later, and used an extremely powerful holy magic. She began treating the near-death Kazui with holy magic.

Holy magic could normally be activated with mana alone. However, the holy magic Ivory used was one that poured Enevitè into a human who had lost too much of it and fallen into a near-death state in order to save them.

The Enevitè poured in through this holy magic was created by converting enormous amounts of aura and mana. That was why not only vast mana but also vast aura was necessary.

While eating a meat pie, Kazui continued listening to Yuri’s account of that sort. Then, after taking just one sip of the bottled milk, he interjected into Yuri’s story.

While having breakfast and talking with Yuri, Kazui was dressed in his usual martial arts uniform. Because he liked how easy it was to move in, he also used the martial arts uniform as everyday wear.

Since he often fought in forests, he favored one with a forest-camouflage color scheme using green and brown.
