Life Game In Other World
Chapter 1864 - 1863: Capture and Rescue
Ka——
The public toilet door was pushed open directly, and a mercenary in a military uniform walked in, looking at the urinal not far away, placing his hand on his waist, preparing to undo his belt.
Boom——
At that moment, a muffled sound echoed at the back of his neck.
His whole body froze, leaned forward, and fell to the ground.
Anke stepped out from behind the door, looking at the mercenary who had fallen to the ground.
At this moment, the mercenary blinked slightly, seemingly about to awaken.
Anke immediately drew the electrified baton from the mercenary’s waist and pressed it against the mercenary’s waist, turning on the power.
Buzz——
Accompanied by a violent tremor, the mercenary’s body went stiff on the spot, falling completely silent.
Seeing this, Anke finally breathed a sigh of relief. He lifted the mercenary, carried him into a toilet stall, and locked the door from the inside.
"His physique is about the same as yours; strip off his clothes and put them on yourself," He Ao’s aged voice sounded in Anke’s ear.
"Will I not be recognized here?" Anke asked quietly.
"There are many staff members here, and unfamiliar faces won’t arouse much hostility," He Ao said calmly, "but whether your act is convincing is up to you."
Anke glanced at the mercenary in front of him, raised his hand, stripped off his clothes, and put them on himself.
Then, rather than opening the stall door, he climbed over the stall wall and jumped out, exiting from another stall.
As he stepped out of the stall, he saw a mercenary push the door open and enter.
That mercenary saw him and walked directly past him towards the urinal.
Anke’s expression remained unchanged as he directly opened the door and exited the toilet.
An old corridor appeared in his field of view, with locked iron doors on both sides, each with a transparent window to see the interior scenes.
"Old man, where are the children?" he asked in a low voice.
"Keep going ahead, third room on the right," He Ao said calmly.
As He Ao spoke, Anke had already reached the third room. He stood at the doorway and glanced inside through the window.
Three children were curled up inside, including the little girl he saw today, along with another little girl and a little boy.
At this moment, a mercenary was walking over from afar, and Anke withdrew his gaze, proceeded forward, ready to brush past the mercenary.
From his stripes, he seemed to be a squad captain.
"You——" The mercenary captain looked at Anke, stopped, and glanced at his clothes, "Why haven’t I seen you before?"
"I just——" Anke opened his mouth, ready to reply.
The mercenary captain impatiently waved his hand and walked straight ahead, "Never mind, come with me."
Anke was slightly stunned but still followed the mercenary captain.
Soon, they went downstairs together to a small square at the back of the building.
An off-road truck was parked in the square, its cargo compartment opened, revealing seats tightly arranged inside.
"Just stand there," the mercenary captain pointed to a spot nearby, "Remember, if anyone runs, shoot them on the spot."
Then he turned, looked to the other side, waved his hand, and shouted while walking forward, "Load them up!"
Ka——
As his voice fell, a large iron door on the other side of the first floor was pulled open directly.
Figures with handcuffs were driven out from behind the iron door.
Anke looked up and saw that the woman caught on the street today was among them.
The mercenary captain glanced at these figures, raised his hand, and pointed to the open vehicle, "All of you, get in!"
"Where are you taking us?" A young man in the crowd couldn’t help asking when he saw the cargo compartment, "Where did you take those before us?"
Pang——
The mercenary captain pulled out a handgun and fired a shot into the sky.
He lowered his head, his gaze cold as he swept over the startled crowd, "You criminals associated with the rebels, evil god believers, aren’t entitled to ask questions."
"We are not," a voice in the crowd couldn’t help but say, "Sir, we are just ordinary citizens! Ah——"
But before his voice was even complete, a mercenary walked over and jabbed him with a baton.
With intense pain and cries, the speaker trembled and knelt on the ground, and the entire crowd instantly became silent, trembling like cicadas in winter.
"Get in," the mercenary captain raised his handgun, pointing to the truck in front.
The crowd looked at the truck and slowly walked over.
Soon, the first person entered the cargo compartment, followed by people entering one after another.
The seating in this cargo compartment was extremely dense, without windows, making it oppressive and terrifying, but under the mercenary captain’s gaze, individuals still dragged their handcuffs and entered the compartment.
The woman Anke encountered earlier was among the last, and just before entering the compartment, she turned to the mercenary captain and asked softly, "Sir, what about my daughter? Can my daughter come with us? She’s so young, she can’t take care of herself."
"Children are not your concern," the mercenary captain glanced at her, "The City Government will arrange welfare homes for them, you’ve been stripped of your rights, so don’t worry about these matters."
"Sir, I beg you," upon hearing this, the woman fell to her knees with a thud, trembling as she said, "My child is not well, she can’t be without us."
The mercenary captain glanced at her, "Are you dissatisfied with the decision of the City Government and Federation? Blame yourselves for believing in things you shouldn’t have."
"We are not, we haven’t," the woman trembled as she spoke, "Sir, I beg you, please bring our child back to us."
"You bastards!!" At this moment, the man standing behind the woman suddenly erupted, rushing towards the mercenary captain, reaching for the handgun in his hand.
Pang——
The mercenary captain raised a foot and directly kicked him, knocking him down not far from Anke’s position.
He struggled to stand, roaring with anger, "You people will meet a bad end sooner or later! Sooner or later! If there truly is an Evil God, let him show his power! Let him show his power!"
The entire square was eerily quiet, and the soldier standing next to Anke directly pulled out a handgun, chambering a round.
But at this moment, Anke had already stepped forward, pulling out his baton.
The man had just stood up, ready to roar something, when the glowing baton jabbed into his waist.
Accompanied by a violent tremor, he leaned forward, fell to the ground, and passed out.
"Husband! Husband!" The woman kneeling on the ground hurriedly scrambled over, knelt on the ground, and shook the man on the ground urgently.
Then she lifted her head, looking at Anke and then at the baton in Anke’s hand, lying on the man’s body, sobbing uncontrollably.
"Annoying," the mercenary captain looked up at Anke, waving his hand, "Take him up."
Anke bent down, lifted the man, and tossed him into the cargo compartment of the truck.
The remaining people watched this scene silently, not daring to say a word.
The woman staggered to her feet, following Anke’s back, also entering the compartment.
Then Anke returned to his original position.
The mercenary captain turned his gaze to the remaining crowd.
The group fell silent, walking into the cargo compartment.
Click—
The cargo door was closed from the outside, with the lock secured.
The Mercenary Captain slowly walked over, glanced at Anke, and patted his shoulder, "Kid, not bad, what’s your name?"
"Anke," Anke said in a low voice, glancing at the truck and asking softly, "Captain, where is this truck headed?"
"What, you’re getting cocky right after a compliment?" The Captain glanced at him.
Anke hurriedly shook his head, "It’s like this, Captain, I can drive, I’ve driven in the wild before."
"Hahaha," the Captain patted Anke’s shoulder, "You’re an interesting kid, but this isn’t your call, don’t think about it."
As he spoke, the Captain raised his gaze and said slowly, "Do you know where those kids are being kept?"
Anke nodded, "I do."
"Then help me with something." The Captain lowered his head, headed towards the building, and gestured for Anke to follow.
Anke looked back at the tightly closed truck door and the sentries gradually leaving the area.
Two young mercenaries headed towards the truck, seemingly making preparations.
Then he quickly withdrew his gaze, following the Captain ahead.
Soon, they returned to the second floor, stopping at the third room.
Anke lifted his head, just able to see through the window on the door, noticing three children huddled inside.
"Stand guard here," the Captain glanced at Anke, casually placing his hand on the door lock, unlocking it with his bracelet, "Nobody enters without my order."
Anke was slightly stunned, then shifted his gaze again to look inside before turning to face outward.
The Captain seemed satisfied with his behavior, pushed open the door, and walked into the room.
"Hey kiddos, you’re quite cute."
Soon after, he faintly heard the Captain’s hoarse voice.
"What are you going to do?" Then came the urgent shout of a little boy, "Dad!!! Mom!"
"If you cooperate with me," the Captain laughed, accompanied by some metallic clinking sounds, "you can see Mom and Dad again."
"Don’t come near!" The little boy instantly screamed.
Soon after, the other two little girls in the room began to cry.
Standing outside, Anke took a deep breath, gripping the electric baton, and charged in.
But as he rushed into the room, he found only three cowering, crying children inside.
And behind Anke, from the open door, a cold face emerged from the darkness.
"You know this little girl, right?" A hard, icy object, possibly a gun barrel, pressed against Anke’s lower back, with a cold laugh sounding behind him, "You’re with those ’K’ believers? Seems I’ve caught a big fish."
The voice was like a cold wind, piercing Anke’s ear.
Anke’s muscles instantly tensed, a slight cold sweat breaking out on his forehead.
This Captain, tasked to manage here, was no ordinary person; he probably suspected Anke for a while now.
At this moment, his mind was spinning rapidly; he desperately wanted to ask the old man what to do, but saying anything might trigger the Captain to shoot.
"Surrender, show your value, then turn around." At that instant, the aged voice sounded in Anke’s ear.
Anke paused, then slowly raised his hands, "I admit, you’re quite capable."
Speaking, he began to turn around.
"Don’t move!" the Captain coldly snorted, his finger on the trigger.
"I have some other intel you might be interested in," but Anke’s movements didn’t stop, gradually turning, "Information about the real ’K believers’."
"Interesting," the Captain’s finger rested on the trigger, but he didn’t shoot, watching Anke turn completely, "Ready to betray your friends?"
"Left side step," He Ao’s aged voice sounded in Anke’s ear, "Step to the left, use your electric baton."
As soon as he finished speaking, Anke immediately stepped to the left.
With Anke’s movement, the Captain pulled the trigger, the shot going wide and hitting the wall.
At this moment, Anke had sidestepped forward, reaching the Captain’s side, pressing the electric baton to the Captain.
With a fierce buzz, the Captain’s body convulsed violently, but he didn’t pass out, instead, he turned the gun towards Anke.
His physical fitness far surpassed ordinary people.
"Tilt head right, draw gun, shoot the head." He Ao’s voice sounded again.
Anke’s actions didn’t pause, tilting his head right, drawing the pistol from his clothes, aiming at the Captain’s head.
Bam—
The Captain’s gunshot rang out, Anke dodged it.
Bam—
Anke’s gunshot followed, red blood blooming at the back of the Captain’s head.
Anke withdrew the baton and pistol, watching the Captain with wide eyes, collapsing into a pool of blood.
"Escape with the kids through the bathroom." He Ao’s calm voice sounded again.
Anke stared blankly at the corpse on the floor, then without hesitation, grabbed the hands of the three stunned children in the room: "We must leave immediately!"
"My mom—" one little girl said dazedly.
"We’ll see them!" Anke immediately said, grabbing two of the little girls as he spoke.
"I can walk myself, I’m a man!" the little boy said, trembling as he took a deep breath, looking at Anke, "I’ll follow you!"
Anke nodded, immediately stepping out of the room.
The little boy followed him, lowering his head as he passed the Captain’s body, glancing at the round-eyed Captain, trembling slightly, and quickly averting his gaze to follow outside.
Soon, they crossed the corridor, entering the nearby public bathroom.
Faint hurried footsteps echoed from the corridor outside, evidently drawing mercenaries attracted by the gunshot.
Anke moved to the window, glanced outside, then set down the little girl from his waist, climbing out, hanging outside the window.
"Give me your hand!" he said to the three children.
One little girl came over, grabbing his hand, as he reached out, pulling the little girl out of the bathroom.
"Do you see that trash bin? Grab my leg, then jump over there." He pointed to the trash bin below, placing the girl by his leg.
The girl instinctively grabbed his leg, slid down, then gritted her teeth, jumping onto the trash bin.
"Next." He then pulled out the second girl.
Once the second girl was out, he reached to pull out the boy.
Bam—
The bathroom door was abruptly flung open by hurried footsteps.
