Life Game In Other World

Chapter 1902 - 1901: War God’s Tomb, Advent!

At this moment, Anke finally understood the meaning of the world turning upside down, and it was a literal sense of spinning.

Under the swiftly rotating clouds, the horizon was exposed, followed by the entire sky, which was ’replaced’ by vast land.

It was a vast and blurry land, stretching beyond sight.

Anke could even see the mountains near where they previously landed the floating warplane, his memory’s reference point.

At this moment, that mountain was suspended above their heads.

Or rather, it wasn’t the mountain that was suspended above them, they had turned upside down.

Anke now understood He Ao’s earlier statement, ’We are rising.’

At this moment, directly above his head, and the entire city’s.

A gigantic ’pit’ loomed overhead.

This pit was extremely deep, with smooth cliffs around it. Anke estimated those cliffs at least a hundred meters high.

The entire pit had only one part protruding, like an erect stone pillar, standing in the center.

There seemed to be a huge building there once, but now it had been uprooted completely, leaving only a pit.

But inside this pit, there wasn’t nothing—a network resembling streets crisscrossed faintly visible.

Even the protruding stone pillar had faint ravines.

On the top of that stone pillar, some steel constructions were vaguely visible.

It seemed to be some kind of ’building.’

Anke watched all of this, seemingly realizing something, cautiously looked aside and asked, "Old man, is that?"

He Ao raised his head, gazing at the gigantic pit in the sky, observing the crisscrossing buildings within.

He paused slightly, with a tone of nostalgia and reminiscence, "That’s Kovotra."

"Kovotra, surprisingly," Anke gazed at the hundred-meter-deep pit or more, "buried this deep?"

Pausing, he asked, "But why did Kovotra reveal itself?"

"Perhaps this city was left behind for this exact ’revelation,’" He Ao took a slight breath, speaking softly, "Find someplace to hide, don’t wander."

Without waiting for Anke’s response, he dashed forward like an arrow released from a bow, soaring up towards the gigantic pit in the sky.

"Okay..." Anke nodded lightly, watching the figure shooting upwards.

He slightly opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but suddenly forgot what to say.

He could only stare blankly as the figure vanished, transforming into a streak of light towards the sky.

Then he lowered his head, glanced at a nearby building, while watching the sky, and hid.

As the figure rushed towards the sky, towards the ’earth’ above the city,

The city’s surroundings seemed to start abstracting.

As if some terrifying force had split the surrounding space, forming twisted barriers between the land and sky.

A chilling cold wind silently rose over the ground, and a distant song echoed through the city’s crevices.

Anke shuddered upon hearing the song.

He quickly darted into the tall building, raising his head again to find the earth covering the sky had mostly disappeared, leaving only the inverted pit.

But the pit didn’t stand directly over the city; it formed a certain inclination.

Across from the pit, a shattered, cloud-covered sky faintly emerged.

Anke turned his head to look around.

Beyond the high walls, neither the ground nor sky was visible, only a blur of indistinct fog.

The sky turned kaleidoscopic and bizarre.

Anke felt no difference, but at a certain moment, the entire city seemed drawn into a distorted space.

The ground wind grew colder, as if a bone-chilling winter had arrived.

The air seemed to crystallize slightly into ice crystals.

He lifted his head, still seeing the small, elderly figure suspended in midair.

In front of the elderly figure, a magnificent red giant swiftly condensed.

It was Sulan he had seen before in the Interstitial Space.

This time, however, he couldn’t clearly see the shape of the red giant, as if an invisible barrier behind the elderly figure formed and isolated the sky, making it hard to discern its appearance.

Or it wasn’t unclear; Anke could see figures and shapes, but there was a sense of vagueness, like in a dream.

······

"Mind Barrier?" Sulan hovered above the sky, looking down at He Ao below, his gaze flicking over the city behind.

In that vast city, not only was Anke looking up at the sky from the streets, but also countless, slightly confused crowds.

"You expend so much strength protecting these mortals?" Sulan sneered at He Ao, "Trying to compensate for something? Trying to make up for failing to save Kovotra back then? For your incompetence and weakness?"

He Ao didn’t answer, but calmly raised his head, glancing at the inverted, vacant city ruins diagonally above.

In his field of view, at the world’s bottom layer, countless lights were flowing within those ruins, converging to form a complex Array.

This is Sulan, or rather, the reason why the Grim Reaper wanted to preserve the Kovotra Ruins and bury it, because they had long since set up a Sacrificial Array in this city.

And Kovotra is precisely at a trade node, with abundant water sources nearby, making it an ideal place for building a city. After the city gets buried, all it takes is enough time before newcomers arrive to establish a new city.

Given enough time, there will once again be enough ’sacrifices’ here.

The city of Vissen itself was built atop an altar.

He Ao looked away and hoarsely said, "So, when the Federation was established, did none of them notice anything? Did those so-called founders of the Federation not stop the establishment of this city?"

"When the Federation was established, if those people could unite as one, it wouldn’t have just been a loose Federation," Sulan gazed at He Ao and laughed, "Moreover, isn’t there a possibility that I was also one of the Federation’s founders?"

Hearing this, He Ao was silent for a moment. He raised his head and gazed at the Red Giant in front of him.

If Sulan became an Angel through the help of the Grim Reaper after sacrificing Kovotra, then by calculating the time, he could have made it just in time for the Federation’s wave of establishment.

If he chose to join the Federation at that time, then the Federation would likely accept him, perhaps even assigning him to manage the land near Kovotra.

Maybe the construction of Vissen was completed under his supervision.

This is why the Federation had no response to the issue of underground Kovotra, because the overseer was the one who created the problem.

"Oh, looking at your expression makes me really happy," Sulan looked at He Ao and laughed, "How do you feel? You worked tirelessly for the good of the city, only to be sealed in the Coffin of Time for nearly a thousand years, and if you weren’t lucky, you’d have died a long time ago, while I, who sacrificed the entire city, played an important role in history because of my powerful strength, even becoming the ’pillar’ of civilization."

He paused and laughed, "In case you didn’t know, let me explain for you. The initial Federation referred to us angels who supported the Federation as the ’pillar’ of civilization. I not only gained a high status on this land, but also became the envoys of the Divine Being in the starry sky, making civilizations one by one hold me in awe."

His voice lowered, gazing at He Ao, "How do you feel hearing this? Do you feel happy for this old friend of yours?"

His smile spread, and even his voice gradually rose, "Denos, you never understood one truth all along. This world speaks of power. Even your beloved Kovotra is the same."

He looked at He Ao, "The poor are about to starve, and stealing food is a grave crime of theft, subject to fines, hard labor, and even selling their children; nobles kill and gallop on horseback, and as long as they are willing to repent, they are prodigals who mend their ways, who can continue to enjoy fine clothes and high steeds. This principle has been so from ancient times to the present."

Saying this, he became even more excited, "Do you remember the first time we met? I was galloping on horseback within the city, caught and punished by you. You could gain power because the governor at the time admired you, but if you weren’t a noble, if your father or grandfather didn’t have prestige in the military, would you have entered the governor’s field of view?"

He laughed, "Denos, actually, I’ve never been convinced by you. I’ve been unconvinced right from the start. The reason for seeking your cooperation during that coup was solely because you had capability back then and could rally the supporters of the former governor, and your family had prestige in the military, making you the best collaborator, that simple."

He spread his hands slightly, "You see, once I consolidated my position, I kicked you out. If it weren’t for the War God’s downfall and my loss of divine protection, leading to a decline in my strength, I wouldn’t have died at the hands of that filthy slave. But even when I reached the Netherworld, I gained the Grim Reaper’s favor, returning from death to become an eternal Angel."

He gazed at He Ao and laughed, "You are compassionate enough, your family, the city you protected, are all dead, while I, defined by you as utterly evil, became a respected elder. Don’t you find this amusing? What you believed in was wrong, from the very start."

When his words were finished, He Ao slowly lifted his head and gazed at him, speaking calmly, "Don’t you find it too coincidental that the slave assassinated you at that time?"

Sulan was taken aback.

"You just happened to die there, entered the Netherworld, and conveniently received the Grim Reaper’s favor, allowing you to return as an Angel. After that, the war of divine beings took place on earth," He Ao smiled as he gazed at him, "You betrayed the War God, right? During that war, the Grim Reaper used your Talent Sequences, right? Don’t you find all that you’ve experienced too coincidental?"

Hearing these words, Sulan’s face rapidly changed, then he quickly smiled, "No matter what you say, now, I am the one leading all of this."

He Ao continued to look at Sulan, "Why do you think you are the one leading all of this?"

A War God believer suddenly turning into a Grim Reaper believer, who later participated in the war against the War God, most likely, this was all a setup by the Grim Reaper.

However, whether that was the case or not, it no longer mattered to Sulan. The Undead returning from the Netherworld had already been marked by it, and he no longer had the ability to resist the Grim Reaper.

"What are you bluffing about?"

Hearing He Ao’s words, Sulan raised his hand, and behind him, the sky covered densely with dark clouds abruptly lit up with dazzling red radiance.

On the other side, above the upside-down ruins of Kovotra in the sky, fine violet radiance ignited from the void, gathering into a profound and complex Array.

Then the violet Array and red radiance merged in the sky, swiftly spreading in all directions.

Behind He Ao, beneath the massive city of Vissen, paths of violet radiance also lit up, extending outwards from all directions, enveloping Vissen, and merging with the radiance in the sky.

"Do you think without the Coffin of Time," Sulan gazed at He Ao, laughed, "I can’t initiate the ceremony?"

Boom——

Intense rumbling echoed from the depths of time and space.

He Ao raised his head, gazing directly upward.

At this moment, countless red-purple radiance was connecting the Kovotra Ruins, Vissen, and Sulan’s Interstitial Space.

The three massive ’regions,’ within this twisted void, were connected like the three vertices of an equilateral triangle, starting to rotate.

And above these three rotating regions, a distorted and vibrating space began to slowly emerge.

This time, it wasn’t the hard armor that spread from the depths of that void.

But rows upon rows of sunken ’canyons,’ or rather, inverted ’peaks.’

It seemed to be a region where time and space were twisted, blurring the distinction between front, back, and up, down.

Countless murmurs quivered within this twisted space-time, resonating into He Ao’s mind, as well as into Sulan’s mind.

Along with these twisted ravings, an even larger region unfurled gradually above He Ao’s head.

"See, the will of the Divine Being is fate," Sulan raised his head, gazing upwards, speaking with a sense of awe and reverence, "And everything that fate directs will ultimately be realized!"

Above his head was a region both familiar and strange to He Ao.

Inwiter Grand Canyon.

War God’s Tomb.

That silent, twisted, and terrifying colossal body sketched itself across the firmament above.
