Chapter 1734: The Master Schemer

"Alright, alright, stop fighting."

Qin Yi waved his hand and very sensibly gave up.

Qin Mu laughed and said, "Admitting defeat this fast? That's not like you."

"In the face of absolute strength, personality doesn't mean shit. Knowing you can't do it and still charging in—that's just being a dumbass."

Qin Yi put away the Dragon Emperor Cauldron. Purple Light surged around him as his injuries were being repaired while he descended toward the ground.

Qin Mu chuckled, "You crafty little bastard. Used me to stabilize your foundation and then stopped fighting. Truly stingy."

The two of them landed.

Qin Yi said, "You should be returning my Storage Ring now, right?"

Qin Mu directly tossed the Storage Ring over and said in disgust, "That noisy girl said you had a lot of good stuff in your Storage Ring. Turns out it's all worthless junk. Didn't expect you to be this broke."

Noisy girl?

Qin Yi thought for a moment and understood—it had to be Yun Mengyao, that woman who bites the hand that feeds her.

"Hey, this is all my savings from over the years. How does that become worthless junk once it goes into your mouth?"

Qin Yi was very displeased. His Storage Ring had a huge amount of Gold Coins inside.

As he spoke, Qin Yi didn't forget to check the Storage Ring.

Half the Heavenly Thunder Fruits were gone, and several thousand pieces of Earth Spirit Stone were missing too.

"If it's worthless, why'd you steal my stuff, you thief?"

Qin Mu froze for a moment. "How could I, the Emperor, possibly fancy your trash?"

"Then why are my Heavenly Thunder Fruits and Earth Spirit Stones missing?"

Qin Mu said disdainfully, "Did you really think that five consecutive breakthroughs were just the effect of Dragon Blood?"

Qin Yi suddenly understood. During the fifth breakthrough, a massive amount of Spiritual Energy had suddenly appeared and almost blew him up.

"So you refined the Heavenly Thunder Fruits and Earth Spirit Stones."

"Or what else?"

Or what else my ass, I almost got exploded… Qin Yi cursed silently in his heart.

Qin Yi asked curiously, "Why did you suddenly wake up?"

Usually when he ran into danger and needed this guy, there wasn't a peep from him. When he didn't need him, he suddenly woke up.

"I came to you for something."

Qin Yi looked at him warily. "If it's to borrow money, forget it."

The corner of Qin Mu's mouth twitched. Did he really look that poor?

"It's Chu Xun. He sent me to find you and take you to a very fun place."

Qin Yi was surprised. "Demon King Chu?"

Qin Mu nodded slightly.

"Demon King Chu contacted me. The Celestial Battlefield has opened. He wants me to bring you over to broaden your horizons."

Qin Yi asked curiously, "What's the Celestial Battlefield?"

"The vast heavens, countless planes, strong ones everywhere. Anyone who can step onto the Celestial Battlefield is someone who can rampage across the cosmos. With your rookie level, you're not even qualified to participate. But that Demon King Chu bastard went crazy for some reason, insisting on having you scream miserably over there. Isn't that just sending you to your death?"

Qin Yi was baffled. He'd never even met Demon King Chu. That guy had only ever existed in his understanding of history. Now suddenly he wanted him to go scream on some Celestial Battlefield—what was the point?

"Not going, no time! I still have serious business to deal with." Qin Yi rejected him cleanly and crisply.

Even though his Cultivation was skyrocketing right now, he still had a clear understanding of himself. Compared to monsters like Demon King Chu and Qin Mu, he was just trash. Better not join in the fun, lest he end up as cannon fodder. His little life mattered more.

He'd seen Demon King Chu's figure in the long river of history. That guy was so strong he didn't even seem human. The battlefield Chu was heading to—he probably wouldn't even qualify as cannon fodder if he went. When Immortals brawl, mortals suffer. He'd better stay far away.

Qin Mu said, "Demon King Chu said that if you don't go, you'll regret it."

"Tch, playing mysterious." Qin Yi didn't buy it at all. These old freaks were all as crafty as foxes—who knew what kind of bad intentions this one was harboring. Still, he didn't reject it outright and said, "How about this: you tell Demon King Chu to give me one hundred years. I'll definitely go then."

In a hundred years, he'd be enough to stand shoulder to shoulder with Demon King Chu. He had that confidence.

"That Demon King Chu guy is really something. He calculated that you'd say that." Qin Mu laughed.

Qin Yi looked at him.

Qin Mu smiled and said, "Demon King Chu said that if you say that, I shouldn't try to persuade you anymore. As for the rest, he said to wait until you get to the Netherworld Clan before telling you."

Qin Yi frowned. "What exactly did he tell you to say to me?"

"We'll talk about it after you get to the Netherworld Clan."

"Damn, do all of you people like acting all mystical and God-like?" Qin Yi was very contemptuous of this. What couldn't be said in one go?

Suddenly, Qin Yi's eyes lit up. "So that means you're going to the Netherworld Clan with me?"

"No shit. If I don't go to the Netherworld Clan, with you guys and your half-baked skills, you think you can come back alive?"

The corner of Qin Yi's mouth twitched slightly. He was at least a decent expert, was it really necessary to trash him this hard?

"Can you hold out until then? Don't fall asleep halfway again, or I'll be screwed." This guy was too unreliable, always dropping the ball at crucial moments, which made him really uneasy.

Qin Mu was a bit embarrassed too. Every time Qin Yi ran into a life-or-death crisis, he'd been sleeping.

"Relax. Just wait one more day—my Clone has already set off and is on the way."

Qin Yi was shocked. "Clone? The Clone on Earth?"

Qin Yi knew that the one on Earth couldn't really be called Qin Mu's Clone; at best it was just a strand of Divine Thought. And the Qin Mu in front of him was merely an aura stripped off that Divine Thought.

Qin Mu nodded slightly.

Vigilance flashed in Qin Yi's eyes. There's no free lunch in this world. For this guy to mobilize a Clone to help him, there definitely had to be some scheme. Anomalies always meant something was off.

"Was it Demon King Chu who sent you to help me?"

Qin Mu nodded.

Something wasn't right, there was definitely a problem. Qin Yi said, "What conspiracy do you guys have exactly? Be honest. You and Demon King Chu are on the same level, standing side by side. There's absolutely no need for you to listen to him. And with your personality, he couldn't order you around anyway."

Qin Mu's gaze turned disgusted. He sized Qin Yi up from head to toe. "Comrade rookie, may I ask how long it's been since you pissed and checked out your own reflection? What do you think you have that's worth me and Demon King Chu plotting over you?"

Qin Yi's face stiffened. That line hit him so hard he wanted to crawl into a hole.

Thinking it through carefully, he really didn't have anything worth those two coveting.

"If I'm going to screw someone, I'd rather screw Demon King Chu. That guy's stash of good stuff is truly endless."

Qin Yi's eyes lit up. "So what did you fleece from Demon King Chu?"

Qin Mu smiled faintly. "You know my strand of Divine Thought on Earth has been separated from the main body for too long, so its state is unstable. It needs true heavenly treasures to stabilize the state. So, I didn't really fleece him of much—just asked for a three-hundred-million-year-old Seven-star Vine, a drop of five-hundred-million-year-old Celestial Liquid, and ten Star Cores…"

Qin Yi's mind buzzed. He automatically ignored everything after that… He didn't even know what those things were, but just hearing that their age was counted in the hundreds of millions of years, he could imagine how valuable they were.

He'd always thought he was a scammer, but it turned out Qin Mu was the real big scammer here, even conning Demon King Chu.

No, who was Demon King Chu? How could he let himself be scammed willingly? Qin Yi looked at Qin Mu. "Demon King Chu gave you all that just so you'd come help me?"
