Living With The Vampire Queen And Seven Goddesses
Chapter 53: The Wild Woman Troubles Me
Turning my head, I saw Professor Shuyan, whom I hadn’t seen for days, standing with her arms crossed, looking at me with a face full of disdain.
This woman was someone I couldn’t afford to provoke; the moment I saw it was her, I decided to walk away. But as soon as I turned around, I heard her say behind me: "What, trying to run? Are you scared of me?"
How did that saying go? A gentleman can be killed, but not humiliated. Hearing Shuyan’s provocation, my anger flared up. Aside from those bastards back in my family, this woman was the only person in the world who could make me lose my temper this quickly. I turned back around to face her, the corners of my mouth tugging upward into a smirk: "Well, if it isn’t Professor Shuyan. Instead of going to teach your class, what are you doing running around here?"
"What business is it of yours? One look at you and anyone can tell you’re up to no good—hugging and kissing a girl out in broad daylight! You really have no class!" Before I could even finish my sentence, Shuyan began rattling off like a machine gun.
"Who I hug is none of your damn business! Even if someone like you threw yourself at me, I wouldn’t want it! And whether I’m a good person or not, what’s it to you?" Being berated by her, I angrily barked right back.
Seeing that I actually dared to talk back, Shuyan immediately pulled out her authority as an instructor: "I am your advisor, so of course it’s my business! Besides, I’m just worried that little girl will fall for your tricks!"
"I think you’ve forgotten that I don’t belong to any department. You can’t boss me around!" They say that women and villains are the hardest to deal with, and that saying couldn’t be more accurate. After saying my piece, I turned toward the doorway, not wanting to entangle with her any longer.
However, before I could take more than a few steps, Shuyan grabbed my hand firmly from behind, her voice urgent as she said, "I haven’t finished talking yet! You’re not allowed to leave!"
This woman was completely unreasonable. I didn’t know why, but just looking at her filled me with a stomach full of anger. Hearing her commanding tone, I threw off her hand without even turning my head and said, "Whether I leave or not is my freedom. From now on, don’t use that tone to order me around. I don’t buy that crap!"
With my back to Shuyan, I couldn’t see her expression, but after walking a few paces, I heard her jogging up from behind. This woman was going crazy again—it must be because I didn’t obey her, so out of embarrassment and rage, she ran up wanting to beat me. Thinking of this, I turned around in annoyance, only to realize—wait, she wasn’t trying to beat me, she looked like she wanted to hug me?
As I turned around, I happened to see Shuyan lunging toward me with open arms, a look of panic on her face. Since I had turned at that exact moment, neither of us could dodge in time, and we collided head-on with a loud thud. No matter how fierce she was, Shuyan was still a girl, and her physical strength naturally couldn’t compare to mine. Upon impact, she began falling backward. Shuyan opened her lips in terror, instinctively grabbing my hands. Dragged along by her momentum, I tumbled down as well, landing heavily right on top of her.
"What on earth are you trying to do?" I propped up my hands, which ached slightly from hitting the floor, and asked in a fury.
"You... get off me!" Shuyan was both embarrassed and frantic beneath me, pushing desperately against my chest with both hands.
If it were anyone else, I would have kicked them away long ago. But unfortunately, she happened to be my academic advisor. In a country that values etiquette as much as this one, I couldn’t bear the crime of assaulting a teacher. Climbing to my feet, I casually pulled her up and patted the dust off my clothes before asking, "What exactly are you looking for me for? Out with it, I don’t have time to waste here messing around with you!"
Shuyan furrowed her brow, rubbing her lower abdomen. She stole a glance at me, but seeing that I was staring at her, she quickly dropped her hand and stood straight. I snickered inwardly—one look and I could tell her towering breasts had taken a painful blow during our collision. She wanted to rub them, but was too embarrassed to do so. Serves you right for the pain! Thinking of this, I secretly regretted not putting in a bit more force just now—it would have been great to bust them wide open!
"My mom told me to come find you and ask you to come over for dinner tonight!" Shuyan said, her face looking a bit unnatural.
Looking at her in confusion, I asked, "Is that all? No other business?"
"Well... there’s just one little thing!" Shuyan said awkwardly, raising a single finger.
I really had gotten smarter. If there wasn’t something going on, how could I have run into this jinx by such a coincidence? "What exactly is going on? Can’t you just tell me everything at once?"
"My dad and mom found out about our situation, and then they told my grandfather. That’s why I came to find you!" Shuyan attempted to explain the situation using the briefest words possible, putting on an "it’s your call" expression after she finished.
I completely failed to understand what she meant, staring at her blankly: "I say, Professor Shuyan, what situation of ours do your parents know about? Is there anything between us?"
"Are you trying to deny it?" Shuyan glared, on the verge of blowing her top again.
"What am I denying? I genuinely have no idea what you’re talking about!" I was completely scratching my head in confusion.
Shuyan looked around to make sure no one was watching us. Grabbing my collar, she pulled me toward her and whispered, "It’s about you kissing me in class last time! Now that my parents know, they misunderstood and think the two of us are... that..."
I forcefully pulled her hand off my collar: "What ’this’ or ’that’? Why don’t you just go explain it clearly to them yourself? I don’t have time to meet your parents!"
"I can’t! You don’t know how formidable my mom is. She worries all day long that I won’t be able to get married. Every day she makes me look at photos of this nephew or that cousin, and from time to time she drags me out on blind dates! It’s precisely because of this that I insisted on moving out to live on my own. Now that she heard I’m dating, she’s so happy she tells everyone she meets. If I tell her now that it was all a misunderstanding and her daughter isn’t dating anyone at all, she’ll definitely fly into a rage out of humiliation and feel like she’s lost face. She might even drag me back home and force me to go back to those days of picking photos every single day!" Shuyan explained with a face full of agony.
Imagining this wild, unreasonable girl dressed proper and neat, sitting in a coffee shop on a blind date, made my face twitch uncontrollably, and I couldn’t help bursting into laughter. I laughed until I almost ran out of breath before stopping, saying to the pouting Shuyan: "Well, that’s your problem, and I couldn’t care less!"
"How can you not care? Right now my mom thinks you’re my boyfriend and wants to meet you! If I hadn’t stopped her, she probably would have come over in person today! If she saw you hugging that little girl and kissing her just now, I’d be dead! No matter what you say today, you have to come meet my mom with me, so she stops nagging me!" Hearing me say I wouldn’t care, Shuyan frantically grabbed my hand and pleaded.
Aha! They say good deeds bring good rewards, evil deeds bring punishment, and now the peasant gets his liberation! Coming over to ask me for a favor and still acting so arrogant—if I didn’t give her a hard lesson this time, I’d truly be doing a disservice to myself. Continuing to play dumb, I said, "Why should I help you go see your mom? You’re so fierce toward me; helping you would just make me a glutton for punishment, wouldn’t it?" After saying that, I looked down at her tightly gripping hand.
"At most, I’ll treat you a bit better from now on, alright?" Shuyan curled her lip and quickly released me.
"I’m a person of status too, so I can’t make a trip for nothing. There’s got to be some benefits. Don’t talk to me about money—it’s vulgar! And don’t talk about offering yourself to me either; this young master doesn’t fancy you!" I sat down on a chair, crossing my legs casually as I spoke to Shuyan nonchalantly.
Just as I finished speaking, an object came flying straight at me. Instinctively lowering my head, I dodged it. Looking back, it turned out to be one of her high-heeled sandals. If that had hit my head, it would have definitely left a hole. Truly, nothing is more venomous than a woman’s heart!
