Chapter 1010: Chapter 715: Shocking Change in Midair
"Open the cockpit. Fellow Daoist Wu, you’re in charge of taking down Tian Haoran. Fellow Daoist Tang, restrain Qin Shiya. Take back the Spaceship and head for Myriad Phenomena Immortal City at full speed."
"You heard that? Hurry up and unlock the cockpit restriction!"
Tang Qingyan pointed her sword at the Commerce Alliance guard captain beside her, whose face was full of panic, and snapped coldly.
"Senior, please see clearly! The cockpit Token is only held by Captain Liang, Vice Captain Tian, and Navigator Qin! W-we really don’t have it!"
The guard captain was sweating profusely, his voice bitter.
This matter was indeed unknown to him, and he certainly didn’t want to carry the stigma of being a traitor to the Human Race.
"Pill Master Shen, without the Token, this restriction..."
Tang Qingyan frowned and looked toward Shen Xuan.
Before she finished speaking, Shen Xuan had already made his move.
He merely flicked his sleeve, and nine exquisitely small Array Flags shot out, nailing precisely into the thick metal hatch that separated them from the restriction.
His hands formed seals like flying shadows, streams of Spiritual Light pouring into the flags.
The [Small Nine-Palace Restriction-Breaking Flags] flared with radiance at once, linking with one another to form a profound Array diagram.
It clung tight to the surface of that Tier Three restriction, Spiritual Light rippling like water as it rapidly seeped in and deconstructed it.
"Open!"
A sharp gleam flashed in Shen Xuan’s eyes. Catching the fleeting interval in the restriction’s operation, a condensed bolt of Spiritual Power shot forth, striking right at the core of the Array eye!
"Click..."
The metal hatch gave a soft sound, the runic glow flowing across its surface abruptly went dark, and the heavy door slid open with a rumble!
Inside the doorway, Tian Haoran and Qin Shiya, who had been controlling the Spaceship’s Array, had their smiles freeze in an instant, turning into stunned disbelief.
They had never imagined that this cockpit restriction, solid as a fortress and able to withstand the full-force assault of a Golden Core Cultivator, would be broken so swiftly and easily from the outside!
"Hiss! A Tier Three Array Master!"
Beside them, Gu Xiaoyao sucked in a cold breath, unable to stop himself from whispering in shock.
Wu Jiajun and Tang Qingyan reacted with lightning speed. In the instant the hatch opened, their figures flickered in like ghosts!
One was a rising star of the Demon Dao, the other a top disciple of the Sword Pavilion—dealing with two ordinary True Pill Cultivators from the Commerce Alliance was child’s play.
Even so, it had cost them a little time.
By the time Wu Jiajun had swiftly subdued Tian Haoran and Tang Qingyan’s sword tip was pressed against Qin Shiya’s throat, black shadows were already swarming outside the portholes, shrill screeches piercing the ears.
Three black Tribulation Cultivator ships and a sky-blotting army of Demon Birds had seized the opportunity to converge from all directions, hemming the entire Spaceship in at the very center!
"Fellow Daoist Wu, can you pilot this ship?"
Shen Xuan strode quickly into the cockpit, his gaze sweeping across the complex Array Plate controls.
Wu Jiajun said disdainfully, "Pill Master Shen, don’t underestimate me, Wu. A mere Tier Three merchant ship—how could it possibly stump me?"
"Good."
Shen Xuan spoke rapidly: "Fellow Daoist Wu, you take the helm. Fellow Daoist Zhang, assist with navigation. Fellow Daoist Hu, maintain order in the passenger cabin and calm everyone down."
"Fellow Daoist Tang, Fellow Daoist Gu, come out of the cabin with me and cover the rear against the enemy!"
"Fine!" Tang Qingyan agreed without the slightest hesitation. Her sword hummed softly, battle intent surging.
Wu Jiajun didn’t waste words either. He immediately took over the Array Plate controls, injected Magical Power, and Spiritual Light began condensing anew at the Spaceship’s tail.
"Fellow Daoist Gu, stay close."
Shen Xuan glanced at Gu Xiaoyao, and his figure had already become a streak of azure lightning, flashing into the passage leading to the upper deck.
Tang Qingyan, her white robes like snow, followed right on his heels.
Gu Xiaoyao looked at the backs of the two, then glanced again at the terrifying tide of Demon Birds outside the portholes that made one’s scalp crawl. The bitter smile on his face deepened a few degrees. In the end he stomped his foot, grabbed his wine gourd, and muttered, "These old bones...," as he trailed after them.
Shen Xuan stepped out of the cabin and strode to the foremost deck of the Spaceship.
The Gang Wind howled, whipping his azure robe into a frenzy.
Right ahead, a black Tribulation ship—the largest of them all—loomed like a ferocious beast, blocking the way.
All around, Demon Birds blotted out the sky, circling and shrieking, the beating of countless wings merging into a roar that chilled the heart.
At the tribulation ship’s bow, five Tier Three Demon Bird kings, their auras savage and their bodies far larger than their kin, flanked a Golden Core Cultivator in black robes, a ferocious green wolf mask covering his face.
This was none other than the famed Tribulation Cultivator leader of Qin Country—Green-Faced Wolf.
"You three Fellow Daoists, how should I address you?"
Green-Faced Wolf’s gaze swept over Shen Xuan, Tang Qingyan, and Gu Xiaoyao, who had just caught up.
His voice came through the mask tinged with the smugness of a victor.
"No need."
Shen Xuan’s tone was indifferent.
"Why be so distant?"
Green-Faced Wolf chuckled lightly. "Rest easy, all of you. I, Green-Faced Wolf, seek wealth, not lives. Even if you’ve subdued that piece of trash Tian Haoran, right now you still couldn’t escape even with wings. Why not sit down and talk?"
