Longevity: Sweeping Across the World as an Eunuch
Chapter 126 - 86: Duel of Destiny (4)
Chapter 126: Chapter 86: Duel of Destiny (4)
To touch the Immortal is to court madness.
Even Qi Cultivation Immortals who reached the very peak were no exception.
And yet, this man...
His was only a path of Mortal Cultivation. In their eyes, even a figure like the Wind Snow Sword Immortal was a nobody. Yet he had shouldered the Wish of All Living Beings, slain his Heart Demon, and remained completely unaffected.
’How... is that possible?’
’Who is this man!’
’To be so terrifying...’
In a medical hall, the Great Yu Magic Immortal, Yu Le, stared in horror at the figure in the profound robe. The empty wine bottles at his feet were forgotten, the drunken stupor vanishing from him in an instant.
Clad in a profound robe and wielding a sword, he walked straight into the Imperial City. Youthful as an Immortal, no one dared to block his path. First Grades retreated, and Grandmasters watched in awe.
"I am Sima Kong."
"Born in the third year of the Great Yu Dynasty."
"I am currently first on the Great Zhou’s Celestial List."
"May I ask, Fellow Daoist, have you come with sword in hand to slay the emperor?"
A Sub-Innate expert shot into the sky, flying forward to meet him. He cupped his hands in a fist and asked the question.
"And what if I have?"
Su Chen stopped, his feet planted in the wind and snow. He raised his eyes and stared at the man.
"The Immortal Arrival is imminent."
"The world must be unified. The destiny of the mountains and rivers must flow unbroken. The Immortal Fate of Longevity, a true world of Immortals, is right before our eyes. No matter how great your grievances, why not set them aside? We can deal with them after the Immortal Arrival, no?"
"What do you say, Fellow Daoist?"
Sima Kong wore a wide smile, but his aura roiled with frenetic energy. In the nearby pavilions, shadowy figures flickered—all of them Ancient Grandmasters, with no shortage of Third Realm experts among them. Their gazes toward Su Chen were hostile, the threat palpable.
"And what are you suggesting?"
Su Chen found this amusing. He looked at the Sub-Innate expert, his hand resting on his sword. A smile played in his eyes; the situation was laughable.
"Fellow Daoist, you are a Perfect Grandmaster of the Third Realm. For some reason, you are still on the First-Grade Earth List. You should have been recruited into our Celestial Alliance long ago."
"Set aside your grudges."
"Tonight, I will personally sponsor you and bring you into the Celestial Alliance. Then, we can welcome the Immortal Arrival together. Wouldn’t that be a wonderful outcome?"
Sima Kong was smiling, too—the smile of one who believed the situation was already decided.
"Hahaha!"
Su Chen’s laughter was his only answer to Sima Kong.
That, and a blinding flash of sword light.
A single sword strike, piercing the heavens!
A thousand swords, ten thousand swords, all contained in one. This was Burial Star!
A Grand First Grade of the Extreme Dao, wielding such a sword, could unleash enough power to slay a Sub-Innate!
"A Sub-Innate?!!"
Countless cries of terror erupted.
"How is this possible?"
"The destiny of the mountains and rivers has only just begun to surge. Even if you were the very first Grandmaster born from swallowing the first mouthful of Mountain River Dragon Qi, you shouldn’t be this terrifying!"
"You... how can you be a Sub-Innate!"
In that instant, the color drained from Sima Kong’s face. He retreated in terror, fleeing in a pathetic state, not daring to even think of fighting back.
And it wasn’t just him.
Nearby, the so-called Celestial Alliance—with its seventy paragons from the Celestial List and its crowd of Ancient Grandmasters—was in full retreat, every last one of them scrambling to escape.
With the eyes of the world upon him, no one else dared to stand in the way of the Wind Snow Sword Immortal as he marched, sword in hand, toward the palace.
「Imperial Palace.」
Jie set down his memorial, straightened his dragon robes, and walked out of the Imperial Palace. He came to a stop before the Palace Gate, hands clasped behind his back, to welcome the Wind Snow Sword Immortal alone.
"That sword strike could slay an Ancient Sub-Innate, but it cannot slay me."
"It is destiny."
"Mortal Cultivation is no match for my Heaven-Reaching Immortal Path."
Jie said with a smile.
His Spiritual Eyes shone with a crystalline light. He was the one being targeted for death, yet he seemed overjoyed, a vibrant light dancing in his gaze.
As he watched Su Chen, he smiled.
He was happy. The Wind Snow Sword Immortal he had so admired was back.
Full of vigor!
Radiant with life!
No longer the weary, old man from behind the doors of the Imperial Study—hesitant, his ambition faded, afraid to draw his sword.
"I have a second sword strike!"
Su Chen arrived, his profound robe fluttering. Beneath the moon, he drew his sword and unleashed a strike born from all the passion in his heart.
"Good!"
Jie clasped his hands behind his back, his smile gone.
Magic Crystals began to coalesce.
The Imperial City trembled.
The Earth Veins churned and the Imperial City cracked apart. Armored Giants rose from the ground, each one possessing the power of a Sub-Innate.
On the Forbidden City Peak.
Before the Palace Gate.
The greatest figure in Mortal Cultivation today clashed with the greatest Qi Cultivation Immortal in the Human World, their battle unfolding beneath the moon.
This was about more than just Cyan Sparrow’s death.
To turn heaven and earth upside down, to shatter the Dynasty, to remake the world and unite its people, to bring an end to the era of Zhou and Liang—this was the only path left for Su Chen.
Jie had borrowed the Dynasty’s fortune to pursue his cultivation, seeking to reach the apex of the Qi Cultivation Immortal Path. He had not yielded then, and he certainly would not yield now.
This was a fated duel, a clash of Destiny.
