Lord: I Grind EXP with Warband Panel

Chapter 184 - 166: Epilogue

Chapter 184: Chapter 166: Epilogue

Robson’s Knight Team surged like a torrent, continuously charging into the Beastman Camp, where fires lit up the sky.

Robson no longer interfered with his army’s advance, simply watching the ceaseless stream of his Knight Team.

’The battle has reached a point where it doesn’t matter if I give commands or not. It’s better to just let my men fight to their heart’s content.’

The Beastmen were already fleeing. Their command structure had been mostly shattered in the earlier fighting, and now their retreat was visibly chaotic. No one can organize troops that lack junior officers...

’This unit of Beastman Wolf Cavalry is basically crippled. Even if they want to rebuild it in the future, it will take a monumental effort.’

Robson was now immersed in his Mount & Blade panel.

To his surprise, the experience he’d gained from this battle was nearly the same amount as he’d earned last time by the Somme River.

Furthermore, the experience he’d gained from killing those few Silver Wolf Cavalry was a considerable sum. When he tallied it all up, he was already halfway to the Golden Eighth Tier.

Such a terrifying pace—going from the Bronze First Tier to the Golden Seventh Tier in a single year—would make him a legendary hero worthy of the history books.

’This design of the Mount & Blade panel is probably meant to encourage me, Lord Robson, to clash head-on with elite forces and take personal risks.’

’Unfortunately for the panel, I, Robson, have survived this long by adhering to one principle: caution. A steady stream of experience is better than a massive windfall. My priority is to get these troops properly trained before I consider anything else.’

’The experience from this war is certainly high, but to be honest, unless it’s absolutely necessary, I really don’t want to go head-to-head with these Beastmen.’

Robson’s earlier judgment had been mostly correct. When he’d first charged into the Beastman Camp, the Beastmen’s exhausted posture and the purple-red bloodshot veins in their eyes all indicated their condition had reached its absolute limit.

But even so, their Extraordinary Wolf Cavalry had managed to escape completely intact. The remaining Mortal Beastman Wolf Riders, even after dismounting, still possessed formidable combat strength.

Even in such chaos, they were still able to organize effective counterattacks. Even now, notifications would pop up on Robson’s panel, showing his Tier Two or Three cavalry being cut down and killed by a group of Beastmen.

If it hadn’t been for Robson’s First Regiment—men who had followed him through the entire war on the Western Front and had been forged into true elites—they might have actually suffered a catastrophic defeat today.

A defeat wasn’t a certainty, but the losses would have been unavoidable and heavy.

In truth, the current losses were also considerable. More than twenty Warriors from the First Regiment had been left forever before Thermopylae, just a single step away from returning to the lands of the Frank Kingdom.

Of course, what Robson didn’t know was that the Beastman Wolf Cavalry he had just defeated was considered one of the very best in the entire Beastman Empire. The ones who could keep up after a long forced march were the elite of the elite. Achieving such a favorable casualty ratio against them was an accomplishment that would be celebrated throughout the entire Frank Kingdom.

Robson opened his cavalry panel. The Beastman Wolf Riders weren’t just fast on their Warg Mounts; once dismounted, they could still move on their own two feet with a speed that human Infantry couldn’t hope to match.

On the Mount & Blade panel, the proportion of Tier Six soldiers in the First Regiment had now reached sixty to seventy percent. This single battle had created around a hundred new Frank Border Guards and Frankish Border Watchers.

Of course, the greatest gains were seen in Robson’s Cavalry Team. With his original Knight Team plus the two hundred-odd men sent by Valentino, the Knight Order now numbered 700 strong.

This battle was, without a doubt, a high-value engagement! The sheer amount of experience gained was no less than what the suicide squad had earned at the Somme River.

This time was completely different from the past. Previously, the largest group of promotions had always been those entering Tier Three, with the numbers decreasing for each subsequent tier.

This time, however, the soldiers promoting to Tier Six accounted for nearly half of all promotions, followed by those reaching Tier Five. Almost no one was promoted to Tier Four.

It was actually easy to understand why. There was a severe gap in the ranks of Robson’s cavalry. In previous wars, he had already forged most of his cavalry into Frank Elite Cavalry. But then Valentino had sent a batch of Tier Two Frank Knight Recruits, which meant he had almost no Tier Three cavalry to begin with.

The intensity of this battle was perfectly suited for upgrading veterans. For the Tier Two Soldiers caught in it, they were lucky just to survive. The number of deaths among the Tier Two Frank Knight Recruits was over 60!

Not wounded! That was the number killed outright! Over sixty men. Under the giant axes of the Beastmen, a single mistake could get man and horse split in two—it was not a rare sight.

One could only say that the Tier Two Soldiers had participated in a war that was far beyond their league. Of course, high risk came with high reward. The quality of this Beastman Army was so high that even landing an assist was enough experience for a promotion to Tier Three. The soldiers who survived had almost all successfully become Frank Cavalry.

For the Tier Two Frank Knight Recruits, this battle was Hell itself. But for the nearly three hundred Frank Elite Cavalry, it was a bonus round!

Under normal circumstances, these Beastman Wolf Riders were roughly equivalent in strength to the Frank Elite Cavalry—on par with Tier Five and Tier Four units, with some Tier Six mixed in.

But now... never mind the fact that these Beastman Wolf Riders were exhausted, they weren’t even on their mounts!
