Chapter 3457

Ye Liuyun’s golden eyes detected that the blood fox was truly enraged and was gathering power to attack him.

In any case, the two of them could only truly set their minds at ease by fighting to the death and eliminating the other. So he decided to strike first. As his body grew larger, he shot an arrow.

However, this arrow was not aimed at that blood fox, but at another blood fox at the third level of the Taixu Realm—the strongest among the remaining blood foxes.

"So it was simply not powerful enough!" Ye Liuyun shot an arrow, and the blood fox expert opposite him immediately realized that it was not powerful enough to kill him.

Thus, he no longer feared Ye Liuyun’s bow and arrows and immediately prepared to pounce. But the distance he had originally gauged suddenly changed.

He should have been able to pounce straight to Ye Liuyun’s side and siphon away some of his blood. But his body was rapidly shrinking, so after leaping forward, he was still quite a distance from Ye Liuyun.

He had thought that Ye Liuyun was merely using Spatial Force to enlarge himself. He had never expected Ye Liuyun to shrink him while he was off guard.

At that moment, Ye Liuyun released a short sword. It was the sixth-level Taixu Realm offensive weapon he had seized earlier, and he sent it straight toward the blood fox. But as the space around Ye Liuyun expanded, the short sword also grew to an enormous size.

The blood fox realized that he had been tricked, but it was already too late to return to his original size. Even if he enlarged his body, he would still be struck by the short sword. Thus, he tried to rely on the advantage of his smaller body to evade the attack.

But how could Ye Liuyun let such an opportunity pass? He suddenly withdrew the spatial force that had caused the blood fox to shrink, causing its body to instantly return to its original size.

With a "pfft," the short sword pierced through the blood fox’s chest, trailing a line of blood.

"Cunning human! I’ll fight you to the death!" the blood fox cursed. He immediately released his entire soul, including a soul source, and sent them charging into Ye Liuyun’s sea of consciousness.

Ye Liuyun paid no attention to it. He immediately used Spatial Force to restore his body to its original size. At the same time, he released four golden dragon puppets and a soul source to kill the five remaining blood foxes.

The five remaining blood foxes were all at the first or second level. Their soul power was no match for his, and they were even less capable of defeating the fourth-grade Void-rank golden dragon puppets. Thus, they could only meet the fate of being slaughtered by him.

Ye Liuyun left none alive. He even searched the blood fox expert’s sea of consciousness to confirm everything once more, then controlled the short sword to cut off its head before he was completely reassured.

Next, he began to clean up the battlefield. He did not leave behind a single blood fox corpse or martial cultivator’s corpse.

By then, the Myriad Gods Token had nearly exhausted the blood fox expert’s soul source. Ye Liuyun then conducted a soul search. He had discovered that there were far too many blood foxes here and wanted to see whether any had been overlooked.

The soul search revealed something even more dangerous.

This blood fox family indeed had an even more powerful blood fox ancestor. The ancestor had lived in seclusion for years behind the highest cliff in this Thousand Burial Mountain.

The medicinal herbs cultivated by these blood foxes were actually their food and cultivation resources. Absorbing human blood, however, was a technique they had learned later, which they used to enhance the power of their bloodlines.

Long ago, the blood fox ancestor had encountered a demonic cultivator in the south, who had taught it this cultivation method. Moreover, the blood fox ancestor possessed a Bloodthirsty Demon Crystal, specifically used to absorb the power of bloodline of powerful beings.

However, the blood fox ancestor was at the eighth level of the Taixu Realm, and Ye Liuyun did not know whether he was its match. It was likely that even the pressure released by such an expert would be more than he could withstand.

"Let’s transplant their medicine garden first!"

As Ye Liuyun walked, he also told Chen Yueying about the blood fox ancestor.

"Then forget it. We can’t deal with an expert like that. After we return, we’ll report this to the sect and have the sect send an expert to handle it!"

As soon as Chen Yueying heard the blood fox ancestor’s cultivation level, she knew that they were no match for it. Worried that Ye Liuyun would take the risk, she immediately urged him not to act.

"Mm!" Ye Liuyun agreed verbally, but inwardly he was thinking that if he used the God-Slaying Bow or the black-and-white light, he might still be able to kill it. Otherwise, failing to eliminate the threat at its roots would lead to endless trouble in the future.

He had wiped out the blood foxes’ entire nest, so the blood fox ancestor would certainly seek revenge. As for something like the Bloodthirsty Demon Crystal, he did not need it and was not interested in it, but he could let the Demon-Sealing Stele absorb it and improve its power.

However, even if he went, he could not take Chen Yueying with him, lest she be implicated.

Without showing anything on the surface, he and Chen Yueying divided up the medicinal herbs cultivated by the blood foxes and planted them separately in their own spatial worlds. This way, he had obtained some high-grade medicinal herbs from the Taixu Realm. If Lin Luoyi and the others needed them in the future, they would not be left without any herbs at all.

He then cultivated where he was, returning to his spatial world to recover his divine essence. He had previously exhausted all his divine essence using the Great Wilderness Bow, and he would not dare move against the blood fox ancestor until he had fully recovered it.

This was the blood foxes’ territory, so they were not worried that any other ferocious beasts would dare approach.

Ye Liuyun gave Chen Yueying Yue Hengfeng’s treasure that could defend against bloodline attacks, as well as the fire phoenix in his sea of consciousness, to help strengthen her defenses.

Ye Liuyun gave the bow to Xiao Yunfang. It was a sixth-grade Void-rank treasure, but Qiong Qi still needed to help add a tracking array to it.

The wings were a treasure refined from the wings of a roc at the ninth level of the Taixu Realm. Worn on the back, they allowed long-distance flight and were even faster than a third-grade Void-rank flying vessel. Ye Liuyun gave them to Meng Qingyin.

Of the blood fox heads, he kept only the least conspicuous one to take back and complete the mission. He gave all the rest to the demonic beasts. The blood foxes’ power of bloodline was extremely strong, and their cultivation levels were high, making them excellent cultivation resources for demonic beasts.

As for the remaining treasures, he gave all the long spears to the White Tiger to refine. He let everyone choose from the rest first, and planned to sell whatever remained to exchange for resources.

These disciples of the Thousand Spirits Sect were all quite wealthy. Ye Liuyun had obtained a considerable amount of origin power and crystals, enough for everyone to receive some resources for cultivating their true essence. The origin power he had just acquired was also perfect for rapidly replenishing the divine essence he had expended.

While cultivating, he also had Qiong Qi set up a defensive formation. He estimated that with this defensive formation, along with the soul fire phoenix and red light sphere Chen Yueying had just obtained, and four golden dragon puppets left behind when he departed, she should be completely safe.

Thus, after his divine essence had recovered, he left four golden dragons behind and told Chen Yueying that he was going to scout ahead, asking her to wait inside the formation.

Chen Yueying knew that he was unwilling to give up and was determined to kill the blood fox ancestor. But she also felt that going with him would only hold him back, so she agreed and waited inside the formation.

"When asked to save someone, he’s completely indifferent, yet he’s truly eager to risk his life killing blood foxes!" Chen Yueying muttered, unable to understand what Ye Liuyun was thinking.
