As soon as the bearded martial cultivator finished cursing, the stone puppet caught up with the strongest martial cultivator and blew him apart with a single punch. It then charged toward the old man again.

The old man was already so confused by the illusion that he could not defeat the Yin-soul. With the Onyx bearing down on him, he panicked even more and failed to dodge an attack from a martial cultivator beside him. Before the Onyx could even reach him, he was killed outright.

Only then did Ye Liuyun recall the stone puppet.

“Everyone who dares threaten me is dead,” he said flatly.

At this point, he also focused his attention on dealing with the Onyx. But suddenly, several martial cultivators who could no longer withstand the attacks of the illusion simultaneously released their soul spirits into Ye Liuyun’s sea of consciousness.

Knowing they were finished, they wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to kill Ye Liuyun. Perhaps they could even seize control of his body and escape from this place.

But unexpectedly, after the soul spirits of those men entered, their physical bodies fell one after another. Ye Liuyun, however, remained completely unaffected.

Yet he suddenly abandoned his plan to defeat the Onyx immediately.

“Since all these people want me dead, I might as well turn their own weapons against them and use the illusion here to kill them all. It’s not as if they’re any use to me alive!”

With that thought, he shifted to the side and resumed dodging the Onyx’s attacks.

“Kid, I truly never intended to harm you!”

At that moment, the bearded martial cultivator also noticed the change in Ye Liuyun. He immediately realized that Ye Liuyun had been provoked and intended to kill them all.

He promptly declared his stance to Ye Liuyun, then removed his Interspatial Ring and threw it directly to him.

He explained to Ye Liuyun, “It’s all yours. My name is Peng Lie, and I’m willing to acknowledge you as my master, as long as you spare my life. I also have a daughter who’s only three years old. If I die, she’ll be doomed!”

“Then sign a master-servant contract!” Ye Liuyun agreed at once.

Ye Liuyun had not thought badly of the bearded man to begin with. Besides, the man had seen the situation clearly, so Ye Liuyun decided to spare his life.

Peng Lie did not hesitate either. He immediately signed the master-servant contract and acknowledged Ye Liuyun as his master, after which Ye Liuyun took him into his spatial world.

Some of the other martial cultivators immediately followed suit and preserved their lives as well. Those who refused to become someone’s servants ultimately died in battle.

In the end, aside from the martial cultivators Ye Liuyun had taken into his spatial world, everyone outside had been slaughtered. Only then did Ye Liuyun unleash his strength, using his left arm to channel divine essence, the power of heaven and earth, Buddhist-demonic power, and blade intent. He bombarded the Onyx with everything he had, blasting away a patch of stone from its chest and forcing it back two steps.

The main reason was that Ye Liuyun’s blade intent was too powerful. Without it, relying solely on divine essence and the power of heaven and earth, he definitely could not have forced the Onyx back. As for burning it with fire, he was reluctant to do that.

The Onyx immediately admitted defeat as well and acknowledged Ye Liuyun as its master. It also told him that after entering the stone chamber, he should sit on the meditation cushion and cultivate the technique left behind by its former master. As long as he could reach the entry level, the stone door would open.

But the Onyx did not know exactly what kind of technique it was.

Ye Liuyun did not hurry inside. Instead, he first cleaned up the battlefield outside, gathering all the resources from the storage rings and collecting the corpses to feed to the ferocious beasts. Only then did he have the three stone men guard the outside of the stone chamber while he entered, sat on the meditation cushion, and began cultivating.

Only after sitting down did he realize that the meditation cushion allowed him to choose a cultivation technique. He could choose either Spatial Force or illusion arts.

Ye Liuyun naturally chose Spatial Force without the slightest hesitation. The meditation cushion then imparted to him a technique called the “Temporal-Spatial Heart Method.”

Just reading the introductory text at the beginning of the technique was enough to leave him astonished.

Even the book demon cried out, “This technique is worth every penny! What a treasure!”

“Huh? This technique has restrictions, and you can see them too?” Ye Liuyun was distracted by the book demon’s outburst.

“Nonsense. What restriction could possibly stop me?” the book demon said disdainfully. “Hurry up and focus on cultivating. Don’t rush to leave. The original owner of this technique must have been incredibly powerful. Perhaps he isn’t dead!”

This technique did not merely teach one how to cultivate Spatial Force; it also contained methods for cultivating temporal power. Someone capable of that would not die easily, which was why the book demon had said that.

Ye Liuyun suddenly thought, “If this Divine King had finished cultivating this technique, he could use temporal power to return to any point in time before his death. He truly would have become an existence that could not die!”

However, after carefully studying the technique, he discovered that the first half had indeed already been cultivated by the Divine King, while the second half consisted entirely of the Divine King’s speculations. In other words, at least when the Divine King completed the technique, he had not yet cultivated to that level.

At that time, the Divine King’s temporal power was not as strong as Ye Liuyun’s current level. His Spatial Force, however, had already far surpassed Ye Liuyun’s.

According to this technique, the area in which Ye Liuyun could rapidly improve was still Spatial Force. As for temporal power, the technique provided him with a point of reference for cultivation, and he could try it later.

The distinctive feature of this technique was that it placed even greater emphasis on merging man with nature. It did not merely emphasize breaking through and traversing the void, but merging with the void itself. This was an entirely different method of cultivation.

Ye Liuyun felt that cultivating it would do him no harm. Thus, he calmed his mind and followed the method described in the technique, allowing himself to merge into the void.

He already had a certain foundation in both spatial and temporal power, so cultivating it was not difficult. He merely needed to learn how to borrow strength, follow the momentum of heaven and earth, and merge into the void.

It was somewhat like a soul spirit’s soul journey through the Great Void. The only difference was that he was allowing his physical body to merge into the void.

Moreover, while cultivating, Ye Liuyun used temporal power to halt the flow of time, giving himself more time to cultivate. He could also make space completely still, allowing him to act as he pleased.

This method of cultivation not only tempered his temporal power, but also allowed him to fuse his cultivation of time and space together, improving both at once.

“Not bad, not bad! This really is an excellent method of cultivation!” After cultivating, Ye Liuyun continued to praise it, feeling that the Divine King who had created the technique was extraordinary to have been able to fuse these two powers together.

“He still hasn’t fused them completely. The two powers have yet to become one,” the book demon began critiquing again.

“That’s good enough. At least he’s better than you! You only know how to use them, but you can’t summarize them into a complete cultivation technique!” Ye Liuyun immediately retorted.

The book demon was actually extremely proficient in both areas, but Ye Liuyun had already discovered that it could not explain them. Being able to offer him a few pointers was already impressive; it was absolutely incapable of presenting them in such a systematic manner.

The book demon had nothing to say to that. Ye Liuyun was right. It knew how to use the powers, but could not explain them.

Ye Liuyun soon reached the entry level of the technique and merged himself into the void. Once he had grasped this sensation, finding the void barrier on the fourth level became extremely easy.

Ye Liuyun did not delay any longer. He felt that cultivating to this state here was enough; he could not stay in this place forever without leaving.
