Chapter 640: Chapter 410: Let’s Have Some Role-playing
Stars Association Headquarters, Medical Department, General Ward.
Zhou Chen pushed the door open and walked into the hospital room. Li Xiye was sitting on the bed, intently fiddling with a gorgeous and intricate crown. An IV line was attached to her hand, the fluid in the bag a high-concentration Life Potion the color of a ruby, capable of replenishing all sorts of depleted energy, including Life Force, Spiritual Power, and Essence.
"Don’t tell me you actually accepted the Prophet as your godfather?" Li Xiye showed him the gorgeous crown in her hands. "He just gave away an Authority, just like that."
"Maybe he didn’t have any use for it?" Zhou Chen said as he sat down on the bed. "To be honest, I didn’t expect him to be so generous either."
He had been tempted from the moment the Prophet mentioned an Authority suitable for Li Xiye. He’d figured he would have to work a few more jobs for the Prophet to get his hands on it and give it to her, but he’d never imagined the Prophet would be so forthcoming, handing it over right after the mission ended.
"What Realm is this Authority for?" Zhou Chen asked.
Li Xiye said, "It’s an Authority of the Will Realm, which is perfect for me. The Star Association reshaped it once, removing the residual influence of its previous owner and restoring it to its original, pure state. It’s highly malleable, so after I contain it, I can adjust and reshape it to suit myself. It’ll probably get a lot of flashy light effects after I’m done."
"Can you give it the RGB treatment, like in an RPG?" Zhou Chen asked curiously.
"...Theoretically, I could, but I’d be laughed to death."
"Are there any conditions for containing it?"
"Nope," Li Xiye said. "This is a pure Authority, not a special Extraordinary Artifact formed by fusing with some item. So there are no conditions to contain it. Even a normal person could use it if they got their hands on it."
As she spoke, she forged a Soul connection with the crown and easily contained it. The crown in her hand vanished into thin air.
A few seconds later, cyan arcs of electricity flared to life above Li Xiye’s head, forming a solemn, tyrannical, and cold-looking diadem.
In that instant, her entire demeanor became majestic. Her cyan pupils blazed with a stern fire, like the Sun, transforming her into an unapproachable, high-reigning queen.
Zhou Chen’s heart skipped a beat, then began to pound in his chest. His mouth went dry, and he felt an uncontrollable urge to pull her into an embrace.
Li Xiye placed a hand on his chest and asked with a deadpan expression:
"What do you think you’re doing?"
"I want to..."
Li Xiye’s expression immediately turned cold and disdainful. "You’re a hopeless pervert."
But she drew her hand back, no longer resisting.
’This guy really likes this sort of thing. I guess we can do a little role-playing today...’ Li Xiye thought to herself.
She and Zhou Chen were in the honeymoon phase of their relationship, wanting to be stuck to each other’s side every day. They hadn’t really seen each other or been intimate for the past few days, and now that everything was over, they were alone in a room together. Her heart immediately began to race, and she wanted to get close to Zhou Chen.
Zhou Chen took the hint. He smiled, reached out, and tilted Li Xiye’s chin up. But before he could even say a word, Li Xiye broke character. Her majestic, cold expression vanished, and a shy blush quickly spread across her face, making her look like a ripe apple.
"You’re..." Zhou Chen was stunned.
"What are you looking at..." Li Xiye felt like she’d lost all face and glared back at him in mortified anger, though the blush on her cheeks just made her look adorable.
She didn’t know how she had broken character so easily. Logically, with her mental fortitude, something like this shouldn’t have happened. But the moment Zhou Chen tenderly lifted her chin, she felt so shy, so embarrassed, that she couldn’t stop her face from burning hot.
"So your Defense Power is this low," Zhou Chen laughed.
He’d always been on the receiving end of Li Xiye’s fierce advances, leaving him flustered. It was only now that he realized she was a glass cannon with high attack but low defense; if he just got serious and took the initiative to flirt, she couldn’t handle it.
"..." Blushing, Li Xiye turned her head away and refused to speak to him.
With a mere thought, Zhou Chen used Alchemy to lock the door and draw the curtains, then pinned Li Xiye beneath him.

"Ms. Erin Elizabeth, your discharge paperwork is complete. Please take your ID."
The receptionist handed the documents back to Erin.
Erin put her things away and asked politely, "I’m looking for my friends. Could you look up their room numbers for me?"
She had been transferred out along with that group of Operators, and they had all received treatment together. The constantly shifting flow of time in Sinful City had indirectly affected them, causing them to develop "Time Disorder Syndrome." This meant they perceived the passage of time incorrectly; a single minute might feel agonizingly long, while an hour could pass in a flash.
As a result, they all underwent psychiatric treatment and have since recovered.
After her treatment was complete, Erin tried to contact Zhou Chen and Li Xiye, but she got no reply to her messages, and her calls wouldn’t connect.
’Maybe they were both seriously injured and are still in treatment.’
Anxiety crept into Erin’s heart at the thought. After getting out of Sinful City, she had heard that a nuclear explosion had occurred at Liushan Prison—and Zhou Chen had been right there at the time...
"I’ve found the information on your two friends," the receptionist said. "A Mr. Zhou Chen just completed his discharge paperwork a short while ago. A Ms. Li Xiye is still admitted. Her room is in Wing B, on the 17th floor, room 532."
’Zhou Chen was discharged?’ Erin’s heart leaped with joy. ’That must mean his injuries weren’t too serious.’ But her joy was immediately followed by worry, because Li Xiye was still in the hospital. Her injuries might be severe.
"Thank you," she said to the receptionist, then hurried toward Li Xiye’s room.
When she arrived at the hospital room, Erin knocked a few times, but there was no response.
