Chapter 642: Chapter 411: Almost Got Handled by a Bad Woman

The Celestial Kingdom.

This was a sacred paradise, bathed in universal light. Countless holy, haloed Angels filled the air, their faces lit with innocent smiles as they played Gold instruments and devoutly sang hymns. Their solemn chorus echoed throughout the heavens.

Within the Celestial Kingdom stood a vast, magnificent palace that soared into the clouds, its structure like a sharp sword thrusting straight toward the heavens.

The "Pope," wearing a triple crown, holding a Magic Staff, and clad in magnificent robes, stood on a palace balcony. As was his custom, he gazed down upon the Celestial Kingdom, surveying his blissful paradise. Here, there was no sorrow, grief, or pain—only happiness, comfort, peace, and joy.

The prayer bells rang out, their peals vast and thundering. Countless people in pure white robes streamed onto the streets, bowing in worship toward the Holy Hall. Tens of millions of believers knelt, forming a spectacular, endless tide of white.

"Your Holiness, there is news," a voice said from behind the "Pope" just then.

"Speak."

"Daun, the former Archbishop of the Dawn Church, has ascended to Tier Five. He killed Reina in the City of Ecstasy and then destroyed it," the church official said.

"Daun?" The Pope’s eyes narrowed. "Interesting. He comes out of seclusion, ascends to Tier Five, and immediately runs off to the Abyss to execute a traitor... And no one in the Abyss noticed his movements?"

"Some did, but he killed them all. His location wasn’t fully exposed until he destroyed the City of Ecstasy, and by then, he was long gone," the church official replied.

"The Abyss really is full of incompetents."

The Pope gazed coldly at the scene below. After a long moment, he asked, "Has the Dawn Church been re-established?"

"Yes," the church official nodded. "The Empress, Cain, and the Wheel of Destiny have invited you to a meeting."

The next second, a ray of light enveloped the "Pope."

Inside a vast hall, the "Pope’s" projection materialized in a chair. Three other figures were already present at the long table.

"You’ve all heard the news. Daun has ascended to Tier Five and the Dawn Church has been re-established. In addition, the Martial Artist died during the Hai City incident."

The speaker was Cain, dressed in a burlap robe and one of the leaders of Fallen Paradise.

"The Martial Artist was the most brilliant up-and-comer in recent years. It’s a shame he died," the beautiful, blonde Empress commented dispassionately. ’The dead aren’t worth wasting emotions on.’

"I told him long ago that he was facing a bloody calamity and that he shouldn’t be running around. But he refused to listen, insisting that his fate was his to control, not heaven’s. *Sigh*." The white-bearded old man shook his head in resignation. "This is destiny..."

A promising talent like the Martial Artist was a great loss. Had he lived, he could have one day reached the level of the Unmoving Bright King and become a powerful champion for Fallen Paradise. Unfortunately, he was too proud to even listen to the Wheel of Destiny, determined to defy the heavens and change his own fate.

However, the four of them only exchanged a few sentences on the matter, showing little regret. A dead genius is no genius at all. No matter how brilliant the Martial Artist had been in life, he was dead now—worthless. It wouldn’t be long before he was completely forgotten.

Cain brought the topic back on track. "With Daun’s return and the re-establishment of the Dawn Church, the Abyss will surely not remain idle once they learn of it. Add to that the approaching period of Abyssal expansion... In the worst-case scenario, a new Abyssal Demon Tide is likely to erupt."

"That would be a good thing for us," the Wheel of Destiny said with a chuckle, stroking his beard as overlapping wheels of light spun within his eyes. "Not long ago, I foresaw a great vortex of destiny and a turning of the tides for this era, just like fourteen years ago, only even more intense. Perhaps an important figure will fall this time."

"Oh?" The Pope’s interest was piqued. "Can you determine which side?"

The Wheel of Destiny shook his head. "I can’t. I only have a premonition that something major is about to happen; I know nothing of the specific time, place, or any further details. You know that when an event involves too many beings of high Status, the timelines, causality, and even fate itself become as muddled as boiled-over soup. It could happen at any time."

The Empress mused for a moment, "Could it be Daun becoming the new ’Sun’? Noah may have fallen, but the Sun’s Authority is still in the hands of the Star Association."

"Impossible," Cain stated decisively. "With Noah’s death, another ’Sun’ cannot be born in this World. Perhaps in a few hundred years, but not now. In this era, Noah’s influence in both the mundane and Extraordinary Worlds has yet to fade. No one can replace him.

Besides, wielding the Sun’s Authority isn’t just a matter of strength; it requires the right character. Noah was a pure hero and an idealist, which is why he became the world’s acknowledged King of the Sun. Daun is a far cry from that.

So we have no reason to worry about a new ’Sun’ appearing."

"Indeed," the Pope nodded.

"Nevertheless, we still need to deal with Daun. He has, after all, become a Tier Five in the Sun Realm," Cain added.

The Empress voiced her agreement. "I’ll contact the Abyssal Influence shortly."

Ascenders of the Sun Realm are a hard counter to Abyssal Demons. Back in the day, the Dawn Church’s campaigns left many factions in the Abyss deeply traumatized. Noah himself single-handedly slaughtered countless Tier Five Monarchs, making even the Abyssal Kings extremely wary of him.

To kill Noah, during the Night of the Sun’s Fall, the Abyssal Kings paid any price to descend in their true forms. Although they were all gravely wounded in the process, they succeeded in killing Noah—the greatest threat the Abyss had ever faced.
