Chapter 1434: The Child’s Death [4]

Arlo Seys folded his arms, glaring coldly at Jose Floyd, and snapped at his brother‑in‑law Jorge Saxton, who was trying to play peacemaker on the side. "Jorge Saxton, if back then Ariel was pregnant and I killed the baby, what would you have done?"

What would he do?

Jorge’s face went dark on the spot. His voice was icy as he shot back, "Then you wouldn’t be here now, I’d have killed you already! Arlo Seys, what the hell are you implying? If you’d dared kill my nephew back then, treated my sister like that, you think I’d ever have agreed to this marriage?"

Arlo nodded in full agreement, looking all righteous and justified, his gaze cutting toward Jose. While the two of them were still stunned, he suddenly swung another brutal punch straight at Jose!

"Exactly! Jorge, you’re right! So Jose Floyd, today I’m going to kill you!"

Put this on any brother, he’d beat the crap out of the scumbag for his little sister!

Arlo’s chill made Jorge freeze for a second. Seeing the two of them brawling again, Jorge cursed out loud and rushed over to pull them apart.

"Gentlemen talk, don’t fight! You two fucking grandpas!" Jorge yelled, pissed off.

Arlo swept a look over Jose, cold and sharp at the corners of his eyes. "Jose Floyd, the damage you did to Nicole— you’re the kind of man I look down on the most. Even if you end up successful and famous, in your bones you’re still just a scumbag."

Jorge: "...Arlo, yeah, a lot of shit has gone down lately. Camden and Andrea Greenwood did lay hands on Nicole, but that doesn’t have much to do with Jose. When you had the police take those two in, Jose didn’t interfere."

"He fucking better not!" Arlo kept his arms folded, expression ice‑cold. "All the hurt, he brought it down on Nicole. If he dares interfere, Jorge, forget your face, I won’t give face to anybody. I’ll beat him to death if I have to!"

Jose let out a cold laugh. "What happens between me and Nicole has fuck‑all to do with you, doesn’t it?"

Faced with his arrogant chill, Arlo stared him down, expression frosty, and spat out, "An elder brother is like a father. Jose Floyd, as long as I’m here, if you ever dare get near Nicole again, I won’t let you off. Just beating you up is me going easy on you."

Jorge: "...You two grandpas, can we please sit down and talk this out calmly?"

"There’s nothing to talk about." Jose looked at Arlo, listening to him warn him to stay away from Nicole, and the cold in his eyes spread.

Nicole had already refused to start over with him, his mood had been shit for days. And now Arlo was warning him not to go near her?

Jose’s irritation only became more obvious.

Arlo’s anger at Jose’s attitude had already hit the roof. Hurt his sister and then think he can just smirk and walk away?

In his fucking dreams.

Arlo jabbed a finger hard at Jose, his eyes flashing with icy light. "Jose Floyd, you’re not qualified to say you love her. Whatever good you gave Nicole in those five years at your side, she already paid back in full."

"Nicole still owes me. And you have no right to meddle in what happens between us." Jose’s fists clenched tight.

No debt, no entanglement. What Nicole owes him is not something he’ll let her erase with one sentence.

He wants Nicole to owe him, owe him for a lifetime.

"No right to meddle?" Arlo sneered. "Go ahead and try. With me here, let’s see if you can ever marry anyone from the Seys Family. You’re not qualified. You don’t deserve it at all. That one ectopic pregnancy with massive hemorrhaging— she almost died on the operating table, and that already paid back every last thing she owed you. Don’t even mention the rest! Jose Floyd, I want the shit between you and Nicole to end right now."

For a man like this, this warning is the last one he’s going to give. If there’s a next time, he’ll use every means at his disposal and teach him a brutal lesson.
