Love Strategy: CEO He is Really Scheming!
Chapter 1526: Only Those Who Never Truly Loved Can Remain Friends After Breaking Up
Mm, five words, three of them are "I’m sorry," the other two are her name, and at this point is there really any need to keep tangling with it?
When a person, a man, doesn’t want to marry you, did he ever really love you with his whole heart?
A man who can’t even give you a marriage says he loves you—would you believe it?
Anyway, she, Lydia Brooke, does not believe that the high-and-mighty Jorge Saxton ever loved her.
"Lydia, can we please not be like this... even if you just treat me as a friend, that’s still..." The bitterness in Jorge Saxton’s chest was impossible to put into words.
Lydia Brooke held the bottle of mineral water, her gaze calmly resting on Jorge for a few seconds, then suddenly laughed, her voice carrying a faint chill: "Jorge Saxton, have you ever heard this saying?... People who can still be friends after breaking up are all people who never loved each other seriously. Jorge Saxton, ask yourself honestly—when it comes to me, did you ever love me?"
"Lydia, it was my fault for not showing up at the wedding, but I really do lo—"
"That sentence is extra scummy! Jorge, before I didn’t think you were a jerk, now I think you’re the most scummy man on earth! No, wait, I should say all of you men are scum! You are, and Zachary Houston is too!"
The assistant suddenly spoke up softly to remind her: "Lydia, stop, they’re recording the show here. If some Zachary Houston fan hears you, it’ll be another round of flame wars."
Lydia Brooke handed the water in her hand to the assistant. Seeing that the stage was almost ready and the live recording was starting again, she stepped onto the stage in her high heels.
Lydia’s back was straight, radiating a cold clarity that made Jorge Saxton let out a quiet sigh.
"Uncle, you are literally the worst guy at chasing girls I’ve ever seen. Our classmates in primary school already know to give chocolate and flowers. How are you supposed to win a girl over like this? No girl is going to like you!" Iris Seys couldn’t help complaining. "My brother and I are already this big. Uncle, when are you finally going to win over Sister Lydia?"
"Stop stabbing my heart! Your mom’s just simple; she got tricked early on by your dad, Arlo Seys. But Lydia has both EQ and IQ." Jorge Saxton folded his arms across his chest, giving his little niece a sideways look.
Iris snorted, mimicking him by folding her arms, her tone lofty: "Isn’t it just that your emotional intelligence and IQ are both no match for my dad’s, so you still haven’t gotten the girl? Ugh, Uncle, you’re throwing my mom—your own little sister—under the bus just to chase Sister Lydia, is that really okay? Aren’t you afraid my dad will beat you up?"
"If I’d stepped in back then, you really think your dad could’ve married your mom? What a joke!" Jorge turned around and walked off.
Iris hurried to catch up. "No one’s stopping you and Sister Lydia either. You think the Saxton Family can actually block you, Uncle? But you still can’t get Sister Lydia. Uncle, you should go ask my dad for some tips on how to actually win a wife."
"...So your uncle is really that much worse than your dad?" Jorge was fuming.
Iris chuckled. "My brother and I existing, that’s a direct crit to you, isn’t it? We’re already this big, and you’re still single. So when it comes to relationships, you really should humbly ask my dad for advice."
Jorge stopped walking. "Iris, your mom was the one who chased your dad back then! Your dad didn’t do anything!"
"My dad’s ultimate life motto: chasing someone doesn’t necessarily mean you have to take action—just use your brain and it’s done. I think he’s totally right. See, my dad just used his brain a little, and my mom chased herself right into his arms. That’s the highest level."
"The shamelessness-at-its-highest-level award goes to your dad," Jorge commented.
Arlo Seys’s tricks only work on his own little sister, okay! How could they possibly fool someone like Lydia!
Iris pulled open the back door and got in, shrugging. "Uncle, you refuse to be shameless, so you can just stay single..."
