Iris Seys caught up with Finley Sutherland, glancing at Finley who was carrying her backpack, lazily following behind without any intention of taking it from him.

"Come to my house for dinner, your mom and dad are at a party today. I talked to my mom, so you’ll have dinner at my place tonight."

"Oh." Iris Seys followed Finley.

The two went downstairs and saw Ryan Seys at the ping-pong table in the sports field.

"Bro, we’re going home, having dinner at our godparents’ house," Iris Seys shouted to the happily playing Ryan Seys.

Ryan pointed his ping-pong paddle at his opponent, raising his thick eyebrows, "So, are we still playing or not? If not, let’s go home."

"You should leave. You’re so good that with you on the team, we don’t even get to play. We’ve wanted you to leave for ages."

"...You’re saying that out of jealousy because you have no skill!" Ryan glanced at his teammates.

"Yes, yes, Master Seys, you better go, we haven’t had a chance to play. We won’t play with you next time."

"Bro, let’s go," Iris Seys called out to Ryan who was about to respond.

Ryan put down the paddle, "Once I’m gone, you’re going to get crushed, having no honor at all. You should be grateful to be on my team."

The crowd gave him a mocking look.

Ryan disdainfully followed the pace of his sister and Finley.

"What took you so long? Why are you only coming out now?" Ryan slung the backpack over his shoulder, flicking his hair, hands in pockets, walking leisurely.

"Finley was helping me with my studies, we just came out. I’m so hungry, let’s hurry up."

Iris Seys quickened her pace.

Ryan cheerfully got close to Finley, elbowing his arm and glancing at the two backpacks he held, laughing, "Finley, why do I feel like you’ve become my sister’s little follower? Tell me, why are you being so nice to my sister, what’s your agenda?"

Finley shot Ryan a glance, "What’s there about your sister for me to want? You name her strong points and see if you can come up with three."

"...Is it really okay to talk about my sister like that! No wonder Iris calls you sharp-tongued. With other girls, you’re a bit indifferent, but you don’t speak this sharply. Why are you so keen on poking fun at Iris?"

"It’s because Iris Seys really is quite dumb, even you, her brother, can’t name her strong points, what do you think she has?" Finley responded calmly.

Ryan touched his nose, glancing at Finley, "Honestly, sometimes when you walk with my sister, she always invites me along, like now, I always feel like a third wheel, shining brightly between you and Iris, standing out awkwardly."

Finley sized up Ryan, his eyes subtly shifting.

"What kind of look is that! Finley, hey hey hey, what kind of look is that," Ryan straightened himself, feeling somewhat unnatural under Finley’s gaze.

Finley chuckled softly, his voice clear, "You really do have good self-awareness."

After speaking, Finley quickened his pace to catch up with Iris Seys in front.

Ryan watched Finley’s back, almost tempted to curse, feeling a strong sense of disdain!

Ryan stood behind, watching Finley walk to Iris’s left, placing her on the inside of the sidewalk, his gaze showing a moment of surprise.

"Finley’s attentiveness to Iris, is it really unintentional? Maybe I’m overthinking it. After growing up together all these years, Finley sees Iris as a sister too, right? Even though Iris is older, it’s Finley who’s always attentive. Iris inherited mom’s scatterbrain, never as detail-oriented as Finley, since Aunt Daisy is much more attentive than mom...."
