Chapter 1549: I Want to Stay in City C

Beau Haston also noticed the unusual behavior of Lydia Brooke and slightly turned his head to ask, "What’s wrong?"

Lydia shook her head, "It’s nothing, how about we change—" Lydia’s words were not finished when she saw Derek Brooke had already sat at the table next to Jorge Saxton, her fingers unconsciously pinching into her palm.

"Let’s order, I’m really hungry." Derek looked at Lydia, who was standing there somewhat dazed.

Lydia snapped back and smiled faintly, trying not to look at the person sitting next to her, before taking a seat. She handed the menu to Derek, "You order."

Beau Haston sat directly opposite Lydia Brooke, with Derek Brooke sitting next to her.

As soon as Lydia’s voice came out, the originally uninterested Jorge Saxton subconsciously raised his eyebrows towards his right side, moving his wrist slightly as his watch followed, his eyes deep.

Their seats were relatively close, Jorge Saxton’s gaze fell over, and Lydia’s hand holding the tea served by the waiter became somewhat stiff.

Derek ordered the food, and when he noticed Lydia’s finger movements, his eyes lightly glanced to the left, catching a glimpse of a flawless, outstanding face.

"Lydia, Derek, how do you plan to arrange things?" Beau Haston asked.

Lydia snapped back, her eyes somewhat unnatural, "I want him to still go abroad with you..."

In City C, Derek running into certain people was indeed too likely.

"I refuse!" Derek coldly replied, "Unless you come abroad with me, I won’t go back alone."

"Derek, my current work still has a lot that needs to be completed, I can’t go abroad with you. Please wait for me, I will finish my work as soon as possible, and I’ll try to take more time to accompany you."

"City C isn’t without schools, Riveredge Middle School is quite good. When I came to City C, I checked it out, Riveredge’s middle and elementary schools are both quite good. As for high schools, Virtue High School and Scenic Hill High School are both good options."

Lydia did not expect Derek to check out so many schools, it looks like he has set his mind on staying in City C, which makes Lydia very troubled.

Beau Haston smiled at Lydia, "If he likes it, then let him stay here. Actually, it’s not good for you and Derek to be apart for so long, let him stay with you. I’ll be here for a while, consider it well. If Derek wants to go abroad with me, that’s okay too."

This seemed to be the only option, Lydia nodded.

Derek ate his food, "Riveredge Middle School, I’ll transfer there."

"Are you willing to leave your friends?" Lydia asked with a smile.

"I can go back to visit my friends during vacations anyway. I don’t want to be apart from you, I don’t want to go abroad." Derek replied coldly.

"Then see if you can adapt to the teaching here first, then we’ll talk. I’ll take you to Riveredge Middle School to have a look sometime."

"Okay."

"Are you two abandoning me while you’re in City C?" Mikey Haston asked with a smile.

Derek raised an eyebrow, "Uncle Haston, why don’t you stay here too?"

Lydia pinched her son’s arm under the table.

Her son always wanted her to find him a stepfather; this idea is simply unbelievable.

Mikey Haston looked at Lydia with a deep gaze and chuckled, "I do want to, but let’s talk about it later. For now, you both coming back with me would be the best option."

Then you’ll just end up alone. Derek muttered to himself.

At the next table, Jorge Saxton watched the interaction among the three, becoming increasingly displeased, his eyes swirling with dark currents, sharply directed at the man sitting opposite Lydia...
