"You’re just biased against Arlo because he didn’t call you ’bro-in-law’. Come on, my brother, you can’t be like this. You have to love everything about me, love me and also love Arlo."

"Alright, enough with the mushiness. Can I borrow Iris for a few days and take her with me?" Jorge Saxton asked.

"Hmm? Iris needs to study, bro," Ariel Morris looked at Jorge Saxton.

"I’ll pick her up and drop her off. I need her for two days," Jorge Saxton said with a serious expression.

Ariel Morris looked at Jorge Saxton, "Are you using Iris to test if people really care about you? Having her pretend to be your daughter to see if those women will accept you having a kid?"

"Ariel, your imagination could use some more creativity," Jorge Saxton got up, "I’m going to school to pick up Iris. Need me to bring Ryan Seys back for you?"

"I’d love that, old bro," Ariel Morris laughed.

"You’re just good at making me serve you." Jorge Saxton grabbed his car keys and headed outside, not forgetting to add back: "Remember my scarf."

"Got it, drive safely, old bro."

-

Jorge Saxton drove to Riveredge Middle School’s elementary section to pick up Ryan Seys and Iris Seys. He happened to meet Dawn Sutherland, who was picking up Finley Sutherland at the school gate.

"Why are you the one picking up the kids today?" Dawn Sutherland asked softly.

With the years passing, Dawn Sutherland appeared more mature and gentle, radiating warmth and elegant charm, making others naturally fond of him.

Jorge Saxton called Ryan Seys out of school to get in the car, only to realize that Iris Seys was nowhere to be seen, "Where’s your sister?" Jorge Saxton turned back to ask Ryan Seys.

Ryan Seys pointed at the school, "She and Finley are in the classroom; it’s been the same every day."

"You’re just leaving your sister behind like that?" Jorge Saxton scolded Ryan Seys.

Ryan Seys shrugged, "Uncle, you don’t know how it feels to be the third wheel with those two... I feel like I’m a walking light bulb, blindingly bright, painfully visible."

Jorge Saxton and Dawn Sutherland burst out laughing.

"You little rascal, your sister and Finley’s reputation will be ruined by you sooner or later." Jorge Saxton laughed as he reprimanded.

"I’m not taking the blame. Those two even have reputations at school? Everyone knows Iris has two brothers now, one is me, the other is Finley." Ryan Seys spread his hands, unwilling to take responsibility.

Dawn Sutherland chuckled, "Looks like Arlo and I are going to become even closer relatives. Honestly, I wholeheartedly support my son pursuing Iris."

"Kids who play together have deep feelings. Finley, Iris, and Ryan were childhood friends; deep feelings are natural. You and Arlo, along with Ariel, have always been close, so the kids become naturally familiar. Alright, I’m taking Iris and heading out. Ryan, go get your sister."

"Why am I always the third wheel?" Ryan Seys expressed his refusal.

"Because you’re bright! Hurry up and go." Jorge Saxton playfully gave Ryan Seys a flick on the head.

Ryan Seys begrudgingly entered the school to call Iris Seys.

Soon enough, Iris Seys and Finley Sutherland emerged alongside Ryan, chatting and laughing behind him. Under the setting sun, their fair skin and outstanding features indeed made them look like a perfect golden couple.

Dawn Sutherland touched his nose, watching Ryan Seys walking alone in front, cleared his throat lightly: "I have to admit, Ryan does kind of seem like the light bulb."

"Dawn, your son is better at taking initiative than you, so young and already reaching out to those close to home," Jorge Saxton laughed deeply.

The comment sounded rather off, with a heavy tone of teasing.

Clearly teasing about how he had buried his love for Daisy deeply in his heart, afraid to confess.
