Madame is Pretending to be an Academic Slacker Again!

Chapter 1043 - 1042: Joy One Moment, Plunged into Despair the Next

  • Next Chapter

At this moment, in the forest, a few Student Union seniors, far more wretched than them, are experiencing the most miserable moment of their lives.

Bald heads, faces burned, crawling on the ground like bugs, yet still trembling in gratitude towards Ao Xinghao and Qin Xin.

After all, they were spared.

If the fire hadn’t stopped, they would have truly burned to death.

Having survived, they watched the backs of Ao Xinghao and the others leaving, and despite their injuries, they found them towering and untouchable, never wanting to provoke them again.

Some people are truly not to be messed with.

Qin Xin finished applying medicine, treated Ao Xinghao and the others’ wounds, and prepared to leave the boys’ dormitory with a medical kit.

Jing Zhichen quickly caught up with her, quietly speaking in the corridor, "It was crowded earlier, so I couldn’t ask. Did you gain anything from visiting the Dean’s office?"

Qin Xin took a deep breath and shook her head, "No, nothing."

She still remembered the moment she opened that dossier, the feeling of joy.

But the next second, she plunged into despair.

The dossier had only a cover, and when opened, it was empty.

The Red Robe Tutor’s dossier had been taken ahead of her.

Time was tight then; she spent two more minutes searching the Dean’s office again, confirming that the Dean hadn’t taken out the document—it was truly taken before she closed the safe and left quickly with Little Dongju.

Just barely returning to the podium at ten minutes and ten seconds.

Upon hearing this, Jing Zhichen knit his brows deeply, "Who could have moved the dossier? Maybe I could find a chance to probe the Dean about it."

Qin Xin shook her head, "Don’t alert the enemy. Since his dossier is so valued, it must involve a very important mission. Rashly asking will attract suspicion."

She pressed her lips together, deciding to reveal part of the truth to Jing Zhichen, "This person has already been killed by me. If anyone investigates, I don’t want you implicated."

Jing Zhichen was shocked!

If he remembered correctly, she was looking for a Red Robe Tutor.

A Red Robe Tutor, even at the lowest level, has intermediate spiritual power, far stronger than freshmen like them.

Yet, she managed to kill such a formidable opponent.

Did she eliminate him alone?

Qin Xin raised an eyebrow and looked at him, "You can report me now and bring me to justice."

Jing Zhichen immediately clarified, "No, that’s not what I meant, Miss Lan. You’re not one to kill the innocent; he must have done something illegal to die at your hands. I’m just concerned whether his abilities caused you any hidden harm. Rest assured, I would never report a friend, regardless of the circumstances."

Qin Xin’s eyelashes fluttered slightly, "He wanted to drain all my blood."

Jing Zhichen’s shock intensified.

He opened his mouth but couldn’t find words.

Qin Xin continued, "So, one reason I’m investigating him is to find out what he did with my blood."

Jing Zhichen took a deep breath, "Do you have a picture of him? His behavior is too vile, I’ll help you look for him. I have intel channels outside the school, maybe I can find more information since many of these tutors work outside and aren’t confined to campus."

Qin Xin thought about it, having one more person search could aid the effort.

She sent the stored image from her phone to him.

Jing Zhichen curiously examined her "new phone", "What’s the model of this... I don’t think I’ve ever seen it."

Qin Xin, "Hmm. It’s a discontinued old phone."

Jing Zhichen, "..."
