Chapter 3918: Chapter 3918: Lu Zhi: I Told Her

She bit her lip, looking at the unyielding man in front of her, lips trembling as she said, "...Qiao already knows."

She thought that at the very least Lu Zhi would be shaken by this and would quickly heed her words and stop.

To her surprise, Lu Zhi merely lowered his head and chuckled lightly, those impeccably beautiful eyes betraying no emotion as he looked at her, "I know."

"?"

"I told her."

"!"

Jian Jin’s mind rang with a loud noise, and her brain went blank, nearly unable to believe her eyes and ears, unable to believe what she heard or what she saw.

Lu Zhi, is he truly insane?

At this moment, Lu Zhi slowly raised his hand to grip the muzzle of the gun, pulling the barrel toward his own head, eyes cold as he spoke to Jian Jin, "Shoot here."

"..." Jian Jin’s hand trembled violently at the moment he grabbed the muzzle, her thumb on the trigger frozen like a stone, not daring even to shake.

She was afraid of accidentally pulling the trigger and causing the gun to fire... This fear overpowered her anger toward Lu Zhi, reflexively pulling her hand back, "You, let go."

Lu Zhi held the handgun firmly, not letting her pull away, his deep teacolored eyes unblinking as he fixated on her, rose-colored lips parting to say, "You still have the chance to kill me now. Jian Jin, if you don’t act, then don’t stop me from doing what I need to do."

Jian Jin’s eyelids quivered as she looked up, her pupils filled with painful struggle, "Don’t push me."

Unfazed, Lu Zhi still held the barrel against his temple, saying softly, "I’m not pushing you; I’m merely giving you a choice."

Jian Jin bit her lip fiercely, "..."

Lu Zhi had the nerve to laugh, "I’ll count to three; you have three seconds to decide."

Jian Jin’s heart fluttered, her fingers gripping the gun so tightly the skin turned white, "You’re crazy?! Don’t push me!"

But Lu Zhi seemed determined to push her, lowering his gaze to start counting, "Three."

"Boss."

"Two."

"Don’t push me..."

Lu Zhi watched her quietly, "You have one second left to decide whether or not to pull the trigger."

Jian Jin’s pupils dilated violently, overwhelming pain and despair surged up, nearly drowning her.

"Ah!" She let out a painful cry, flinging her hand away, not giving the man sitting in the wheelchair a chance to further coerce her, stepping back three paces, standing there watching him.

"Lu Zhi, you’re insane."

This time she didn’t call him boss.

Jian Jin’s eyes were lined with bloodshot marks, her left hand holding the gun hung uncontrollably trembling, she looked at Lu Zhi as if he were a stranger.

"I don’t understand why you’ve become like this, but you still have time to stop. If you continue, you’ll only reach an irreparable point with Qiao..."

"If it’s not the kind of relationship I want, what does it matter if it’s irreparable?" Lu Zhi retorted.

Jian Jin only felt that he was beyond saving, her mouth opened, thousands of words stuck in her throat yet ultimately left unsaid.

Lu Zhi manipulated the wheelchair to turn around, stating, "I just gave you the chance to stop me, but since you’ve made a choice, don’t stop me anymore. You can’t stop me."

While he was speaking.

"Mr. Lu." The towering bodyguard beside Lu Zhi silently walked forward, perceptively moving behind him to wheel him away.

Jian Jin watched their backs, then looked at the desolate, wind-swept warning line that had been cordoned off by Lu Zhi and the reclusive family.

She took a deep breath, turned around, and headed towards her crashed and deformed sports car.

...

"Assistant Jian."

On the road, she encountered the robust man who had just spoken to her.
