Chapter 3958: Chapter 3958: Sister Nian Still Takes Good Care of People
"Okay." Ye Wangchuan tilted his head back against the chair, closed his weary eyes, and let his body relax.
Qiao Nian glanced through the right side rear-view mirror at the man’s defined jawline, then quietly turned on the car’s music system, playing a soothing piece of instrumental music.
Warm air gently flowed inside the car, accompanied by the soft, relaxing music that eased the nerves.
The tension that gripped Ye Wangchuan all night loosened a bit, and the crease on his forehead smoothed out unconsciously. His long eyelashes quivered slightly, but he didn’t open his eyes.
As Qiao Nian drove, she kept an eye on his condition and whispered softly, "Don’t worry, I’m right here beside you."
Ye Wangchuan’s heart skipped a beat; no one had ever comforted him like that before, but he couldn’t help the genuine trust he felt towards the girl beside him.
He actually allowed himself to slip into a half-conscious state with injuries in such a confined space and with someone else around...

Hospital.
Qiao Nian parked the car and turned her head, noticing the sleeping face of the man who seemed entirely unaware.
She unbuckled her seatbelt but didn’t rush to get out or call anyone. Instead, she found her phone and made a call: "I have a patient with me, can you send two people down?"
She deliberately lowered her voice as she spoke.
She didn’t speak loudly.
But with Ye Wangchuan’s usual alertness, it was impossible for him to miss it.
Qiao Nian set down her phone and glanced sideways, seeing the sleeping man slightly furrow his brow, his right shoulder shrinking back uncomfortably.
She pressed her lips together, a hint of curiosity flashing in her dark eyes, and called out, "Ye Wangchuan."
The man in the passenger seat didn’t react; only his eyelashes fluttered slightly, and his lips were dry and pale.
Qiao Nian immediately realized something was off with him. She reached out to touch his forehead, feeling his skin burning hot against her palm.
He had a fever.
Qiao Nian withdrew her hand, pursed her lips tighter, and decisively opened the car door to call for help.
Fortunately, someone in the hospital hurried out just then, a young male doctor followed by several others in white coats.
He greeted her right away: "Q. Where’s the patient you mentioned?"
"In the car."
Qiao Nian stepped aside to let them see.
The young man followed her gaze to the person inside the car, then looked back, evidently familiar with Qiao Nian: "What happened to him?"
This person was Zhong Yiliu’s disciple.
He had spent a long time at the Pharmacy Association but left later due to differences in research philosophies that didn’t align with the association’s rules.
He chose to leave and work independently, turning his back on the Pharmacy Association.
Many members of the Pharmacy Association didn’t know Yu Yan’s name, but Qiao Nian knew him and got along well with him.
Qiao Nian was also one of the few who knew that Zhong Yiliu and his former top disciple had not severed ties.
Most people who knew Yu Yan’s name thought he rebelled against and left the Pharmacy Association, assuming Zhong Yiliu, as his mentor, would be terribly disappointed in him.
However, Qiao Nian knew that Zhong Yiliu was a madman for pharmacology, and in this aspect, Yu Yan shared about eighty percent of his traits. As the association president, Zhong Yiliu was inevitably bound by regulations, but someone needed to set an example in the field. Being pushed to prominence, he had no choice but to compromise a bit.
Yu Yan left the Pharmacy Association for a gene medicine. Though publicly Zhong Yiliu seemed heartbroken over losing such a pride-worthy top disciple, in private, Qiao Nian had dined with them and knew that not only was Zhong Yiliu not angry, but he also strongly supported Yu Yan’s actions.
