Devara’s eyes moved slowly from Alakshmi to his mother.
Lakshmi was still looking at her elder sister, but there was something deeply complicated in that gaze. It was not hatred, nor was it fear.
There was affection buried beneath old wounds, concern beneath years of distance, and perhaps a little guilt that Devara could not fully understand.
She wanted Alakshmi to remain, yet at the same time she knew the divine influence surrounding her sister could eventually affect the kingdom and its people.
Devara remained silent for a few moments.
Then he remembered the reward he had just received.
Find & Copy.
His newly acquired trait was capable of searching for an object or thing he needed.
If the system could truly locate an artifact capable of reproducing another object’s properties, perhaps there was something in existence that could help Alakshmi control or restrain the influence that followed her wherever she went.
He glanced at his aunt again.
Alakshmi was standing alone, surrounded by people who were afraid of what her presence might bring.
Devara did not like that.
’If her very existence has become a burden because of this divine influence, then there has to be a way to separate her from it.’
His eyes narrowed with determination.
’Let’s see what this ability can really do.’
Devara silently activated the trait.
[Find & Copy activated.]
[Searching for an artifact capable of restraining or regulating the divine influence associated with Goddess Alakshmi...]
The world around him seemed to fade.
The voices of the gods disappeared.
The arena vanished.
For a moment, Devara found himself standing in an endless darkness.
Then an image appeared.
It was another world.
At first glance, it looked remarkably similar to Earth.
The same blue sky, the same distant horizon and the same great sun hanging overhead, yet Devara immediately understood that it was not his world.
It was a parallel world.
The vision shifted.
A vast desert stretched beneath a scorching sun, golden sand extending toward the horizon. Massive ancient structures rose from the desert, their silhouettes cutting into the blazing sky.
Egypt.
But not the Egypt of his world.
Something about the place felt different.
Devara’s attention was suddenly drawn toward a woman standing among the burning sands.
She was breathtaking.
Her beauty was almost otherworldly, yet what truly caught Devara’s attention was the divine radiance surrounding her.
She stood beneath the merciless Egyptian sun as though its heat meant nothing to her, her presence carrying an unmistakable celestial quality.
Around her wrist was a bracelet.
Devara’s entire attention immediately locked onto it.
The bracelet was unlike anything he had seen before.
It looked ancient, yet impossibly refined, with intricate patterns running along its surface.
A faint energy moved through it, almost like a living current of divine power.
Devara instinctively understood.
’That’s it.’
The vision suddenly ended.
He found himself standing in the wedding arena once again.
The voices returned.
The gods were still speaking.
The citizens were still watching.
Alakshmi was still standing near the edge of the arena.
But Devara barely heard any of them.
His mind was racing.
The system had not shown him a random artifact.
He had specifically asked it to find something capable of restraining or regulating Alakshmi’s influence, and it had shown him that bracelet.
Devara looked toward his aunt.
Then toward Lakshmi.
A thought slowly formed in his mind.
’She isn’t the problem.’
His gaze returned to Alakshmi.
’The curse or divine burden attached to her is.’
Perhaps the bracelet was capable of separating Alakshmi herself from the influence that constantly followed her.
Perhaps it could restrain the aura of misfortune.
Perhaps it could allow her to exist in a place without automatically weakening Lakshmi’s influence.
Whatever the exact mechanism was, the system had shown him the artifact for a reason.
And now Devara understood what he needed to do.
Find the bracelet.
Touch it.
Copy it.
Then create another one for Alakshmi.
His newly acquired ability suddenly seemed far more valuable than he had initially realized.
Devara looked toward the distant sky for a moment, his mind still holding the image of that parallel world and the divine woman wearing the mysterious bracelet.
He had no idea who she was.
He did not know what world she belonged to.
He did not know how he would reach that place.
But he knew one thing.
He had found a possible answer.
And if that bracelet could truly restrain the influence that had followed Alakshmi throughout her existence, then perhaps his aunt would finally be able to stand beside her family without everyone around her waiting for something terrible to happen.
Devara’s expression hardened with determination.
’I just need to get that bracelet.’
And once he had it, he would use Find & Copy to reproduce it.
Not once. Not twice.
As many times as necessary.
Because if the artifact could free Alakshmi from the cruel fate that had followed her for so long, Devara was willing to cross worlds to obtain it.
Devara finally broke the silence.
He turned toward Alakshmi, who was still standing beneath the gaze of the gathered gods and citizens, and then raised his voice so that everyone in the arena could hear him clearly.
"Everyone, listen."
The murmuring immediately stopped.
Devara looked directly at Alakshmi.
"I have found a way."
Alakshmi’s eyes widened slightly.
Devara continued, his voice carrying across the entire arena.
"A way that may allow you to restrain the influence your divinity has on the surroundings and give you greater control over how that influence affects the world around you."
The reaction was immediate.
Alakshmi stared at him in disbelief.
Lakshmi’s eyes widened.
Vishnu turned sharply toward his son.
Shiva’s expression changed.
Brahma and Saraswati exchanged a surprised glance.
Even the other gods who had been discussing the effects of Alakshmi’s presence moments earlier looked toward Devara with astonishment.
They had all understood the problem.
But none of them had spoken of a solution.
Devara had just claimed that he had found one.
Shiva stepped slightly forward.
"What have you found?"
Devara looked toward him.
"An artifact."
The arena became completely silent again.
Devara continued.
"It is called the Forty-Two Stars Bracelet."
The name itself seemed unfamiliar to almost everyone present.
Brahma’s brows furrowed.
Saraswati looked thoughtful.
Vishnu’s eyes narrowed as he tried to recall whether he had ever encountered such an artifact.
Lakshmi stared at her son.
"Devara, where did you learn of this?"
Devara hesitated for only a moment.
"I found it through an ability I recently developed."
He did not explain every detail of the system, but his family already knew enough about his unusual abilities that such an answer did not completely surprise them.
"The artifact exists,"
Devara continued.
"But not in our world."
Alakshmi’s expression changed again.
"Not in this world?"
Devara nodded.
"I saw it in another world. A parallel world that resembles Earth, but it appears to be a world where the Egyptian pantheon rules."
A collective murmur passed through the arena.
The gods exchanged looks.
"Another world..."
"A parallel Earth?"
"Egyptian gods?"
"How is that possible?"
Devara raised his hand, silencing the growing whispers.
"I don’t know everything about that world yet. I only know what I was shown. I saw a woman possessing divine energy, standing in what appeared to be the Egyptian lands, and she was wearing the bracelet."
He looked toward Alakshmi.
"That bracelet is the artifact I need."
Alakshmi stared at him.
"And you believe it can help me?"
"I believe it can."
Devara’s answer was honest.
"I haven’t touched it yet, so I cannot guarantee exactly what it will do. But the ability I used specifically searched for something capable of restraining or regulating the influence associated with your divinity. That bracelet was what I was shown."
Vishnu’s expression became thoughtful.
"Then you intend to travel there."
Devara nodded.
"Yes father I wanted to help aunt."
The realization spread through the gathering.
He was not simply talking about obtaining some artifact from another kingdom.
He was talking about leaving his world.
Crossing into a parallel reality.
Entering an entirely different divine system.
And finding an artifact belonging to a civilization ruled by gods none of them had ever encountered.
Devara looked toward Alakshmi.
"I will bring it to you."
Her lips parted slightly.
For perhaps the first time since arriving at the wedding, she seemed completely speechless.
Devara then raised one hand before anyone could object.
"But I need time."
He looked toward Vishnu, Shiva and Brahma.
"I need to prepare before I attempt something like this. I don’t know what kind of beings exist in that world, how powerful their gods are, what rules govern that realm, or what dangers I might encounter while trying to reach the bracelet."
His expression became serious.
"I also don’t know how difficult it will be to return."
The Trimurtis exchanged another glance.
They understood the magnitude of what Devara was proposing.
He was not merely travelling to another kingdom.
He was preparing to cross the boundaries between worlds.
Devara looked back toward Alakshmi.
"So I am asking you to give me some time. I will prepare properly, find a way to reach that world, locate the Forty-Two Stars Bracelet, and bring it back."
Alakshmi continued staring at him.
"You would really do that?"
Devara smiled faintly.
"You are my aunt."
He glanced toward Lakshmi.
"And you are my mother’s elder sister. If there is a way to help you control something that has caused you pain for so long, then I will at least try."
Lakshmi’s eyes became moist.
Vishnu remained silent for several seconds before a faint smile appeared on his face.
Shiva looked at Devara with quiet interest as his son’s ability which was powerful enough to trak the other realms belongs to other Gods has their dominance, while Brahma seemed already lost in thought, considering the implications of a parallel world populated by another pantheon.
Around them, the guests were still struggling to process what they had just heard.
A parallel Earth.
Egyptian gods.
A mysterious artifact called the Forty-Two Stars Bracelet.
And Devara intending to cross into that unknown world to retrieve it.
What had begun as a wedding celebration had somehow transformed into the beginning of yet another journey.
Alakshmi lowered her gaze for a moment.
Then she looked at her nephew again.
"Very well."
Her voice was quieter now.
"I will wait."
Devara nodded.
"Then it is settled."
And somewhere deep within Devara’s mind, the image of that mysterious bracelet remained vivid.
Forty-two stars.
A parallel world.
An Egyptian pantheon.
And an artifact that might finally allow Alakshmi to control the very force that had made others fear her presence.
His next journey had already begun forming in his mind.
