As soon as Matthias stepped out of the car, I froze. The air inside the cabin instantly turned into a wall of solid, invisible glass, clamping down around me like a vise and robbing me of the ability to take even the shallowest breath.

The silence between us stretched, growing agonizingly heavy and suffocating. When I finally forced myself past the paralyzing fear and turned my head toward him, our eyes locked—clashing like steel blades in a ruthless, bloody battle.

He stared at me without blinking, his gaze refusing to yield even a fraction of an inch. It felt as though he were devouring me with those dark, almost pitch-black eyes—an abyss stripped of all human restraint, penetrating beneath my clothes, leaving no chance for escape, and consuming me whole.

Feeling that destructive, frightening force—the undeniable lure of a predator—a strange, jarring current coursed through my body. Sharp, fierce, and almost alive, it pierced straight through my muscles, knotting my stomach tight.

Time ground to a halt, shattering into fragments. I barely registered what was happening around us, completely dragged into the perilous vortex of absolute darkness in the depths of his eyes. They were like quicksand, swallowing me slowly and unnoticed, yet gripping my mind so fiercely that I couldn’t utter a sound. Hoping for mercy from a man like him was foolish. But the moment his scorching lips abruptly collided with mine, my entire world tore apart—literally ripped to shreds.

Searing me from the inside with a wild, primal fire, that kiss stripped away the last remaining threads of my sanity. It was like pressing bare skin against surging lava—burning me to my core, yet bringing a strange, savage sense of relief.

Only a brief second passed before I mustered what was left of my strength to stop Damian. I planted my palms against his broad chest, trying desperately to push him away.

Instead, his tongue breached my lips with ruthless precision, shattering my meager defenses and demanding absolute surrender.

The world tilted wildly, spinning on its axis until I lost all sense of direction. Before I could even process what was happening, I found myself pulled into his lap, straddling his broad thighs—face-to-face with the beast inside him.

He wrapped one massive arm around my waist, while his other hand tangled roughly into the hair at the nape of my neck. Digging his fingers into my scalp with pain-sharp intensity, Damian locked me in place, completely eliminating any possibility of pulling away.

And then, he kissed me.

Greedily, fiercely, with a kind of wild, starved cruelty, he devoured my oxygen, sucking the very soul out of my chest with his sinfully hot lips. Beneath his crushing assault, I completely lost myself, dissolving entirely in time and space—forgetting everything in existence.

His ravenous kisses and scorching touches slid across my body like unseen sparks of wildfire, turning me into pliable, soft clay in the hands of a ruthless, master sculptor.

What was I even doing? Why did my own body surrender so easily to his onslaught, betraying me with every erratic beat of my heart? Perhaps because I never had a choice to begin with—or rather, Damian simply hadn’t left me even the illusion of one.

The arm wrapped around my waist tightened until my spine gave a faint, quiet pop under his raw, inhuman pressure. In the same breath, abruptly breaking the kiss, Damian yanked me back by my hair. Mercilessly. Brutally. Forcing my head back to its limit, completely exposing my delicate, utterly defenseless neck to his wicked, ravenous mouth.

Shallow, ragged breaths whistled past my raw, swollen lips. But the cool air in the car was so heavily saturated with his thick, intoxicating alpha scent that my thoughts tangled completely, turning into a dense, suffocating fog.

His kisses and sharp nips along my neck grew hotter and more unbearable, guaranteed to leave deep, crimson marks behind.

Gripping the bulging muscles of his broad shoulders until it hurt, I tried to anchor myself—to keep from falling into this endless abyss. Yet I couldn’t hold back a soft, shuddering moan the moment his wet tongue slowly trailed over the sensitive skin just behind my ear.

His breath quivered against my burning skin like a terrifying ripple. Sending a dark, barely contained tremor through my entire being, that touch made every single cell in my body tremble in anticipation of something frightening—something sinful, forbidden, and primal that I had never known existed.

"Sweet..." Damian growled huskily, tearing away from my bitten neck for a fraction of a second.

In the very next instant, he sank his teeth into my skin again, this time scraping against me with the sharp edge of his fangs. A jolt shot through me from the inside out as his hips thrust sharply and powerfully upward.

Something massive, hard, and searing pressed fiercely between my legs through the thick denim of my jeans. Rigid. Burning hot.

Gasping in surprise at his approving, deep, wolfish rumble, I instinctively arched my body forward, pressing my stomach even closer to his hard torso.

The heat inside the car was melting the last remnants of my sanity so fast, it felt as though we were standing deep within the crater of a volcano, ready to erupt at any moment and annihilate everything around us.

Deep down, a single, desperate thought tore and thudded within my mind, screaming that all of this was wrong, dirty, and completely forbidden.

We shouldn’t be doing this. I shouldn’t be straddling his lap, shouldn’t be allowing him to claim and touch me, and certainly shouldn’t be whimpering and melting in his arms, exposing my utter helplessness to his dominance.

Yet reason was losing this battle, dissolving completely into his overwhelming aura.

"I want you so fucking badly, little bird," Damian growled, breathing heavily against my neck.

In a single heartbeat, both of his hands dropped lower, resting on my hips and squeezing hard enough to bruise. Gripping my body firmly and powerfully, he lifted me slightly, forcing me to feel the full intent of his desire.

"I can feel how sweetly wet you are," his raspy whisper battered against my ears, shattering the last remnants of my haze.
