Marrying a Heavenly Snake, I Get Stronger Every Day
Chapter 51: The Truth about Their Hostility
Chapter 51: Chapter 51: The Truth about Their Hostility
Ye Xuan listened to Qingyu’s words.
With all his strength, he forced himself to stand upright under the overwhelming pressure exerted by the mysterious figure before him.
The figure continued walking toward them, dragging the scythe in his hand.
His face showed no sign of being affected by the black aura radiating from his body.
The young man had no idea who he was or how powerful he might be.
However, since even the elders were suffering under the same pressure, it was clear that this figure was stronger than all of them.
Once Ye Xuan managed to stand firmly, he shifted one hand to the side and summoned the teleportation token.
He allowed the token to hover above his head, causing a blue teleportation formation to appear beneath his feet.
"A teleportation... token?"
"So you deliberately lured us here?!" one of the elders demanded.
Ye Xuan didn’t respond.
He merely glanced in the elder’s direction before raising his hand to chest level and activating the teleportation token with his spiritual qi.
Blue light shone from the formation runes.
In an instant, Ye Xuan was transported from Northern Ridge to the Golden Pagoda beneath the lake.
The elders witnessed everything clearly. Ye Xuan had already escaped using his teleportation token.
Now, only they remained to face the cultivator shrouded in black aura.
Ye Xuan opened his eyes and saw that he had successfully arrived at the Golden Pagoda.
The effects of the cultivation pressure were still lingering, although they were no longer as intense as before.
Most importantly, he had escaped Northern Ridge and survived what could have been a deadly encounter.
He formed a hand seal and immediately destroyed the teleportation token by detonating the accumulated spiritual qi stored inside it.
An explosion erupted in Northern Ridge, severing the teleportation connection and destroying the formation within the token.
The elders were startled. They had now completely lost track of Ye Xuan.
In the courtyard before the Golden Pagoda, the teleportation formation beneath Ye Xuan suddenly vanished, a simple sign that his plan had succeeded.
"I might have managed to trap them there, but I couldn’t help you obtain any new abilities, Qingyu."
[I don’t mind, Ye Xuan. As long as we’re both safe, we can do that another time.]
"It seems you’ve been up to something interesting, Brother Ye," a voice came from inside the pagoda.
Ye Xuan recognized Wang Shuyuan’s voice. He walked forward and cupped his hands in greeting.
He apologized to Senior Wang for what had happened, especially for destroying the teleportation token.
"I don’t particularly mind that. However, I’m impressed that you used the teleportation token to make an emergency escape."
"Don’t worry, Brother Ye. The Golden Pagoda is a safe place for you."
"This junior is grateful for Senior Wang’s kindness," Ye Xuan replied softly.
He also explained that Qingyu needed to cultivate and that he intended to let her use the courtyard before the Golden Pagoda.
Senior Wang had no objections. In fact, he offered to let Qingyu cultivate inside the pagoda, since it produced an abundant amount of qi energy.
The qi energy within the Golden Pagoda would be more than enough to help Qingyu recover and break through to the Profound-Beast stage.
Hearing this, Qingyu naturally had no reason to refuse. She informed Ye Xuan, who immediately asked Senior Wang for permission.
"Come inside, both of you."
Ye Xuan walked in and allowed Qingyu to cultivate on the first floor of the Golden Pagoda.
Meanwhile, he climbed the stairs to the seventh floor, where Senior Wang was cultivating.
As soon as he arrived, Senior Wang extended his hand and invited Ye Xuan to sit and cultivate before him.
The Silver Lightning Armor Transformation was beginning to fade, something Wang Shuyuan noticed immediately.
"Not many cultivators possess the power of lightning, let alone know how to control it," Wang Shuyuan remarked. "It is said that those who wield lightning can easily withstand heavenly tribulations."
"Thanks to Qingyu, I managed to obtain the power of lightning."
"She naturally possesses a lightning elemental affinity. It makes sense that you would acquire it as well."
"What happened, Brother Ye?"
Ye Xuan opened his eyes and temporarily paused his cultivation.
He remained silent as he looked at Senior Wang before beginning to explain everything, including his conflict with the Dao Sword Sect.
Senior Wang listened to Ye Xuan’s entire account. His first reaction was one of astonishment.
He was clearly shocked by what Ye Xuan had done. It was nothing short of madness.
A Foundation Establishment cultivator had dared to oppose a sect that had existed on Shattered Cloud Star for 20,000 years.
Looking at Ye Xuan, Wang Shuyuan was reminded of his younger self.
Although his opponent back then had been different, it had been the Zen Sect.
"There’s no denying that there are probably far more Taoist sects nowadays than Zen temples or holy sects. If that’s indeed the case, you’ve already made enemies of most of the sects."
"The Dao Sword Sect holds an extremely high position as the leader of the righteous Taoist factions. Almost every sect follows its orders."
"If they’ve truly ordered your capture, then your actions have made you a threat to them," Wang Shuyuan explained.
"So, what exactly did you do? Did you kill one of their core disciples? Or perhaps one of their elders?"
Ye Xuan tapped his bag of holding and summoned the crimson-red Crimson Python Blood Sword before him. He let it float forward, and Wang Shuyuan caught it.
His eyes carefully examined the crimson sword. There was something unusual about it, something strangely familiar to his memories.
After a moment, he returned the sword to Ye Xuan.
"I feel as though I’ve seen this sword before," Wang Shuyuan remarked.
"This is a sword artifact left behind by the Thunder Crimson Python Clan."
"Now I understand why they’re hunting you. The seal restraining part of Qingyu’s power bears the distinctive characteristics of a Taoist sealing technique."
"At first, I didn’t want to assume that she was a descendant of the Thunder Crimson Python Clan. But it seems that is indeed the case."
"The Dao Sword Sect and the Thunder Crimson Python Clan have a complicated history of hostility. Both sides have won and lost battles against each other."
Ye Xuan grew even more curious after hearing Wang Shuyuan’s explanation.
He immediately asked about the root of their long-standing conflict.
Was it related to the struggle for control over their respective sects and clans on Shattered Cloud Star? Or was there something else behind it?
"That is certainly one reason," Wang Shuyuan explained. "But what they desire isn’t control over territory or an entire star. They want their clan’s ancestral technique."
"Technique?"
"Yes," Wang Shuyuan replied. "They want the Origin Devouring Scripture."
"With this ability, a person can enhance their devouring, absorption, and refinement abilities, eventually creating a domain of their own power. I even once read records claiming that the scripture could control and erase things based on their origins."
"However, to even open the Primordial Python Temple, they need all the fragments belonging to the three Great Python Clans."
"And the Thunder Crimson Python Clan is part of the Seven-Colored Lightning Python lineage, one of the three Great Python Clans."
"That is why the Dao Sword Sect has begun targeting them. It isn’t merely a matter of territory. Their sect’s ancestors desire the scripture."
Ye Xuan fell silent for a moment. Senior Wang had told him many things he had never known.
However, the conflict between the Dao Sword Sect and the Thunder Crimson Python Clan ran far deeper than what Ling Yuxia had once told him.
"Then how many fragments has the Dao Sword Sect collected so far?" Ye Xuan asked.
"If I remember correctly, they’ve obtained two of the twelve ancestral fragments of the Seven-Colored Lightning Python lineage. I don’t know how many they have now."
Qingyu managed to obtain one. That means there are nine fragments left.
It seems I can’t ignore this matter. If they obtain the scripture, it won’t be difficult for them to slaughter the other spiritual beast clans on Shattered Cloud Star.
I have to stop them, even if it means sacrificing my life!
