Chapter 55: A Battle Against a Profound-Beast

Chapter 55: Chapter 55: A Battle Against a Profound-Beast

Ye Xuan carefully examined the man. The injured members of the eagle tribe began flying away, leaving behind the corpses of their fallen companions.

Now, only Ye Xuan and Qingyu remained to face the man named Ying, whom the eagle tribe members had addressed as their elder.

"I suggest you leave this battle. You have no connection whatsoever to the Blazing Fire Serpent Clan!"

"Clan Leader Yan Jin is my friend. I can’t just stand by and watch my friend’s clan get destroyed by you!" Ye Xuan declared.

Elder Ying chuckled softly and flew toward Ye Xuan, using his two wings to propel himself forward.

"With your strength, what exactly do you think you can do against me?"

His attention shifted from Ye Xuan to the white serpent beside him.

Ye Xuan’s eyes narrowed as he faintly sensed something strange about the serpent’s qi aura, as though her spiritual qi were being restrained by something.

He had lived for hundreds of years and had never encountered a white serpent like her.

Yet, when he met Qingyu’s gaze, he felt a slight sense of intimidation.

It was as if his instincts were telling him that the white serpent beside Ye Xuan was no ordinary creature.

"Who are you? You don’t seem to be a member of the Blazing Fire Serpent Clan," Elder Ying asked.

Qingyu didn’t answer. Instead, she immediately attacked Elder Ying, unleashing crimson lightning from her mouth.

The man flinched and hurriedly thrust out his hand, summoning a defensive barrier of eagle feathers to withstand the strange lightning.

"A serpent wielding crimson lightning. There’s only one serpent clan with lightning as its dominant element, and that clan should have gone extinct!"

"Or perhaps you’re the last descendant of that clan?" Elder Ying asked.

The white serpent grew even more aggressive, attacking Elder Ying with all her strength.

The man was beginning to struggle, realizing that his defense wasn’t strong enough to withstand Qingyu’s lightning.

He formed a hand seal with one hand, summoning a tornado in front of him to replace the eagle-feather barrier and block Qingyu’s crimson lightning.

The two attacks were evenly matched!

The crimson lightning and tornado exploded, sending Qingyu flying backward as she spat out blood. Elder Ying suffered the same fate.

"That’s right! I was correct," he said. "You’re a descendant of the Thunder Crimson Python Clan, aren’t you?"

Ye Xuan watched Qingyu’s expression, filled with bitterness and anger.

However, he also realized that her transformation this time would cause the seal within her body to strengthen.

"HAHAHA!"

"You’re the one those human sects have been searching for. What an unexpected coincidence!" Elder Ying declared.

"I’ll defeat you both and capture you, then hand you over to the human sects. That way, we’ll gain additional strength to destroy the Blazing Fire Serpent Clan!" he threatened.

"How dare you!" Ye Xuan shouted.

He activated one of his techniques, moving through ten different positions and unleashing a slashing attack with each movement toward Elder Ying.

"Ten Fire Sword Dance!"

Ye Xuan unleashed three fiery sword slashes forward. Elder Ying immediately turned toward them and reacted swiftly.

He formed a hand seal with both hands, activating a defensive technique that summoned a massive tornado around him.

The three fiery slashes struck the tornado barrier, colliding with it and producing powerful waves of qi.

Ye Xuan didn’t stop there. He moved again, unleashing six more attacks.

In total, ten fiery sword slashes collided with the tornado’s defensive power.

Elder Ying was quite surprised by the increase in Ye Xuan’s strength.

"Impressive!"

"You’re a promising human. I’m impressed by your strength!" Elder Ying declared. "But that’s still not enough to defeat me!"

Elder Ying clenched his fist and detonated the massive tornado, shattering the fiery sword slashes, uprooting trees, and sending Ye Xuan and Qingyu flying backward.

Their bodies crashed to the ground and slammed into tree trunks.

The heavy impact injured Qingyu, forcing her to end her transformation. A system panel appeared in front of Ye Xuan.

[Warning! The seal has increased.]

[Seal remaining: 78%]

Your seal percentage has increased, Qingyu.

Rest for now. Let me handle him!

Qingyu didn’t respond, but she didn’t resist either when Ye Xuan picked her up and allowed her to coil her tail around his neck.

The young man stood tall, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth as he looked toward Elder Ying.

Although the explosion had been powerful, Elder Ying didn’t appear to have suffered any significant damage.

The strength of someone equivalent to the Golden Core realm was truly astonishing.

"I’ll give you two choices: hand her over and walk away alive, or fight me to the death!"

Ye Xuan smiled faintly and gripped his lightning sword tightly, "I’ll take a third option: kill you and absorb your abilities for Qingyu!"

"Ninefold Lightning Scripture!"

"Silver Lightning Armor Transformation!"

Dark rumbling clouds gathered in the sky above Scarlet Moon Forest, despite it being daytime.

Elder Ying also looked up, witnessing the strange phenomenon. Silver lightning, unlike anything he had ever seen before, appeared and struck wildly across the sky.

In an instant, a pillar of silver lightning descended from the heavens and struck Ye Xuan’s body with tremendous force.

Elder Ying watched the scene, but the sight only deepened his suspicions.

Ye Xuan transformed his lightning qi into armor, increasing his strength and speed while temporarily raising his cultivation base.

Thanks to this ability, Ye Xuan’s cultivation base had now reached the Golden Core realm, almost matching Elder Ying’s strength.

"Temporarily raising your cultivation base? Interesting!"

Ye Xuan swung his arm and completed his transformation. His eyes sharpened as he looked toward Elder Ying, locking onto his target.

"Forcefully raising your cultivation base won’t change anything. You’ll still lose to—"

WHOOSH!

Elder Ying’s words abruptly stopped. His eyes widened in shock as he saw silver lightning appear right in front of his face.

That wasn’t ordinary lightning. It was Ye Xuan, moving at lightning speed!

Ye Xuan swung his sword downward. Elder Ying quickly leaped aside to evade the attack, though his hand was still injured in the process.

Elder Ying remained shocked. He hadn’t expected Ye Xuan to move faster than his eyes could follow or his instincts could predict.

Realizing the extent of Ye Xuan’s increased strength, Elder Ying understood that underestimating him now could prove fatal.

"You’re fast, but you have one weakness!"

"That ability has a time limit. All I have to do is wait until your qi runs out!"

"When that happens, I’ll be the one to kill you!" Elder Ying snapped.

Ye Xuan didn’t respond. Instead, he charged forward with a martial arts attack.

He put away his lightning sword and moved in a flash of silver lightning, searching for an opening in Elder Ying’s defense.

Elder Ying remained fully alert, constantly trying to keep track of Ye Xuan’s movements.

He formed a hand seal with both hands, summoning dozens of wind swords behind his back.

He thrust his hands forward, following Ye Xuan’s movements while unleashing a rain of wind swords toward him.

Ye Xuan saw the incoming attack and seized the opportunity to form a hand seal, activating another one of his techniques.

A red rune appeared in front of Ye Xuan. He then pointed one finger forward, unleashing a fiery finger attack aimed at Elder Ying.

"Mystic Flame Finger!"

Elder Ying saw the attack and concentrated his rain of wind swords to destroy Ye Xuan’s fiery finger technique.

The two attacks collided and exploded, spreading thick clouds of smoke that obscured Elder Ying’s vision.

Elder Ying’s eyes widened when his qi aura sensed Ye Xuan’s presence behind him. His face filled with shock as he hurriedly turned around.

"Y-You...?"

Ye Xuan swung his lightning sword forward, "Die!"
