Marrying the Queen Mystic in LOTM
Chapter 132 Amon Also Has a Brother
Behind the gray fog, Klein was slightly startled by The Hermit’s words, thinking: ‘What kind of channels does Mr. Hermit actually possess that allow him to learn so much high-level intelligence?’
Alger also sighed internally with emotion: ‘That was information regarding Ancient Gods, the Beyonder history of the Second Epoch!’
As for Audrey, upon hearing The Hermit’s question, she immediately said, “Very well, we can initiate another transaction when the time comes.”
Odis nodded, signaling that there was no problem.
Audrey then asked “Mr. Hanged Man, I’ve seen the title ‘Pirate Admiral’ in the newspapers. Could you tell us about those Pirate Admirals?”
The newspapers only occasionally reported on maritime affairs. Audrey only knew of the existence of the Pirate Admirals, but did not know who they actually were.
“No problem,” Alger said, “Originally, there were seven Pirate Admirals. Vice Admiral Hurricane Qilangos, whom we discussed earlier, was one of them.”
Hearing this, Audrey smiled faintly. From beginning to end, she believed that Qilangos had been killed by one of Mr. Fool’s blessed, and that she had contributed to that outcome as well.
Fors had read the reports about Qilangos, but did not know the true cause of this Vice Admiral Hurricane’s death. Hearing The Hanged Man mention it so casually, she did not pay it too much mind.
Alger continued, “In addition, there are the Admiral of Stars Cattleya and Vice Admiral Iceberg Edwina. These are two female Pirate Admirals. Relatively speaking, they are quite restrained and have not committed any heinous atrocities. In contrast, the Admiral of Blood Senor and the Admiral of Hell Ludwell are either cruel and bloodthirsty, or commit every conceivable evil. They are universally recognized as the two most ferocious Pirate Admirals upon the seas…”
“…Vice Admiral Deep Sea Howl Constantine mostly operates in the Fog Sea, while Vice Admiral Dusk Bulatov Ivan mostly operates in the Sonia Sea. One rarely comes into contact with their pirate crews. Counting the already deceased Vice Admiral Hurricane, those are the seven Pirate Admirals.”
He paused, then added, “Not long ago, Ailment Maiden Tracy absorbed Qilangos’s fleet. I believe that in the near future, she will become a Pirate Admiral as well.”
Fors sighed with emotion: ‘I never expected there to be women among the Pirate Admirals. This was the most comprehensive introduction to the Pirate Admirals I’ve ever heard…’
Audrey smiled and said, “News of the sea is always so fascinating.” Then, she looked toward the bottom of the long bronze table at the taciturn Mr. World and said, “Mr. World, please share some mysticism knowledge.”
Klein manipulated The World to ask, “What aspect would you like to hear about?”
“Anything is fine,” Audrey said, “as long as it’s something I don’t know.”
Klein pondered for a moment before having The World speak: “I’ve heard that Amon has an older brother named Adam. Adam is a High-Sequence Beyonder of the Spectator Pathway, possessing abilities just as bizarre and terrifying as Amon’s! It is said that they are both descendants of the Ancient Sun God and were both high-ranking nobles of the Tudor family in the Fourth Epoch.”
This instantly reminded everyone that when The Hermit had previously revealed the Tudor family’s five major nobles, Adam and Amon had indeed been among them.
They hadn’t expected them to be brothers!
Alger marveled internally: ‘This is exceptionally high-level intelligence!’
At the same time, he realized that this current mode of transaction was a win-win approach. Miss Justice had not only completed her transaction with The Hermit to obtain the information she wanted, but she had also obtained other intelligence she was interested in from the rest of the members through this method.
The other members had likewise reaped a great deal of knowledge and intelligence from this exchange.
Derrick then asked, “Mr. World, is Amon’s brother in the Forsaken Land of the Gods as well?”
The World shook his head, “I don’t know.”
Derrick nodded with some disappointment.
Then, Fors turned to Miss Justice and said, “After this gathering ends, I will sacrifice the first chapter of Sights in the Spirit World to Mr. Fool. However, you must be careful when reading it. The moment you feel slightly dizzy, develop a headache, or experience severe emotional fluctuations, immediately use Cogitation to stabilize your state, and only continue reading once you’ve fully recovered.”
Audrey nodded, “I understand.”
She took a deep breath, feeling that this transaction had gone splendidly. She had spent only 1,000 pounds, yet she had obtained so much useful information and intelligence.
After a few seconds of silence in the great palace, Alger said to The World, “I’ve made contact with someone selling Deep-sea Naga hair. Five strands for 500 pounds. Do you want them?”
Klein manipulated The World to ask, “Is five strands the minimum for a single transaction?”
He only needed three strands, and he couldn’t help sighing to himself: ‘Supplementary materials at the Sequence 6 level are quite expensive as well…’
“As far as I know, he only has five strands left, which is why he’s selling them together,” Alger said with a smile.
The World nodded and said, “Alright, I’ll take them all.”
In Backlund, or rather anywhere on land, it was exceedingly difficult to purchase a Deep-sea Naga’s hair.
With that, the transaction segment of this Tarot Club gathering came to an end, and everyone began chatting about their interesting experiences over the past week, entering the free exchange segment.
Alger first described how, under the influence of the Loen Kingdom’s ironclad warships, pirates at sea were growing increasingly rampant.
Then, he added, “When I went ashore this time, I also inadvertently saw a case report from Backlund. Over the past week, members of the Rose School of Thought actually plotted to snatch a Sealed Artifact belonging to official Beyonders, only to be defeated by a joint effort of the Nighthawks and the Machinery Hivemind. To everyone in Backlund, have you noticed anything unusual happening?”
Klein thought to himself: ‘Those Lunatics from the Rose School of Thought truly are capable of anything.’
Neither Audrey nor Fors had received any relevant intelligence.
After their victory, the Nighthawks and the Machinery Hivemind had only notified the Mandated Punishers as a matter of routine. Such a clash would naturally never be made public.
Fors remarked, “It’s hard to imagine that anyone would actually dare snatch a Sealed Artifact from official Beyonders.”
“Perhaps that Sealed Artifact was something they desperately needed,” Audrey chimed in on the topic, “Or maybe that Sealed Artifact originally belonged to the Rose School of Thought? Could this be an act of revenge on their part?”
Klein made The World say, “As far as I know, the Indulgence Faction of the Rose School of Thought is thoroughly mad. At times, they do things that utterly lack reason.”
Alger said, “I’ve also heard that they have attacked official Beyonders more than once in the Southern Continent, but this should be the first time they have launched such a reckless assault in Backlund.”
At that moment, Odis spoke up: “Regarding this matter, I’ve gathered some intelligence. It seems the Nighthawks possess a Sealed Artifact that would be of great use to the Rose School of Thought. And knowing this, the Nighthawks laid a trap in Backlund. I heard that the Rose School of Thought’s attempt to seize the Sealed Artifact failed, and they suffered a certain degree of losses.”
He naturally would not be too explicit, as that could easily lead the other members to suspect he was an informant for the official Beyonders.
‘That certainly sounds like something official Beyonders would do.’ Klein thought. Then he mused inwardly: ‘The Hermit’s channels are remarkably broad. He can even obtain information regarding official Beyonders…’
Alger shared a similar thought, since even he was unaware of the specific details of the incident, knowing only that such a thing had occurred.
Meanwhile, Fors thought to herself: ‘To think that such things happened in Backlund without me knowing a single thing. Well, that makes sense. It is a massive metropolis, after all, and I’m just an ordinary writer.’
At that thought, she let out a self-deprecating smile.
Audrey then asked, “What kind of organization is the Rose School of Thought?”
“An evil organization!” Alger answered first, “I’ve heard that Admiral of Blood Senor was once a member of it. Their defining trait is the indulgence of their desires; such as the desire to kill, lust, appetite, and so forth…”
“…Furthermore, their thoughts and actions are utterly mad, having caused numerous massacres across the Berserk Sea and the Southern Continent. Hmm, the one that left the deepest impression on me occurred several years ago, when they chose to imprison the entire population of a mid-sized city, and then slaughtered every last person on the night of a full moon as a sacrifice to their gods.”
Audrey furrowed her brows at that, “Did they not receive the punishment they deserved?”
“In the Southern Continent, as long as you are strong enough, you are the ruler,” Alger explained simply.
“What a truly evil organization.” Audrey remarked.
Klein manipulated The World to say, “The Rose School of Thought originated in the Star Highlands and once ruled the Highlands Kingdom. Later on, an internal schism divided them into the Indulgence Faction and the Temperance Faction. What Mr. The Hanged Man just described is the style of the Indulgence Faction. The Temperance Faction takes the opposite approach, advocating the practice of temperance to resist the torment brought about by Beyonder characteristics.”
Alger said, “I’ve also heard that the Rose School of Thought has a Temperance Faction, but I have never encountered one of their members.”
“No wonder there was a split,” Audrey said, “Those are two completely opposite styles.”
Within the same organization, one group sounded utterly sinister, while the other sounded far less so.
Odis followed up by adding, “I heard that the vast disparity between the two factions of the Rose School of Thought is related to the respective gods they worship.”
Everyone was taken aback; even Klein and Alger were unaware of this.
Klein thought: ‘I never heard Miss Bodyguard mention that she worshipped any gods. Still, such matters are personal secrets, so it’s only normal that I wouldn’t know.’
Alger, on the other hand, frowned: ‘Could a single organization have produced two gods– no, it should be two Angels. If the Rose School of Thought truly had two gods, they would have become the rulers of the Southern Continent long ago.’
Audrey sighed softly, “What a peculiar organization.”
The discussion on this topic drew to a close.
Little Sun then spoke of some trivial matters that had occurred in the City of Silver, drawing everyone’s attention toward that wondrous land.
After a bit more discussion, Klein declared the conclusion of this Tarot Club gathering…
