Li Yongjun channeled his Qi Blood, and the sharp blade shrank back into the shape of a skull ring.

"Director Li, what’s with the design of this ring?" Su Yue asked with a frown.

"Isn’t it cool? I’ve loved hardcore elements like this since I was a kid. Doesn’t it feel very rock and roll? Very punk?

"I know my own taste. It’s far better than my research abilities.

"You might not believe it, but when I was young, I started a band. I was the lead singer and even wrote a highly critical song. Unfortunately, when we went on a talent show, we didn’t even pass the auditions. I’m pretty sure it was rigged." As Li Yongjun reached the exciting part of his story, his eyebrows twitched in indignation.

Su Yue looked at Li Yongjun’s large beer belly, then at the struggling tuft of hair on top of his head—his hair’s last stand.

"Rock and roll? Punk?" Su Yue thought. He couldn’t imagine what Li Yongjun would look like wearing smoky eye makeup. "What an eyesore."

"Su Yue, I’ve given you the item, but you probably don’t have a combat technique to wield a dagger, do you? This kind of weapon is just too niche.

"I’ll introduce you to an Assassination Master. He’s long retired and now spends his days in a wheelchair. Whether you can earn his approval will depend on your own abilities. But I think you’ll be fine—after all, you have enough military merits."

Afterward, Li Yongjun gave Su Yue an address.

He knew this dagger wouldn’t be of much use, especially in the Divine Land where things were relatively safe. However, the materials were incredibly expensive, and Li Yongjun simply didn’t have the extra funds to forge a large machete, let alone a battle-axe which would require even more materials. Even selling himself wouldn’t be enough to cover the cost. Ultimately, as compensation, Li Yongjun decided to let Su Yue try his luck with the master. Even if he failed, it wouldn’t matter; dagger combat techniques weren’t widely useful anyway and were mostly just for self-defense.

"A hidden expert? Then thank you, Director Li!" Su Yue’s eyes lit up. He had just been worrying about finding a dagger combat technique. This was exactly what he needed, arriving right on cue.

"Don’t mention it. We’re good friends, after all. We’re kindred spirits who both love rock and roll.

"I’ll be going now. There’s a pile of things waiting for me at the Research Institute."

With that said, Li Yongjun bid Su Yue farewell.

Su Yue froze. "Rock and roll?" he thought. "When did I ever say I loved rock and roll? I’m a hip-hop guy."

Li Yongjun had just stepped out the doors of the West Martial Cafeteria when he poked his head back in. "Oh, right, let me introduce you to another retired expert. He can help you consume all your medicinal pills at once and seal them inside your body as a cluster of Spiritual Qi waiting to be refined. That way, you won’t have to carry your pills around with you all the time.

"This powerhouse has a decent temper, but his fees are exorbitant. That shouldn’t be a problem for you, though.

"I’ve already sent you his contact information. If you think it’ll be useful, go give it a try. If you don’t want to spend the money, it doesn’t matter."

"Not bad," Su Yue thought, his face lighting up with another wave of pleasant surprise. "If I can gather the pills inside my body, it’ll be just like when Mo Kai helped me compress the Heiye pills back then. It’ll be incredibly convenient."

He definitely had to pay this person a visit. Money wasn’t an issue; the key was convenience.

After Li Yongjun left, Su Yue toyed with the ring in his hand, flicking the sharp blade in and out. It was quite fun. Meanwhile, he continued waiting for the rest of his medicinal pills to arrive.

A sudden stroke of good fortune lifted his spirits. He had been feeling pretty gloomy earlier, but suddenly, many of his problems had been solved. Once all the pills arrived, Su Yue planned to go find the master who could condense them.

"Huh, Jin Guoqian?"

Su Yue was still waiting for his packages, though there were only a few left. Just then, an unexpected figure walked into the West Martial Cafeteria. He was clearly heading straight for Su Yue.

"Su Yue, I want to ask you for a favor," Jin Guoqian said with a solemn expression after exchanging a few brief pleasantries.

"What is it?" Su Yue was taken aback. He sensed this wasn’t going to be a simple matter.

"It’s about the Star-Washing Ice Crystal," Jin Guoqian said.

"I know you harbor some resentment toward the Military Department, but you’re the only one who can help me with this.

"Of course, I’m not asking you to go to the Eight Races Sacred Land and throw your life away. This time, the infiltrator is me."
