Chapter 1203 - 399: Dao Sect’s Bai Ziqing, Life-Ferrying Combat Technique

The scene was in complete chaos. Medical workers were engaged in frantic rescue efforts. Ambulances arrived one after another, their azure headlights flashing wildly against the dim sky. Countless makeshift hospital beds were rolled out, and in the distance, medical supplies were piled up like small mountains.

It had essentially become a miniature hospital. In fact, its capacity to handle emergency surgical trauma had already surpassed that of an ordinary hospital. After all, the ambulances were stocked with top-tier equipment from various hospitals in neighboring cities, and the medical staff were all elite surgeons.

Meanwhile, Su Yue looked around, his face full of bewilderment. He wondered, "What should I do? Just stand here like an idiot?"

"Su Yue, could you do me a favor?"

Just then, a Sixth-Grade Grandmaster from the Zhenqin Corps walked over. He seemed to have noticed Su Yue’s bewilderment and spoke with a knowing smile.

"Ah... sure, sure! I’m free with nothing to do anyway!" Su Yue nodded hastily.

He knew nothing about medicine and wasn’t injured. Though he wanted to go back and save people, he had already made a promise to Zhao Zhuangyuan. It would be embarrassing to go back now, and it was better not to cause any more trouble. He had been feeling a bit at a loss. Being able to help out at a time like this was a good thing; standing around doing nothing was just too awkward.

"These are painkillers. You can help the medical staff distribute them. While you’re at it, use your Qi Blood to help the severely injured dissolve the medication. It’s very simple.

"There are too many wounded and the conditions are tough. It’s impossible for everyone to have time for IV drips, so taking painkillers is crucial. I’m counting on you."

The Sixth-Grade Major General handed a bucket of capsules to Su Yue with a solemn expression. It really was a bucket—similar to a water cooler jug. Of course, each capsule was individually wrapped.

"Got it! I guarantee the mission will be completed!" Su Yue nodded.

Using his Qi Blood to help the wounded digest the medicine was very easy. Some of the wounded were unconscious from severe injuries, while others were in too much pain to swallow. Using Qi Blood to help wash the medicine down would allow the effects to spread through an ordinary person’s body at the fastest possible speed. This was a technique he had learned back in the Potential Class, but he had never had the chance to use it.

"Su Yue, thank you for your help. Your role is very important.

"Make sure you don’t run off anywhere. You must deliver the painkillers into the hands of every wounded person. The lives and safety of many people depend on this.

"Remember, do not run off!"

Before leaving, the general solemnly patted Su Yue’s shoulder, repeatedly warning him to the point of being a bit long-winded.

"Don’t worry, General. I understand." Su Yue nodded with a determined look on his face.

He thought, "It’s just a medicine delivery mission. Even a First-Grade Martial Artist could do this. For a dignified Fourth-Grade like me, it’s a piece of cake."

Finally, Su Yue’s mission began. Carrying the bucket of medicine, he started distributing the pills. It really was simple. For him, as long as the wounded still had a breath left, he could make the painkillers take effect.

But suddenly, Su Yue sensed something was wrong. He wondered, "Wait a minute. The other Medical Martial Artists distributing painkillers are carrying small bags and going back for more when they run out. Why am I the only one carrying a massive bucket? Why do I look like a painter? Have I been tricked?"

A flash of realization struck Su Yue’s mind. Did that general intentionally assign him such a tedious task just to stall him and keep him from running around?

Su Yue observed his surroundings. There really was no shortage of people for the job of delivering painkillers. Let alone the medical staff, even some lightly injured Qi and Blood Martial Artists could help hand out the medicine—they were bored out of their minds recovering anyway. His involvement was completely superfluous.

They really had racked their brains for this. Su Yue admired the Zhenqin Corps’s thoughtfulness. At the end of the day, it was all to keep him in line and prevent him from running off.

Su Yue suddenly felt like a jinx. He thought, "Am I really that fragile?"

With a bitter smile, Su Yue didn’t shirk the Zhenqin Corps’s task. Since no one wanted him running around, he decided not to cause any trouble for the Military Department. When it came to dealing with a Paragon, he truly couldn’t be of any help anyway.

"Huh, Li Yongjun hasn’t come out?" After helping a few severely injured people take their painkillers, Su Yue scanned the area again, but he didn’t see any sign of Li Yongjun.

After leaving the dagger behind, Li Yongjun had told him to come find him at the Research Institute today. If nothing unexpected had happened, he should have been working in the Underground City.

Damn it. Li Yongjun might be trapped in the Underground City. At this thought, Su Yue gazed toward the Research Institute, feeling particularly distressed.

The giant face in the sky continued to laugh maniacally. The scarlet storm clouds churned ceaselessly, exuding an overwhelming, suffocating pressure. Although Fei Ningxiao had not yet broken through the outermost Absolute Defense, his expression was savage and arrogant—the contempt of someone whose conspiracy had already succeeded.

An ominous premonition lingered in Su Yue’s heart. If the goal was merely to destroy the Research Institute’s buildings, then an earthquake was indeed a very effective method. But as a Paragon, was this truly the extent of Fei Ningxiao’s capabilities? It didn’t make sense. Therefore, Su Yue was very worried.

"Li Yongjun, my friend, you have to make it out alive. May the God of Rock bless you," Su Yue offered a quick prayer. Recalling the image of the pot-bellied, bald man proudly declaring himself a rock and roll youth, Su Yue felt a pang of heartache.

"Try not to move around too much. Your injuries aren’t too severe...!"

The wounded person Su Yue was currently treating wasn’t in critical condition. At the very least, he could still move; he had just suffered heavy bleeding from glass and metal cuts. He had many wounds, but they had clearly all been disinfected and stitched up, and he had been sprayed with coagulants.

After taking the painkillers, he could rest easy and wait to recover. Although there were many wounds, only a few had nicked arteries, making them non-fatal. He wouldn’t even be left with many scars.
