Martial Arts Overlord
Chapter 1414 - 1411: Perverse Fist Technique, Out Cloud Country
The Dark Cloud Giant Python glided to a stop twenty steps from Luo Feng. It did not launch an attack, its pair of inverted-triangle eyes staring at Luo Feng without a single blink, ghostly light flickering within—clearly hesitating, wondering if everything before it was a trap.
After a brief moment, seeing that Luo Feng still hadn’t made the slightest move, the Dark Cloud Giant Python finally couldn’t resist the temptation. Its massive form sprang forward, the huge head shooting out like lightning. Its blood?red jaws gaped wide, pitch?black Demon Qi boiling inside like rolling clouds, about to swallow Luo Feng whole.
Hum!
At that instant, Luo Feng suddenly opened his eyes.
In the forest, a vast imposing force erupted. The previously tranquil air rippled like water, layer upon layer of wave?like eddies spreading out.
The Dark Cloud Giant Python’s enormous body stiffened slightly. Its icy pupils, reflecting Luo Feng’s figure, shrank violently, filled with unease and a deep, instinctive terror.
At this very moment, in the Dark Cloud Giant Python’s eyes, Luo Feng’s originally somewhat thin figure began to rise infinitely tall. His head propped up the heavens, his feet stepped on the earth, like a perilous peak that had stood for tens of thousands of years, exuding endless sharp edge. The overwhelming pressure rushing at it made even its consciousness begin to freeze, and its attack stalled for a split second.
Luo Feng’s gaze flashed. Seizing that tiny opening in the python’s strike, his right hand clenched tightly into a fist.
Hum!
The space around his fist twisted and warped. The violent friction of True Yuan made even the air ignite, and an incomparably domineering aura swept out, whipping up a wave of heat through the entire dense forest.
"Hundred Violent Shock Fists!"
Wreathed in blazing flames, Luo Feng blasted out with a punch, smashing heavily into the empty air before him.
Hum.
A crimson ripple ring spread out from Luo Feng’s fist as the center. In that instant, the entire forest seemed to freeze—including the Dark Cloud Giant Python that had been about to pounce onto Luo Feng.
The next moment.
Boom!
With a thunderous crash, the space within a hundred?zhang radius around Luo Feng violently shook. Thick cracks spread out from him as the center, as if the very space could no longer withstand the sudden eruption of power and began to collapse.
Roar!
A shrill bellow rang out. The Dark Cloud Giant Python’s massive body seemed to be kneaded by an enormous force, twisting and warping. Wherever there was no Demon Qi protecting it, its body blew apart segment by segment, chunks of flesh exploding one after another, the broken meat and surrounding stones ignited by the friction of the domineering fist force.
From the sky, looking down, the entire forest was engulfed in flames and smoke, like a purgatory on earth.
After several breaths, everything quieted down. A deep pit a hundred zhang in diameter had appeared around Luo Feng. The Dark Cloud Giant Python lay in the middle, its whole body drenched in blood, already on its last breath.
"What terrifying fist power. This Dark Cloud Giant Python, though it can’t compare to a true Martial Artist of the seventh level of the True Yuan Realm, in terms of defensive power it’s probably a bit superior—yet it still couldn’t withstand a single punch."
Looking at the utterly devastated forest, Luo Feng couldn’t help taking a deep breath.
The power of the Shaking Heaven Fist had far exceeded his expectations. Just the first form alone possessed such might. One had to know this was only the entry stage of the Hundred Violent Shock Fists; the latter two forms’ power would increase severalfold!
At this moment, Luo Feng was certain the Shaking Heaven Fist was definitely not an ordinary earth?grade fist art. Even among mid?grade earth?level fist techniques, few could possess such destructive force.
"Eh!"
Once his mood calmed a little, Luo Feng suddenly felt a wave of soreness in his right arm. Lowering his head to look, he found his right hand was faintly trembling.
After a brief thought, Luo Feng understood at once. Everything in the world has pros and cons—the Shaking Heaven Fist’s power was too fierce, and the burden it placed on the practitioner’s body was equally terrifying.
If he hadn’t spent the past ten?plus days cultivating together with the Tiger King, his strength surging and his physique greatly enhanced, the recoil from that punch just now would have been enough to injure him.
And that was him. For another Martial Artist at the sixth level of the True Yuan Realm, a crippled right arm would not be out of the question.
"What a perverse fist technique!"
Luo Feng let out a wry laugh.
This fist art was far too extreme. Never mind human Martial Artists—even among the Wild tribe, who temper their bodies from childhood, few would be able to cultivate it, and even if they did, they might not dare to use it readily.
Otherwise, with one punch blasted out, before it even hit the enemy, one might first be injured by one’s own fist power.
Though it had some flaws, Luo Feng was very satisfied with this fist art. This direct, straightforward combat style suited him perfectly.
The first ray of morning sunlight pierced through the leaves and spilled down. Luo Feng glanced up at the sky, took out his map, and muttered to himself:
"Tomorrow I should be able to walk out of the Red Blood Wilderness, and then it’ll be Out Cloud Country. I wonder how Yue Haitang and the others are doing. That girl Jiang Fengfeng is probably getting impatient by now..."
Smiling, Luo Feng put away the map. His figure flickered as he unfolded Sky Cloud Step, streaking toward the distant horizon.
The next morning.
The terrain around him gradually grew flat, and the trees began to thin out. Luo Feng had reached the outskirts of the Red Blood Wilderness; this area already belonged to the territory of Out Cloud Country.
Taking out the map for a look, Luo Feng shook his head slightly, then promptly stowed it away again.
This map had been purchased in Melt Fire City of the Imperial City of the Great Li King Court. It used Yuan Qi to mark the various geographical locations within the Great Li King Court. Now that he was in Out Cloud Country, there were no annotations on the map.
"I’ll leave the Red Blood Wilderness first, then find someone to ask directions."
Muttering to himself, Luo Feng sped up. His figure almost fused into the wind, covering over a thousand meters in a single flash, faster than the naked eye could track.
At noon, Luo Feng walked out of the Red Blood Wilderness. What unfolded before his eyes was a vast, boundless plain.
Tough grasses taller than a man grew across the plain, and packs of various wild beasts roamed back and forth. Once they noticed him, they scattered like birds and beasts. Several rivers snaked off into the horizon, the scenery picturesque.
Seeing this scene, Luo Feng felt an urge to throw back his head and roar at the sky. For over half a month, he’d been in a constant state of tense cultivation; only now did he truly relax.
"Someone’s there..."
After flying across the plain for more than Baili, Luo Feng suddenly stopped, his gaze sweeping toward a river ahead. Several Barbarian Beasts were squatting there, with a bonfire still burning, the area echoing with the noise of human voices.
Seeing the figures moving around the Barbarian Beasts, Luo Feng let out a breath of relief. He didn’t know where Cloud Brocade City was located and had been hoping to find someone to ask.
Slowing his pace, Luo Feng approached the area where the Barbarian Beasts were.
Whoosh!
When he drew within a hundred meters, a sharp, piercing whistle suddenly split the stillness of the plain.
"Something’s up!"
"Watch the Barbarian Beasts." In an instant, the people resting by the river all got to their feet. One after another, they drew their weapons and quickly formed a ring around the five Barbarian Beasts, eyes wary.
Thock!
A sound of something tearing through the air rang out. An arrow shot into the ground at Luo Feng’s feet, forcing him to halt.
"Who are you?"
A young man holding a bow stepped out from the grass, arrowhead pointed straight at Luo Feng, questioning coldly.
"No need to be nervous. I’m just passing through and wanted to ask you all about something." Luo Feng made his tone as gentle as possible.
"What do you want to ask?" The youth frowned.
"Enough."
The young guard was about to continue his interrogation when a voice interrupted him. A female Swordsman in red armor walked out from the group, gave Luo Feng a measuring glance, then waved her hand for everyone to lower their weapons. She turned to Luo Feng and said:
"Come over here."
