Chapter 1427: Teasing and Owning Up to One’s Guilt

As Luo Feng approached the residence, Xuelian sensed his aura and went to inform Yue Haitang, deliberately saying that someone was gravely injured.

Previously, the Tiger King had said he would only borrow ten days of Luo Feng’s time, yet now more than half a month had passed and Luo Feng still hadn’t appeared. Yue Haitang had been anxious about Luo Feng’s safety all this time; hearing that someone was seriously wounded, he immediately assumed it was Luo Feng, and coupled with the blood on Luo Feng’s body, he believed it even more, which led to the scene just now.

At this moment, Yue Haitang naturally understood that he had been toyed with by Xuelian.

“Young Master Haitang, Xuelian may be beautiful, but if you stare at me like that, Xuelian will feel very troubled.” Xuelian hid behind Luo Feng, a maiden’s shyness surfacing on her face. Her eyes looked at Yue Haitang, yet held a hint of curious, contrasting interest.

Yue Haitang gnashed his teeth in hatred, his right hand already on the hilt of his Longsword. He glanced at Luo Feng, then let go, and said coldly, “I won’t stoop to your level.”

From their exchange, Luo Feng had already guessed the rough outline of what had happened. He smiled at Yue Haitang and said, “Haitang, I’m not hurt. This blood belongs to someone else. Honestly, just now I even thought you were about to cry.”

“Hehe, Master, Young Master Haitang is very worried about you. While you were away, he asked about you every single day.” Xuelian narrowed her eyes slightly, sizing up Yue Haitang with a faint smile.

Yue Haitang’s face flushed rare red. He hurriedly turned his gaze away, then faced Luo Feng and asked, “Why did it take you so long to reach Cloud Brocade City?”

“I was delayed a bit by cultivation on the way.”

Luo Feng glanced around once, then asked, “Where are Chixiao and the others?”

Xuelian said, “Master, I haven’t told them you’ve returned yet. They should still be in seclusion cultivating.”

Luo Feng nodded, looked Xuelian up and down, and his eyes lit up slightly. “Xuelian, what realm are you at now?”

“Late stage of the seventh layer of the True Yuan Realm. Now that Master is back, it won’t be long before I completely refine the heart of the Five-Colored Glazed Toad and step into the eighth layer of the True Yuan Realm.”

Xuelian’s voice carried joy. Being separated from Luo Feng had indeed affected her cultivation somewhat, but with the Five-Colored Glazed Toad’s heart, she had been rapidly advancing these days by refining the Pure Yin Blood Energy within it.

It wasn’t just Xuelian. Luo Feng discovered that after some time apart, Yue Haitang had also advanced from mid-stage of the second layer of the True Yuan Realm to the peak of the second layer, not far from the third layer. His progress was considerable. Luo Feng thought to himself: seems I’m not the only one making strides.

“Luo Feng, what realm are you at now?” Yue Haitang looked at Luo Feng with open curiosity. She very much wanted to know, after guidance from the Tiger King—one of the four great Beast Kings of legend—just how much Luo Feng had improved.

“I…”

Luo Feng was just about to answer.

“Who are you people? This is Filariasis Residence, idlers are not permitted to enter.” A cold shout came from the direction of the main gate.

Immediately after.

Boom!

The entire compound trembled slightly, as if a small earthquake had occurred.

“What’s going on?” Yue Haitang frowned.

Luo Feng sneered. “So they really managed to find their way here. Let’s go take a look.”

“Alright.”

Swish! Swish! Swish!

The three of them used Qinggong and, in the blink of an eye, arrived near the main gate of the residence.

At this moment, the originally tall and imposing gate of Filariasis Residence had become unrecognizable. The entire gate had completely vanished, and even a large section of the surrounding courtyard wall had collapsed. Two groups stood facing off amidst the rubble: closer to the inner courtyard was the group of Fire Armour Guards they had seen before, and opposite them was a group of White Armour Guards. At their head was a cold-faced middle-aged man, and standing beside him was a richly dressed youth—the Eleventh Prince.

Several Fire Armour Guards lay on the ground, their bodies covered in blood. They were clearly injured, and not lightly; all of them lay there groaning.

A young Fire Armour Guard gripped his Longsword, glaring at the Eleventh Prince and the others as he shouted angrily, “You’ve got some nerve. Do you even know whose residence this is?”

The Eleventh Prince’s face was still quite pale, yet his eyes had already regained their usual arrogance. Hearing this, he let out an evil laugh:

“Heh heh, I don’t care whose residence it is. Whoever dares block my path has always had only one fate. I ask you, did a young Saber man named Luo Feng enter this compound just now? Hand him over immediately and I’ll spare your lives.”

The cold-faced middle-aged man said, “I am Bai Ye, City Lord of Cloud Brocade City. I have matters to question Luo Feng about. As long as you hand him over, I won’t make things difficult for you.”

The cold-faced middle-aged man was indeed City Lord Bai of Cloud Brocade City. He hadn’t wanted to help the Eleventh Prince, but constrained by the other’s status, he had reluctantly agreed. Naturally, he didn’t wish to let the situation blow up too far.

Just then, Luo Feng, Yue Haitang, and Xuelian appeared in the open space.

“City Lord Bai, that’s him!”

Seeing Luo Feng, the Eleventh Prince’s expression darkened.

Yue Haitang sensed the killing intent the Eleventh Prince held toward Luo Feng and frowned slightly, asking, “Luo Feng, who is he?”

Luo Feng said, “Just a jumping clown. The blood on me is his.”

As he spoke, Luo Feng looked toward Bai Ye, his gaze pausing for a moment. The aura emanating from the man was as deep as an abyss and as vast as the sea; unsurprisingly, he was certainly a Martial Artist of the True Yuan Realm.

“You are Luo Feng?” Bai Ye turned his gaze upon Luo Feng.

Luo Feng nodded. “That’s me. I wonder what guidance City Lord Bai has for me.”

Bai Ye said, “You injured the Eleventh Prince. Do you acknowledge your crime?”

Luo Feng remained unmoved and sneered. “He struck first. What crime do I have?”

The Eleventh Prince couldn’t help interjecting, “City Lord Bai, no need to waste words with this brat. Hurry and help me kill him!”

“You dare! Young Master Luo Feng is my young master’s honored guest. This is no place for you to run wild!” a young Fire Armour Guard shouted angrily.

“Impudent! How dare you be disrespectful to our City Lord!”

A White Armour Martial Artist snorted coldly, a sharp light flashing in his eyes. His spear trembled slightly in his hand, and at once the surrounding air currents surged, forming a massive gale. With a single thrust that pierced the void, the spear blasted toward the shouting Fire Armour Guard.

Whoosh! Emperor Yan’s Sky-breaking Saber left its sheath, and Luo Feng slashed out with a single stroke.

The air split open with a distinct crack, and the astonishing spear Qi Force was cleaved cleanly in two. The White Armour Guard was driven back repeatedly by the shattered Qi Force, stumbling under the impact.

Bai Ye’s brows furrowed. He didn’t approve of the Eleventh Prince’s methods, which was why he had delayed making a move. But as the City Lord of Cloud Brocade City, seeing someone disregard him so blatantly, a sharp glint immediately appeared in his eyes.

“Come here.”

Whoosh!

As the words fell, Bai Ye flicked his hand. An extraordinarily terrifying suction force arose out of thin air, a distorted spatial vortex enveloping Luo Feng, trying to drag him over.

Luo Feng’s body sank slightly, and the ground beneath his feet immediately cracked open into thick fissures. Brilliant flames condensed on his left fist, and with a momentum that could smash through anything, he slammed his fist heavily into the ground.

“Hundred Violent Shock Fists!”

Boom!

Ferocious fist Qi Force rampaged domineeringly, revealing the bearing of a tyrant. Within several hundred meters, countless cracks erupted through the space, spreading like a spider web. That massive suction force was shattered completely in an instant.
