Chapter 6715: The Day Has Finally Come

But Jie Tianran would never admit to that.

“Chu Feng wouldn’t have been a match for me even if he were at the same cultivation level, though that day will never come now,” Jie Tianran sneered.

Boom!

Countless blood-red skeleton hands suddenly whizzed forth from the Netherworld Sect’s formation and engulfed Jie Tianran like an arrow rain.

It should have been impossible for Jie Tianran to dodge this attack, but he deactivated his formation, causing his avatar to disappear and leaving only his smaller main body behind.

He moved with amazing alacrity, weaving through the dense rain of blood-red skeleton hands with ease.

“Jie Tianran, you speak big words, but it looks like you can only dart around like a lowly rat,” Baili Xukong snorted in anger.

This attack was much stronger than the previous ones, and it resulted in the swift depletion of their energies. The weaker Netherworld Sectmembers felt their bodies going into disarray, with some even bleeding from their eyes, nostrils, ears, and mouth. They were getting desperate.

But Jie Tianran was unfazed by their attacks. This frustrated Baili Xukong.

“Hahahaha!” Jie Tianran laughed in contempt. “You said that I only know how to dodge? I’m merely giving you a chance. You only have your own incompetence to blame for failing to land your attacks.”

Then, Jie Tianran suddenly vanished.

Boom!

The blood-red skeleton hands seemed to have struck an invisible wall, causing them to stop in place and disintegrate.

Then, a golden light shone from where the blood-red skeleton hands had stopped. A formation palm appeared. It was so huge that it was comparable to the Netherworld Sect’s formation, but what was even more shocking was that there was a glowing figure behind that palm.

It was Jie Tianran’s avatar!

He stood many times taller than the Netherworld Sect’s formation. Even those from nearby starfields could see him without relying on observation means.

Jie Tianran thrust his palm toward the Netherworld Sect’s formation.

Despite the massive size of his avatar, he moved even faster than before.

Boom!

There was an intense spatial jolt that shook even the surrounding starfields.

Jie Tianran’s palm landed squarely on target. It failed to destroy the head, but it rattled the formation. Many Netherworld Sectmembers spewed fresh blood. Some even fainted.

“Something is off. Jie Tianran’s fighting prowess is clearly superior to that of the Netherworld Sect’s formation.”

Chu Feng belatedly realized that Jie Tianran had been feigning weakness. What he was seeing now was Jie Tianran’s true strength. In a face-off, the Netherworld Sect’s formation was not a match for him at all.

Jie Tianran was stronger than Chu Feng had expected.

“Jie Tianran is actually that powerful?”

Even Netherworld Marshals like Jimo Qianzhou were plunged into despair, let alone the others. Their Netherworld Embryos had already undergone metamorphosis after absorbing the sacred item’s energy, and they were currently buffed by the Netherworld Sect’s formation.

Yet, they still couldn’t see any hope for victory.

Jie Tianran was truly the strongest man in the present world of cultivation. The Netherworld Sect was no match for him!

“Heed my order, Netherworld Sectmembers. Spare no energy in channeling the formation! We shall fight for the young master!” Baili Xukong roared.

Despite being gripped by fear, the Netherworld Sectmembers continued to channel the formation. They released even greater energy from their Netherworld Embryos, but on top of that, they also began channeling another formidable power.

With that, the Netherworld Sect’s formation grew even stronger. The formation released a wave of oppressive might, which forced Jie Tianran’s avatar to retreat several steps.

“Are you pitting your life against mine? What a pity. There is nothing you can do in the face of absolute power,” Jie Tianran sneered. He remained fearless even though the Netherworld Set’s formation had grown even stronger than before.

He could tell that the Netherworld Sectmembers were putting their lives on the line to channel the formation. No matter how powerful the formation was, it wouldn’t last long. He just needed to drag things out, and the Netherworld Sect would collapse in due time.

Besides, he didn’t fear the Netherworld Sect in a direct confrontation.

“Please entrust the formation to me,” Chu Feng suddenly said.

He spoke aloud, such that even Jie Tianran heard his words loud and clear.

At the same time, Chu Feng appeared in the middle of the Netherworld Sect formation.

“Chu Feng!” Jie Tianran’s eyes ignited with animosity.

He unhesitatingly swung his saber down. Even the sheer shockwave of the attack was enough to destroy a realm.

Yet, when the attack landed, the Netherworld Sect’s formation didn’t budge in the least.

Jie Tianran hurriedly took another look at the Netherworld Sect’s formation. It was no longer in the form of a head but a blood-colored wind. The Netherworld Sectmembers had channeled all their energy toward Chu Feng, causing the formation to revolve around him.

Boom!

Jie Tianran was suddenly jolted off into the distance.

By the time he regained his footing, the Netherworld Sect’s formation had become more than ten times bigger, and the aura it emanated was stronger than his.

Then, the formation’s blood-red aura swiftly contracted, revealing that the Netherworld Sectmembers had broken free from the formation and were now standing neatly behind Chu Feng. The formation eventually converged into Chu Feng’s body.

Chu Feng was cloaked in a blood-colored aura armor that looked sinister but imposing. He had become one with the Netherworld Sect. Above all, the aura he emanated struck fear even in Jie Tianran.

“This isn’t good, Jie Tianran. At this rate, their formation might just reach rank eight Heavenly God level,” the old entity inside Jie Tianran’s body reminded.

“I know.” Jie Tianran could tell as much.

“Then why are you still standing around like a fool? Run!”

“Run? Where am I supposed to go when God’s Era’s power is right before me?”

“Are you going to give up on your life for power?”

Jie Tianran frowned. He knew that he had to make a choice.

Escaping was the safer choice. The Netherworld Sectmembers were expending their life force to channel their formation. They wouldn’t last long at this rate. All he needed to do was to drag things out to secure his victory.

But he feared that something would happen to God’s Era while he was away. In the first place, he still hadn’t grasped why God’s Era had traveled all the way to the Bloodline Galaxy.

He eventually made his choice. There was nothing more important than his life.

Weng!

Just then, God’s Era’s pedestal emanated a brilliant light.

Jie Tianran’s formation had fused into the pedestal. It morphed into a light beam that surged toward God’s Era’s first gate. The first gate began to swirl before exerting a powerful suction force.

“We don’t have to escape anymore.” Jie Tianran was overjoyed.

This was the reason he had expended so many of his talisman papers to construct that formation.

God’s Era had three gates—Jie Tianran had entered the third gate, whereas Chu Feng had entered the second gate. Both of them had avoided the first gate because they knew it was a death trap; those who entered it had no chance of survival.

“This is bad.”

Chu Feng also noticed the anomaly, but the suction force locked onto them before he could bring everyone to safety.

All the Netherworld Sectmembers, including Chu Feng, were dragged helplessly toward the first gate.

“It’s over, Chu Feng.” Jie Tianran laughed triumphantly.

The suction force was so strong that Chu Feng and the others were already dragged into the first gate even as Jie Tianran’s words echoed in their ears.

On the other side of the gate was absolute darkness.

The Netherworld Sectmembers anxiously called Chu Feng’s name, worried that a mishap had befallen him. From their voices, Chu Feng could sense their trepidation.

This place was suffused with a deathly aura, resulting in even their voices sounding different from usual. If hell existed in this world, this would probably be it.

What further unnerved them was the fact that they were likely still in the outer perimeter of this place. An even more terrifying power was lurking in the depths of the darkness. The further they ventured into the darkness, the more concentrated the deathly aura.

There was yet another powerful suction force, but this time, it targeted only Chu Feng.

Before he could react, his body was already lurching toward the depths of the darkness. Helplessness swelled in his heart. He clearly sensed himself drawing close to death, but there was nothing he could do about it.

He didn’t have the means to defy the overwhelming power in this place.

“Am I really going to meet my end here?” Chu Feng felt indignant.

He arrived at the source of the terrifying power.

A brilliant light abruptly vanquished the darkness as his body fell to the ground—or to be more exact, the surface of a water body. Looking down, he saw that he was lying on top of a golden ocean of condensed natural energies.

There was an incomparably colossal palace before him. It was so big that it could have contained the entire world of cultivation.

Chu Feng was stunned. Astonishment and incomprehension gripped him.

He had been here before. This was the Chu Heavenly Clan’s forbidden land.

The last time he was here, a barrier had kept him out. All he could do was to peek at the palace via a window. He couldn’t even approach the palace, let alone enter it.

But now, he was standing at the center of the forbidden land, with the colossal palace right within his reach.

...

A pair of terrifying eyes opened in the Ninth Galaxy, each one comparable to a star.

They belonged to a humongous entity that was larger than an average starfield. Its body was covered in red scales, but it was cloaked in a blue aura that made it seem like a demonic god, domineering and fearsome.

Even its breath could easily cause countless realms to crumble.

Yet, this humongous entity was kneeling even though there was nothing in front of it.

No, that was not it. There was someone in front of it, but the person was so small that he was less than a speck of dust compared to the humongous entity. It was a middle-aged man.

Chu Feng’s father, Chu Xuanyuan.

“Milord, please have mercy on me,” the humongous being kowtowed to Chu Xuanyuan as its deafening voice sent quakes through space.

Chu Xuanyuan smiled faintly as if everything was within his grasp.

“Hm?” He suddenly narrowed his eyes as if having sensed something. Then, he roared, “Shut up!”

Those two simple words carried such powerful might that it felt like it could destroy anything. The humongous entity was so intimidated that it clenched its jaws to keep itself from making the slightest noise.

Chu Xuanyuan’s expression turned grim, and it looked like his consciousness had drifted elsewhere. Moments later, his face lit up in excitement and joy.

“The day has finally come.”
