“Who else could it be if not you? That realm harnesses your energy,” Chu Feng asked.

It was not some miracle that the phenomenon manifested into a real realm. It had been a realm from the very start, and it was under God’s Era’s control.

“Who else has come into contact with God’s Era aside from you?” the red lightning beast asked.

“My father?” Chu Feng asked.

“I didn’t say a thing,” the red lightning beast replied.

“So your father was behind this! That explains everything,” Eggy exclaimed.

“I see! Elder, do you know where my father is right now? For the phenomenon to appear so suddenly... is my father still in the eight galaxies?” Chu Feng asked.

“I have no interest in discussing your family affairs. I don’t care where your father, mother, grandfather, or grandmother are. What does that have to do with me?” the red lightning beast scoffed.

Chu Feng didn’t know what to say in response to that.

“I have bestowed God’s Era’s energy to your friends and family. That should be a sufficient reward for clearing the trial, right? You should handle your private affairs by yourself. Don’t try to get anything out of me,” the red lightning beast said.

“I understand, elder. You have already helped me greatly. I’m only asking you about my father because I want to know more about you,” Chu Feng said with a grin.

He was certain that God’s Era knew about his father’s whereabouts, but if the red lightning beast refused to speak, there was no point throwing a tantrum. The red lightning beast was not obliged to help him, after all.

“Good. It’s time to deal with that demon sword you’re carrying now,” the red lightning beast said.

“Demon sword? Elder, are you referring to the Asura Sword?” Chu Feng asked.

“I’m referring to the Evil God Sword.”

Chu Feng was surprised. He hadn’t been able to use the Evil God Sword ever since it was sealed by the Blood-devouring Demon Exalted. He didn’t bear expectations for it, since he had the Asura Sword now and could count on it when pushed to a corner.

He had always thought that the Evil God Sword was inferior to the Asura Sword, since he had obtained it back when he was still extremely weak. But if the red lightning beast had mentioned it, things were probably not as simple as he had thought.

“The Evil God Sword is a very dangerous demon sword. It has been quickly recovering ever since you brought it into the Upper Realms. If I hadn’t secretly sealed it away, you would have used it and be turned into its puppet or fodder,” the red lightning beast said.

“No wonder!”

Chu Feng had always wondered why he wasn’t able to do anything about the Blood-devouring Demon Exalted’s seal even though his cultivation had grown by so much since. This made him think that the Blood-devouring Demon Exalted was actually very strong, and he couldn’t help but worry about Wang Qiang, since the Blood-devouring Demon Exalted was in his body.

“Even now, the Evil God Sword is still awakening and gaining power. It’s only a matter of time before it breaks free of my seal. By then, even if you refuse to wield it, it’ll still devour you whole. Before God’s Era’s energy is depleted, let’s join hands to destroy that sword,” the red lightning beast proposed.

“Do we have to do that?” Chu Feng asked.

“Can’t bear to do so? I won’t stop you if you want to keep that threat with you, but you haven’t truly witnessed that sword’s malice yet. You won’t be the only one to suffer when the sword runs amok; your friends and family will suffer the consequences as well.”

“Elder, we’ll do as you say. How should we go about it?”

“Just do as I say. I’ll support you with God’s Era’s energy.”

Chu Feng pulled his consciousness back into his body and turned to Zi Ling and the others, saying, “Wait here for a moment. I’ll be right back.”

He didn’t want to deal with the Evil God Sword near where Zi Ling and the others were, lest a mishap happen. He flitted to a remote location before taking it out. Looking at the dark-red Evil God Sword, he couldn’t help but feel reluctant to destroy it.

Even though he hadn’t been able to use it since encountering the Blood-devouring Demon Exalted, it had been with him since his time in the Lower Realm. This was the blade he had used to slay many formidable foes, and he had grown attached to it.

“Chu Feng, use the final bit of God’s Era’s energy to completely decimate the sword,” the red lightning beast instructed.

Chu Feng followed the instruction without any hesitation. He trusted the red lightning beast. There was no way he would keep this threat with him after the red lightning beast had said that it was dangerous.

The red lightning beast had converted God’s Era’s energy into a force that specialized in destroying weapons. All Chu Feng needed to do was to channel it.

So he opened his palm and directed the golden light shrouding him toward the Evil God Sword.

The Evil God Sword had been silent for a long time now, but at this moment, it suddenly cloaked itself in a dark-red aura to block God’s Era’s energy. A familiar voice echoed from the sword, “Chu Feng, you cold-hearted bastard. I have helped you so many times, but you want to destroy me just because that lightning beast told you to do so.”

“Elder, you’re here,” Chu Feng remarked with a smile as he raised the intensity of the attack using God’s Era’s energy.

“Chu Feng, do our old ties mean nothing to you?“ the Evil God Sword pleaded. It was struggling to stand its ground against God’s Era’s energy. Its dark-red aura was slowly being chipped away.

Just then, God’s Era suddenly revealed an opening. The Evil God Sword didn’t hesitate to exploit this opening to escape. It vanished into vast space in the blink of an eye, such that there was no way to track it.

“Elder, I didn’t do that,” Chu Feng anxiously said. He was worried that the two lightning beasts would think that he had intentionally let the Evil God Sword escape.

“I know. I did it,” the red lightning beast replied.

“Why?” Chu Feng was confused.

“That sword was able to recover so quickly because its master has awakened. Destroying that sword might stoke its master’s ire. In contrast, it might be wiser for you to spare that sword and earn its master’s favor instead,” the red lightning beast said.

“Master? Who’s the Evil God Sword’s master?” Chu Feng asked.

This time, the red lightning beast generously answered Chu Feng’s question, “I sensed the aura of the Evil God Sword’s master when you entered the Immemorial Cemetery.”
